The pilots were trained for such actions. In the so called "Luftzielschießzone 1" (air shooting area) it was common to shot on flares which hung under parachutes. The closing speed was fast and to avoid a collision the MiG drivers had to act very fast. BTW. While a night training, the flares on parachutes were misidentified by western tourists as "alien spaceships"

The blowback speed is used for flaps. It is the speed when the air resistance is big enough to "blow" the flap back to the starting position.

To use missiles, which costs 440.000 US$, to shot down a weather balloon, which costs 12 US$, is a waste of money. When the Americans sent hundreds of ballons from Westgermany to the east in the 1950th, 60th and 70th we used the guns of the fighters to down them. This worked very well, was a good training for the pilots and it was cheap.

To work with tga files you need a paint program which can handle it. I use a very old PaitshopPro.

I took Gabilons low poly Flakpanzer Gepard LOD and gave it a new skin. Its astonishing how a good skin can change the look of a LOD with only 86 kB size.

Kaluga is a town south west of Moscow. In the picture of HurrySkurry the planes are named Ryasan and Saratov. Both are names of towns.

Next development step Montevideo Airport: It has grown up a little bit.

This would end in a nuclear nightmare in worst case.

We have only entries for Cruise, Mil and Afterburn. A forth value is missing. Maybe i'm wrong, but i dont see a way.

I decided to rebuild Montevideo Airport from scratch. The first step is done. The two main runways and some taxiways are layed out. At the moment the airport consist of 41 single objects. Its like a big puzzle. So it looks today: Tomorrow more.

I think you cant include the emergency mode into the data.ini.

If you set the ini file of the plane, lets say F-4E.ini, to write protected, the game cant overwrite you changes or modded planes.
