  1. Still an awesome pit though! Always like this jet, and the F model with it's unique lines compared to the rest of the series. The cool forward hinged canopy is the shizzle too.
  2. I downloaded the excellent Mig-21 series pits by Paladrian (sp)? I see in the screen shot that a control stick appears, not getting one in game. Don't know what I missed, and my spanish is not so mui bien (sp)
  3. Hopefully he will be at a larger base with some civilized facilities. We are building up where I am to prep for closure of two smaller posts across the river from us. This place was only meant to be here for 6 months, but has been up for years. The logistics has been tough, and now with expansion, we are further behind. I am just a "fobbit", but the word is that the battle in the city has been won. We have not had incoming in months, the most excitement in that respect was last month while passing through Baghdad to go out on R&R. (two rockets impacting with 300 meters, too close for me!) May all of the service members I proudly serve return home soon, and in one peace!!! BG
  4. GASCAN is just a play off my last name (Was the old man's call sign when he flew in the AF) The number 39 is what I wore on any jerseys I wore growing up. (No particular reason)
  5. This mod is the shi'ite. I have been admiring the nose art!! I kind of have a whole fantasy thing going (not with the nose art mind you) about re-established Eagle Squadrons flying what else..... the Eagle FGR.1. I have the whole gaggle of them based in Dhimar, defending that all-too-plentiful Dhimari petrol. God Save the Queen........ Shagadelic baby......
  6. The man flew missions in a couple of different wars, and exemplified a true fighter pilot and leader. I have read some of his stories, seen him interviewed, and viewed him as a hero growing up, not some overpaid athlete, movie star, or race car driver. Everytime I see an F-4 C or D, I wonder if it was one he or his unit flew in Vietnam on some of the more daring and memorable flights. Rest in Peace
  7. To all Service Members (Especially those in Ramadi, whom I proudly serve) Thank you for your service and sacrafice. These young men and women and their loved ones are always in my prayers. Salute
  8. Better late than never........ Would have answered roll call earlier, but was in transit (R&R, headed to Cancun for a sure to be memorable all inclusive!)
  9. I bought the full version (don't have it with me here, it is home), and liked it okay. Don't recall any bugs. I must say, I really loved the original GR, and like you, bought those add ons the minute they came out. I just recently fired up GR, and am pi$$ed that I left the expansion disks at home. Playing on a laptop pretty much sucks, I downloaded Raven Shield, but this laptop is quite outdated, so it would not even load. I have been burning up bandwidth downloading expansions, I always loved the embassy map in GR, quite fun!
  10. Happy Birthday to me! Turning the big Four Two today, and have been playing flight sims since age 19 (MSFS on a C64!) I don't have much time these days, as I am working a contract in Iraq (7 days a week); but my laptop (such as it is) sits on my desk, and every now and then I crank up SFP1 (obsessed with the Yak-41 of late). Growing up as an air force brat, I fell in love with the smell of JP-5, and wanted to be a military pilot. I ended up in the fire service, but still love flying and aviation in general. (The day after thanksgiving, I paid to go up in a Stearman (Navy N3N actually) and did aerobatics northwest of Atlanta. Nothing beats acro in an open cockpit! If it had not been for the holiday travels, I probably could have gotten a significant number of flying lessons working toward a license. Maybe at the end of this contract year  So, the only thing I can do is fly the sims on a pc, which has been curbed drastically with this job (I used to sit for a whole day flying missions, or playing other games, so I guess reality and being a responsible adult keeps me from it as much!)
  11. One of the best books I have ever read. He puts you right in the cockpit. Also, "My Secret War", written by a guy that flew A-1 Skyraiders (SPADS) in the war. He flew mostly at night, in storms, and this was another one that made you feel as though you were in the cockpit.
  12. Oh, most definitely "KILLER CLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE" and what was that Rob Zombie film? House of 1000 corpses?
  13. "We don't know where........we don't know when......... but something bad is gonna happen!" Robin Williams mocking the Homeland Security press briefings
  14. Da King - "Hump...Death....Hump....Death...Hump...Death"
  15. "You look like the lowly pi$$ boy" Josephus - (While pouring wine) - "Say when" Nympho - "eight thirty" Nympho - "The servant waits, while the masterwates"
  16. The King - "Don't tell me you don't do it....You do it.... everybody does it.....I do it, I love to do it....I just got through doing it and I want to do it again....Don't tell me you don't do it"
  17. Excellent work gang! I have been enjoying this jet lately. It is unique, and will lead to more enjoyment from this game. I can't think of any other game/sim that I have played as long as the SFP series.
  18. Sheriff Bart - "Are we awake?" The Kid - "That all depends,......are we.......Black?" Bart - "Yes, yes we are" The Kid - "Well then, we're awake......but very confused"
  19. Taggart - "I say we pull a number 6 on em" Lamar - "A number 6, I've never heard of it" Taggart - "That's where we goah ridin inta town, a wompin and a stompin, killing everyone in living sight" Lamar - "Everyone" Taggart - "Yeah! well all except the women" Lamar - "You spare the women?" Taggart - "Yeah, we take em back to the Hotel 6 and **** the $hit out of 'em!"
  20. Joey, do ya like movies about gladiators?
  21. In the ATC - "Bad News, Sir; the fog is getting thicker" "And Leon is getting LAARRRGERRRR"
  22. According to MSNBC, "flying on a helicopter in iraq is dangerous"; since I have done that a few times in the last year, should not be any harm in riding on the eggbeater! And since they will no doubt be out in my neck o' the woods, I may get the chance. (I am just a lowly civilian contractor, so we ride whatever the he|l the military lets us, and it beats the hungover looking eastern european pilots that fly the charters!)
  23. mmmmmmmm.........Daddy Like ..........
  24. Over the Beach is an excellent book, I read about three times. Dick Bellinger was my favorite character in this book. He seemed to be a wild man. Another excellent read is "Phantom over Vietnam", John Trotti, he puts you right in the cockpit during some of his missions. My hat is off to the USMC aviators that always seemed to be at the bottom of the parts distro list in the Phantom community. Things that would have deadlined USAF Phantoms were just par for the course for Mr Trotti's squadron, VMF-314!
  25. Ty Webb (As sung to Lacey) - "I was born to love you..... I was born to.....lick your face..... I was born to rub you, but-you-were born to rub me first...." "My dingie is bigger than your whole boat" "Whoa, now I know why tigers eat their young"
