  1. Falcon, pm me youe email address, I might have something that will interest you
  2. The two most notable sightings of an Su-27 were in the regions of Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park. Accordingly, an F-117 had been seen in the same time frame as the flankers were observed on both occasions. Other Soviet aircraft in United States hands have included the MiG-15, MiG-17, plenty of MiG-21's, MiG-23, Su-22, Mi-2, Mi-8/17, Mi-24, Mi-14 and the Ka-32. What I love best is though, the account of when one of the no longer used Mig-21's worked its way into delivery to a USAF Museum... What I would have given to have been there
  3. The mapping for the previous MiG-23 models by the Mirage Factory is virtually the same to the MiG-27 model released by USAFMTL. So any of those skins that you see in that download directory linked by Coolhand should work almost perfectly with the '27 model.
  4. Marcfighter, you are definitely one mean model making machine! Way to go man

    Ya'll Take Care

Good luck Dave, god speed to your recovery mate.
  6. Hey Rampstrike, I've been meaning to get back to you on this. I have in fact redrawn the stock F-15A skin in high rez at 2048 px square and am in the slowest of all processes of making a new skin out of it. I shall see what I can do about those schemes you have mentioned though. If you want to do a new set of low viz nation decals, it would be worth downloading the decal tutorial here at combatace. That will help you understand how nation decals are organised. Also, to make the decals themselves, if you don't fancy splashing out some money for a program, there is a very reputable painting program called 'The Gimp' that many members who skin use.
  7. Thats what I've been looking into. However, my luck has pretty much been null in terms of finding good shots of pilot outfits on the net. I went to Duxford Air Museum a few weeks ago and managed to get a nice high rez version of this though:
  8. Very true. My own mother knew two men who were arrested for links to the IRA and found guilty of smuggling arms and weapons into the country. One of the most complex histories to a country I know of. My friend's dad was also shot in Northern Ireland when he was in the paras. I could ask him him about it for you if you like?
  9. There used to be a make shift high rez pilot template in the form of Diego's plain pilot bitmap, however, due to some circumstances he has pulled all of his work from public domain. I've been thinking of trying to skin a high rez pilot, just need the time in between other things to get round to it.
  10. Nice vid Fubar. Am I right in thinking that what you've achieved in that video is networked sams incorporated in the carrier fleet?
  11. I'd go with that Wrench says, resizing them and then using the original layers as a good guide to the new stuff to draw. Even if you only want your skins at 1024 px square size, primarily draw them at 2048 px square. This allows for potential high rez skins and better smoothing and anti-aliasing when re-sizing them down. I've used the stock templates to redraw some 3rdW aircraft and they've been great as guides. You've probably heard of this site, but it may help you if you plan to redraw the templates... www.simmerspaintshop.com
  12. Over at Marcfighter's site he has templates for nearly all the MiGs in SF I think. You may have to go through the pages of his skins and it will on the left hand side of the page. On the combatace home page, there's a link to his site in the top right corner. EDIT: There we go, Soviet Templates
  13. Amazing work Marc! Thank you very much indeed
  14. For skinning, the main programs to go for are Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, none of them come cheap, and the latest versions can be quite pricey. However, if you're not looking to splash out a few bob, there's another free skinning program called the Gimp that several skinners in the community have been very happy with. If its skinning you're really looking to go into, head on over to www.simmerspaintshop.com for some great help and tutorials for flight sim skinning.
  15. I believe that there is a B-52 that is currently a WIP from Prowler1111 solely for the SF/WOV/WOE series.
  16. http://walkarounds.airforce.ru/avia/rus/my...v/m-4/index.htm There's a few, looking forward to this bird Kout
  17. Know what you mean. Skinning takes up most of my time, and then some modelling.
  18. Many happy returns!
  19. Instead of going to attributes in the image sub menu, go to Stretch/Skew. Then according to what size bitmap you have apply, the appropriate percentage to get it to the desired resolution. For example, if you had a 2048 pixel square bitmap, you would enter 25% in both horizontal and vertical parameters if you wanted the bitmap resized to 512 pixels square. When you do this don't worry about having the bitmap selected with the selection tool.
  20. Dam, those foxbats are looking....well.... DAM!
  21. The one in the pics is the K model Ghostrider, however there are two other variants as well. I shall be able to confirm them later.
