  1. if this continues down this path then i shall wish to register a compliant!!
  2. SAM Launch!
  3. what you dont remember Gordon Browns response when Argentina conducted an airborne invasion of Pristina, Kosovo?
  4. sheesh you finally get your whole own forum and now you wanna play with real planes/skins! nice polish Li-2's tho.
  5. well that is chicago politics. vote and vote often! and gee look who took over. ah well i'll claim the ol' hometown for the Cubs:grin:
  6. god that shows how long i been away from home. didnt even know it had closed down. still remember the 727 landin on it tho, we couldnt what if it back in...... (yeah i know the answer. still want my bluesmobile)
  7. intersesting as i would think not loading them would keep the rails off. as for your skin you might wanna change your decals from white to black. easy to do if you have Gimp or any other program that can look at TGA files.
  8. NIGH! @Wrench, where ya gonna putt Miegs Field? NAS Glenview? Midway? i wont mention the last as that'll make it too obvious! and i still want the bluesmobile for a groundobject! or at least a 61 Ferrari GT 250.
  9. the squadronlist ini controls the units you can pick to fly. however if you change one up without changing the data else where you may mess up a campaign. also many of the planes stock decals (F-4, F-100) use the squadronlist to determine what markings which unit gets. i modify mine all the time due to a thing i do with my Phantoms. matter of fact might hafta do it again due to NF4 patch being released:boredom: originally thought this was SF2 forum , howver it should still apply to Gen1
  10. thats what i meant, not with modding. told you so! @ pureblue nice screenies. reminds me of a article in Int'l airpower review on turkish fast jets a few years back. just need some TuAF T-38s to round out!
  11. you all didnt figure out that it was fake t the parental warning that it contained scenes with burce willis?
  12. no your not!
  13. you mean American airpower will no longer be providing 2000lb fishponds to those in the world who piss us off?
  14. i'm sorry i didnt know that a dead soldier was political bulls**t. if mohmar was so great and powerful maybe he would have used his warplanes against our fielded forces, not bombed a disco frequented by American Servicemen. back then our political leadership believed that you yank the American tiger by the tail, you should be prepared to deal with the teeth!
  15. EricJ thats cool with the dogfight only. woulda like to do a rematch on Eagle v 12 Hind, esp since i forgot some carry aphids and got my tail shot off after expending all my missles and closin in for guns! hmm maybe wingmen are useful sometimes......
  16. damn and i thought the super glue commercials were takin it to a new level! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVNtSjONdSw
  17. ok went back and read EricJ's posts on Eagle v Phantom combat. looking historically at it, by the time the Eagle was on the scene most users were switching ot bombtruck strike role for the Phantom. against a similar generation of jets the Phantoms 2 J-79's allowed it to fight vertical where its thrust let it get up there faster than the oppostion and the wieght allowed it to get down below faster. however the Eagles much higher thrust to weight ratio negates this advantage the F-4 held. going against say later model Mig 23 or 29 on late 80s strike missions, i will point my nose at the threat long enough to loose on of my 3 sparrows at em, then stay around 300 ft and 600kts. red air dont seem to get down low. i woulld think this could work against the eagle. matter of fact similar tactic was discussed in the book The Warbirds, tho F-4E v Mirage 2000. course much of my flying tends towards strike missions or old school 100 divisions of tanks in the fulda gap CAS. when i feel like a2a action i either get the F-80 or Spitfire cranked up or have an easy day and club baby seals in my Eagle or Tomcat. is this strictly restricted to dogfighting or could other scenarios be discussed (ie Phantom inbound to put ordinance on runway intercepted by Mig23, or Eagle intercepting Hinds)
  18. i convoyed in iraq during the "hillbilly armor" days, when windows were replace with a 1/8 inch plate of steel, cut so a hole remains to see out the window and rear view mirror . was supposed to be highly effective at stopping a 5.56 mm round dead in its tracks. unfortuneatly the other side shoots 7.62 or bigger. fortunetaly i never had to find out if it works!
  19. 30 is not the day you feel old. you will feel old when you realized that people you work with weren't born during major life events (in my case Challenger, 1st Gulf War, Berlin Wall coming down) even had a lil sh!t ask me when i was on active duty what Vietnam was like. the older one was messin with me. the 17 yr old he got to ask really thought i was there! i am 33 btw ugh
  20. to properly care for them you must first understand them (yea i uploaded this before but this thread needed some music!)
  21. i think he's planning on doing the USAF wings before doing the national Air Force of Texas!
  22. lovin the 1st TFW. shown before the move to Langley and transition to F-15s. didnt know the michigan guard used SEA and the checkerboards, thought they came with the switch to ADC grey. looks interesting though
  23. well this is a freaky topic to see IMMEDIATELY after watching Eagle Eye. hold on my phone is ringing......................................
  24. just like it says. i've moved away from doing plastic kit and am only doing a few with some special meaning to me. the ones on the market are as follows F-14A with decals for VF-143 Pukin Dogs Academy 1/48 scale F-4F Phantom 2 Special red and black scheme for JG71 from 2000 Hasegawa 1/48 F-14A Atlantic Fleet Squadrons w/ photo etched parts Hasegawa 1/72 F-4E Phantom 2 markings for the 5000th Phantom produced Hasegawa 1/72 F-4C/D/J various possible units between USAF,USN and USMC Fujimi 1/72 F9F-5P Reconnaisance Panther Monogram 1/48 all have been opened thought the oldest two are the Hasegawa Phantoms (from Christmas 01). only defects known/ remembered are that the Hasegawa Tomcat lost its full color VF-31 decals to a project for my daughter(with the Felix the Cat and all) and the box for the Panther is banged up a bit but not destroyed. If you are interested for free i will also throw in a Hasegawa F-4J that is started but not complete(fuselage joined and wings together but two assemblies not joined ). sorry no photos at this time. asking price is 45.00 USD plus shipping but it is negotiable. main thing is that they go to some one that will enjoy putting them together. PM me if interested to arrange the sale. TIA daddyairplanes
