  1. Isn't it though! I wish I could just hire a camera team and have them shoot ... hey I know a guy with his own film company ... hold that thought.
  2. That is the most chilling thing I've ever heard. And like Tyhpoid said no expected this to be real. All the people asking if this is Real World even one person said never had so much "real world" stuff in an exercise. The one lady even seemed to take this as an exercise.
  3. Whoa I thought he was dead.
  4. Wow. I heard that day Air Traffic Controllers did a great job doing the impossible getting planes to land in the amount of time they did.
  5. Hey I found more videos of Jetstream and during the opening five minutes there are some fighter pilots telling their accounts of being scrambled to intercept airliners during 9-11. I figured some of you may be interested to hear those accounts. Keep in mind it's the first five minutes that may interest you ... but I'm assuming the other 40 minutes may interest you as well too. Students learning how to intercept bogies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecWzu2zdRbQ
  6. FC, Ohh. I gotcha. Because there would be parked planes there ... out of curiosity as I study the diagram more. I'm wondering what's the penalty box? Is that for suspicious aircraft or something?
  7. Sheez man. When it rains it pours huh? RIP and may France have a break ... Edit: Nice avatar by the way.
  8. Thank you FC and Typhoid for taking the time to answer my question. I can see how that makes sense to get everyone grouped up so they can punch through a storm. Now about those taxi instructions ... I decided to have a little fun and attempt to make sense out of the map (this is of course assuming like you mentioned FC there aren't any other obstacles in the way. So if I understand those instructions correctly .... Roper is a slight pervert, so you take a taxi with Victor, you cross 12th street, and meet your Papa and grab some Whiskey and talk to a Yankee about the Yankees and then you hold up a short Mike... Okay seriously this is what I got. And just wow. Wow. I mean ... wow.
  9. Thank you! Whoa ... talk from the frying pan into the fire! Hey I wanted to ask this somewhere here on this site (But since you're a flight officer I'll ask here) there was another clip featuring these same students learning how to fly close to each other (Looked as if they were practicing to be Blue Angles). So why must pilots learn to fly that close to each other? Is it so they can mask numbers on radar or something? There was a part where one had to fly so close the exhaust from the lead plane was rattling his.
  10. I did some more digging and apparently this show got cancelled ... I wish I had the money I'd bring it back and make it a CombatACE exclusive ... I think it's cool myself. I do think it's messed up though that 1) They couldn't go to another military base and 2) They had no priority ... but it's a busy airport so I can understand why. Just sayin
  11. Seeing things like that just remind me how small we are...

    Give blood!

Powerful words there. Speaking of being forgotten ... never mind I'll start another thread for that.

    Give blood!

I did not know donations were down across the nation. But I hope this gives some of you some peace of mind. There are technologies out there which are improving each day that are replacing the need for blood transfusions (for certain procedures and situations). These technologies are quickly gaining some traction because they are healthier and provide a speedier recovery when compared to the transfusion. I'm not saying don't give blood. I just thought some of you might find that interesting. And could perhaps have a peace of mind knowing that while donations are down there is tech out there that can get the job done. It's a good thing that people take some time to help other people out and I admire that. And not simply helping out just to say they did but helping people out because they want to. I still stand by my earlier statement in saying that's a big freaking needle.
  14. One of my favorite aircraft. I don't know why really I just love it.

    Give blood!

Damn that's a big ass needle.
  16. If I had the money ... I'd buy you one ... some beer ... and a camera. Because that sounds like viral video material that could be called Rudders and Balls. Honestly I don't see anyone could use those things in the first place. I've tried just the ball and ... well that's classified so never mind.
  17. I had no idea these existed ...
  18. Am I the only one that, when looking at a website featuring an item or items which don't have the price mentioned, does not want to know what the price is?
  19. Ergonomic Chair is what I've been told and the people that used them said it was the best thing to get but they ain't cheap. I'm looking to get one those chairs myself because mine looks like it went through hell.
  20. RIP I have two movies he was in too (Days of Thunder, The Feds)
  21. Lot's of cool places to visit so ... Where are the good pubs? You can't visit all those neat places on an empty stomach ...
  22. I know Ham operators in my area come in pretty damn handy when tracking tornadoes. They have classes all over the place when the season starts (I can never catch one). As far has how they do it I have no idea. But if you're in tornado alley I'm sure it'd be one those the more the merrier type things. Meteorologist rely on those people just as much if not more so than their radars when twisters hit.
  23. Understandable. Once again thank you for sharing that awesome story.
