I think for 1 and 3 you're just reading into it man. LGBs or Laser guided missile never actually literally "ride" the beam. It's just a term man and semi-active RADAR homing does that, the weapon actively seeks the transmitted radar signals therefore requiring the radar. KInda like the TOW description above. And I'd Google proportional nav as you can find that answer better through self discovery as at one time I could tell you but now I just plain don't remember.

And a try on my end using the targeting pod effect didn't work out I just got a white square regardless. -
It's a harder process when you're starting a skin. Plus the fact that FC is busy most of the time so I tend to take it slower versus input from him. Basically I take it slow in this case so he has some time to figure out what I'm doing is what he wants and therefore not getting ahead of him. However recreating a template is the longest, as when I was still active in my LOMAC days it took me a total of 18 hours to have a usable MIG-29 template for a request.
