F-4D Phantoms Cockpits
daddyairplanes replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Mods & Skinning Discussion
95% of people on this planet period are just trying to get along and make life a little bit better for themselves and thier families its the noisy 5% of the others that screw it up for the rest of us -
actually for its original intended purpose (fly 250 miles from the base/carrier fast, launch missiles, kill bombers) it was quite well suited, and many of the short nosed Phantoms found themselves in interceptor roles in their twilight years now if you meant dogfighter, no. no it wasnt designed nor good at the turning fight. which is why the branch fighter weapon schools turned around and stresses fighting in the vertical, or keeping the speed way up during the engagement

which is what prompted the question

if your using my tail num template, a good way to do door numbers is to do tail nums first, then turn off the "AFxx" layer and save the three digit num as the nose number. the Tinker Phantoms i pm'd you last week have the decal entry for that so you dont have to dance it around so much

F-4D Phantoms Cockpits

i would venture to say no, as almost all were in training units or ANG units by 1984, and the focus was more on getting the next generation in, not upgrading the older one. -
those jetliners seem strangely familiar meanwhile, here's a pair of Phantoms based a little closer to your Michigan terrain (note to crew chief: 554 is missing two red stars on splitter plate)

sorry had to laugh react on that one. im pretty sure he's working on the whole bird, not just the pit but these might have to sustain you until the latest and greatest come along as well as a few foreign operators to boot some one once said, there's gold in that there d/l section...... -
so like Eams said about inception.... its perfectly possible. its just bloody difficult

true, but you have to either add dozens of very small patterns onto one jpg, or dozens of small patterns onto one huge jpg. either way can be time consuming i am guessing youre talking about Rends Germany not stock Gepard:vehicle traffic would depend on what your main use of terrain would be. for a future US-Canada war low traffic would be fine. but in and around suburbs and major cities, you'd want alot of traffic if it was peace time or long range war with Russia. take enough vehicles to boggle the European mind, double that then add three. thats how much you should have on the smaller towns yes we Americans love our cars and it would take alot IRL for us to give em up. but i fully understand if you choose nto to populate the terrain with them.

did the 184th get to keep any of their Bones (or somebody else's that was retired)?

well the Navy version didnt have enough thrust to be a fighter but i'd say teh Air Force did well employing it as a fighter bomber
