Thanks, I did mean CFS3, and have done as requited. I have been with OFF since it's beginning and on older computer, installed many times. Now I have a new computer with Win 7. If you ask me what I have I can only tell anyone it is an HP Elite 180. I can't go in to the technical area because usally I don't know what he h--- i am talking about. . Withof course a clean install...the computer was new and had never seen any of this earlier- I could not play CFS3- briefly. I've done all the patches in the past, had saved them to an external hard drive so I had that taken care of. It is the inital bs with CFS3 that I cannot get past. Everything you have said I had done. Without any mistake. So where I am at? I appreciate your help but even though I don't know much about computers; I do know about installation, moving files (being a FS9, FSX member for many years and etc)....

I've read in the past of members using Win 7 and not having any issues. I have searched the forum, but honestly the forum search is not too good. So, in installing the CFS-2, putting the patch in and I am unable to get it to play (for the short time) as we've had to do. Just in case this was not necessary. The only thing I found in the FAQ is about Vista and administrator issues or what you call it?, and changed that. As much as Win 7 is nice, if it is that much problem for OFF and HITR, then one will have to go.. And I can't think of a sim that has been more emjoyable but I just put up with the headaches any longer. If anyone that is using Win 7 know what I might do, or lead me in a direction, I will give it a try. Otherwise its back to FSX and will wait until Phase4. But it would have to be a whole new deal and be compatible with Windows 7 or I won't purchase it. Thanks

Of course the worst can happen in any given circumstance. I can't remember the exact particulars, but not many years ago over the Rocky mountains of Colorado; I think it was two brothers went up in a single engine plane to sprinkle the ashes of their mother--and what happened? They crashed and died. I don't remember the cause of the accident, but that is a curse of the unlucky..or whatever it would be called.

Ordered a new computer...Its going to take some time to get back into the swing of things, and with some other committments it might be another month. But I am watching and enjoying all of it. Plus our weather has now turned for the better and there is lots of fishing to do Simon.

Great information eveyone. Being more familiar with the USAF, USN and not so much with the other branches, I sure enjoyed that video, Stingray. Often have admired the work that I have seen and heard about the Coast Guard when at Port Aransas, TX and other nearby areas along that coast. Their presence was certainly seen and felt especially during the buildup toward Iraq not too many years back. Like Lou and others have said, those years were some of the best of our lives. At the time I served (1967-1971 as USAF Security Policeman) , all I could think about was when I was getting discharged. Within a few years of my discharge, all I could think about was the great times and comrades I had known and some of who I had lost in Vietnam. To all those who served. THANK YOU

Good luck with your flights, Winston. Multiplayer is a goal of mine, but with no computer (gaming) in recent weeks and the near future, looks like I will be waiting for some time in order to try and join some online time. I have been involved with a lot of that with a group I am involved with in FSX/FS9 and it is great to be involved in that way. So hope continues to get smoother for the group that participates

Good to have you back in the air/area again, Lou. Poor ole Chappy, I still wonder about him. And "Christian" (from the Did, Krauts vs. Crumpets) is making his way back to the front. Seems he got side tracked and looks as if it might be another THREE (ouch) weeks before he is re-instated.

I had a 1979 (I think) Datsun as a second car. Like Ovs, this car was nothing short of being held together in any fashion possible. It was silver when I got it and painted it red with about 7 cans of spray paint for a total of about $30.00 at the time. It was rusting so bad on the floor, I took sheet metal to keep my feet off the pavement. Drove it thru the garage door one night when I was trying to park it. I had a little too much (beers or whatever) and didn't have the clutch all the way depressed as I was turning off the ignition. The family car was a boring Mercury Capris station wagon that had no class whatsoever.

I would do just about anything to get behind the controls of an airplane. At my age, it is financially impossible to do so without sacrifrices by my wife and etc, it will never happen. I've always dreamed but never dreamed "big" enough. Yes, given the chance to go back in time, I would have without hesitation. I would have preferred flying for the Brits if it could have been in the Tripe or the Brisfit. Well, at least I have my 1982 Gold Wing that is still hanging in there.

What a wonderful find and experience. A similar situation happened with me. My grandfather was in the US Navy during WW1. He passed away when I was about 10 years and the memories are feint. A few years ago my aunt gave me his little notebook that he had carried with him. Throughout the pages there were poems, verses of songs, notes he had made about his visits to different ports and etc. He had even made accounts of money that he had loaned to shipmates and etc. I broke out into an almost uncontrollable spell of crying, that I couldn't explain at the time. However, I lost my father (his son) in a tragic accident about 10 years before that and I it brought a sorrowful and yet joyful link to my father that I had not known. In fact my avatar is of my grandfather that I speak of. This heritage thing is powerful beyond all imagination. You indeed have a treasure in your hand and heart, Macklroy
