I just learned that one of our Navy Hueys crashed while carrying humanitarian supplies in Haiti. Aboard were two Marines (pilots) a Lieutenant (liaison officer) and a LtCdr (supply officer of LPD Castilla). My father knew them all, and was an academy companion and close friend of the supply officer. He sits speechless beside the phone.

I don´t think it´s a merit of GWB, but of the advances qich make the US military be so much ahead of their enemies compared to other conflicts. You can´t compare the US armed forces of the 90s vs lets say the serbians (the mothas who downed the F-117 and even outnumbered besieged Sarajevo for years), with the US forces of the 21st century against the terrorists. However, you can say that this advantage is because the Bush administration increased the budget in I+D something like that.

Magnífica Respecto al pack de armas, una cosa es que aparezca en el weaponsdata.ini, pero otra cosa es que eso lo tenga aceptado el weapons editor, tienes que abrir el editor (si no se abre, metete en sus "propiedades" y dale a "compatibilidad", para ajustarlo al sistema operativo que emplees) y cuando este abierto, dale a "Open", de ahí señala el weaponsdata.ini que empleas usar, y cuando lo tengas, aparecerá una lista con las armas que reconoce. Dale a "Save", cierra, y si no me he olvidado de como funcionaban las armas en el SFP1 (menudo coñazo) deberia ir todo bien. Luego juega como siempre, "pone play, puto!"

Indeed, the anti-piracy mission in Somalia requires of a different kind of ships, other than frigates. Something like the USCG cutters or the french "avisos", we have the concept being built as "Maritime Action Ships" Ships big enough to endure in blue waters and use helos but simple, without advanced weapons, able instead to carry marines, a capable sickbay, room for the prisoners, etc. Basically, a simplified corvette is what is needed for Op Atalanta. Frigates and destroyers are way too expensive, and much of this expense comes from a firepower wich is unlikely to be needed. With a couple of destroyers and an LHD like ship around, just in case, those cutters-corvettes would make the job even better

There is no way i would call it a murder. But there is something wich disturbs me about this and other videos is how do they take it. I mean, i don´t think it´s wrong because of the mess a 30mm causes on a lot of guys altogether, because that´s the job of a cannon and never was meant to be nice. I don´t think it is wrong killing a badly wounded target if you think it is still a threat, i would have ordered that exactly. The thing disturbing about this video and others is the attitude of the crew. I don´t think we can ask people in middle of combat, once that you think a bit about what combat means, too much beyond what a scared, tired, angry and overstressed man would do, think or feel, but this comms, shows the side of war wich prooves how dark, grim, cruel could you come to be. Or those of the A-10 wich strafed a british Scimitar during the beginning of OIF in wich the first thing he says after knowing that he killed another servicemen was "s**t, i´m goin to jail", or the Apache pilot who, while Hellfiring two Bradley FVs in ODS "I hope those weren´t ours, man". However, this is something wich is beyond what frivolous activists, wich don´t mean their opinion but wear it as fashioned, or myself, should judge.

I´curious about something wich i couldn´t find out by google, and it is The USAF versions of the Phantoms had double command, that is, the WSO could fly the aircraft ( but G version) The USN Phantoms, however, had the RIO unable to fly the aircraft and focused on its systems Any hint on how was it on british models? I presumed that it was the USN way as they got F-4Js and else, but i have no idea Btw, would that configuration (USN) improve the capabilities of the fighter as interceptor in any way?
