  5. A brand new modern Korea terrain is probably inches from release
  6. It is created for VietnamSEA terrain that comes with Wings Over Vietnam so it will not work in WOE alone... It was my first ReadMe so I forgot to mention that

You probably took them from too high altitude, I take my textures from 1000m then edit and merge two of them into one 1024x1024 tile, make it seamless and resize it down to 512x512, that way you can get really nice textures that will both, fit well into general size of things and look really crisp and detailed when flying down low. As for seams(edges) with my new tehnique I need not more than 15mins per tile from GE images to finished tile, but it's a bit too complicated to explain here now.   12. Do not worry about tiles, we can always arrange something, just keep it slowly as it goes. I whish I had my present tehnique back when I was unemployed, had a wagonload of free time back then, ah well...steady as it goes :D
  13. Well thx for the input guys this will help a lot. Anyway my terrain is standard size, I don't know how terrain size influences performance. Other than that what will not be standard is tileset I'm making for it, let's say that the way it started I'l be happy if it ends at or even slightly below 200 hi-res tiles since I planned A LOT of variation which is actually needed to show that part of the planet more correctly. Anyway, maybe making 3 separate terrains is better, merging them together and adding another part(Libya for example) would make the project super huge. However that does not mean we can't help each other ;)
  14. Thx Wrench that's exactly the kind of info I needed. I only need more bases for Serbia now. Also I didn't know the invisible wall is that big, was hoping for some Greece-Turkey action... I still have A LOT of tiling work...

The ones I will add for sure: First and foremost, airports of all the capital cities of countries on the map(Rome, Vienna, Budapest,Ljubljana,Zagreb,Sarajevo, Beograd,Skopje,Podgorica,Athens,Sofia,Bukurest) Other airfields: 1. Aviano (Italy) 2. Rijeka airport(Croatia) 3. Zadar airport(Croatia) 4. Split airport(Croatia) 5. Udbina airport(Croatia) 6. Osijek airport(Croatia) 7. Banja Luka airport(Bosnia and Hercegovina) Now as you can see the thing is other than airfields from my country and well known Aviano airbase, I'm totally unfamiliar with other important airports in the region. Basically if I was to take orders I would need: About 4 airfields for Italy About 4 airfields for Serbia Maybe one more for BiH A few for Greece Atleast one for Turkey(as I don't have a lot of Turkey anyway) Since this is campaign building forum, I thought it's proabably the best place to ask because if someone is ever to make a campaign on my map, it will most probably be you guys...
  17. Well it's just a matter of taste I guess, because for me the only thing that navigates around green triangle is Pacman, pilots are the ones that navigate around mountains, sure it's hard to see birds nest at speeds involved, but I don't think they only see a green triangle either
  18. Well personally, graphics is a big part of gameplay especially in a flight simulator. If one is to simulate flight as realistic as possible it would be funny as hell if with all the fancy electronics and system modelling and high fidelity FM, you would be thrown over what looks more like hangover gone bad than a place on Earth...

    *****High Resolution PR ANW Terrain Tiles***** by Brain32 This is a set of high resolution (1024x1024) tiles for America North West terrain. Installation is simple, just unrar all the *.BMP's into your ANW terrain. Tiles were as usual made with help of satelite imagery, and are actually taken more from mid West USA than North West, but I think they still fit into general terrain idea. Dont get too concerned with high resolution or the size of the tiles, ANW terrain has only 6 tile types so this mod will not have any performance impact whatsoever, I tested it personally under WOI on my aged system and it went super smooth.

  23. Lex is correct, tile types MUST be arranged by altitude you can not have gaps or the above happens, if you have for example: "Grass" going from 1 to 400m; but the first next type...let's say "Farm" going from 600 to 800m you will have the gap...
  24. OK, if you take a look here you can spot a pattern. All service years that pass 1985 are bugged for you, that's with a good reason.
