F-111s problem
UllyB replied to RustyKurnass's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
From your pictures it seems that is wrong data written in plane's dataini file, in the loadout section. Check the syntax there. Or...you don't have the pylons loaded in your weapons pack, Check the weapons pack. orrr...both :) -

Transport features puts that plane on a random list of appearing in the theater you wanna see it. The bad part is that it will appear in pairs of two plane into a default formation. For Air Assault you have to have "paratroopers" disguised as ...bombs (don't laugh) in order to work. That's in a nutshell. And no, they were made for...past projects that he (TK) abandoned them as time went by. With a little imagination and a little edit (formation.ini and other files responsable for the formation number, I don't remember now which ones exactly), I think one can make appear just one instead of two, to be more realistic. They work well if you set them up for a campaign. You will need to add them (the models you want as transports to appear) to the list in campaign files and they will appear randomly in the operation theater from time to time. Of course you will have to pay attention to each transport aircraft to correspond in its files for the period you have in mind for your campaign etc. -

Here are the last news about the project(s). The FCK-1 project will be taken over by GKABS team. GKABS , as we all know him is an all-involved person in many projects , including his own, and he personally wanted to make sure that he and his team will deliver exactly what you all wanted and vote for. That said, the project commencing will start in the coming future. Please stay tuned for more news about it. The SU-34 project is halted for the time being, we have here the same problem, no 3D Max specialist present, to prepare the plane for SF2 environment, make the UV mapping etc etc. I will still search for the "best man" as I did all this time that pasted, but as you all know it's not easy job to convince someone to do that, even if you are ready to pay one's hard work. If anyone can give here a hand it will be appreciated, taking into consideration that the 3D model is already built. Thank you for your patience and let's hope that before the year ends we'll have the both planes flying.:) -

take a look here, it might help in your situation: I suggest you read carefully what MigBuster advises. Also it might be a good idea, if you screwedup the installation and now you don't know what is what, to uninstall completely everything, and I mean... EVERYTHING with Thirdwire label on it, and reinstall after the model indicated in the KB thread by MigBuster. I hope you know to work with Windows registry, if you don't PM me and I'll help. Pay attention, too of what WRENCH suggested in his last post. -

When you are not sure/don't know what you're doing, keep very close an eye of what you are actually doing. -
Better luck next time. Didn't you learn anything about how facebook makes politics on their website ? They make out of the blue 10.000 more trigger-happy accounts and put them to vote against everything that moves on the website. Easy as pie ! LOL

As far as I know, it wasn't. I never saw it here.

Weapon parameters are the key here. Use weapon editor and adjust them accordingly if you are sure that you know what you're doing. Don't toy with them if you don't know what you're doing. Usually weapon packages, made here by CombatAce veterans (Ravenclaw is one nick that comes to my mind now) around are adjusted and realistic. Use them and try resist temptation to do things...better.

Does that happen ...on the laptop you just have plugged a...USB mouse ? If so, try a cable one and you'll see that the lag will disappear in...smoke If you are wondering what has a USB mouse got to do with that, when you are touching just the keyboard, think again, I has to do with that. USB cheap mice have very big lag , especially if you are using in swift succesion keys on its keyboard. A professional USB game mouse doesn't have these problems, who would pay 100+ buck for such device ? Part of the problem are IRQs and the device controller. An interrupt request (IRQ) is a signal sent to a computer's processor to momentarily stop (interrupt) its operations. The signal is usually sent by a hardware device to interrupt the processor so the device gets some time to run its own operation. The device controllers for each device (the USB mouse here) you have plugged into your motherboard and the IRQs work together. So...

If I were you and have the means, I would try to see if it works flawless in Win 7. My opinion is that It should work. And if it's that , well...you will know at least how your're standing. In matters of games you don't get anything (except Direct X 12) extra from Win 10. If you are a practical guy and you straigthen up your priorities, you'll notice that what is the simple path you will have to walk on. Good luck!

Last time I've tested my joystick was when I was playing the game under Win 7. I never tried with win 10 or 11. Win 10 is not that forgiving as Win 7 was with some old software/programs. They kinnda eliminated almost all sorts of compatibilites without asking anyone if they would like that. If it wasn't for Direct X12, I would have been still running Win 7 even today on my pc.

That's an issue which will remain to be seen...AFTER the releasing of the SU-34 and AIDC F-CK-1 Ching -Kuo. ;) Until then my plate is ...full. We'll talk about how difficult is then, also. -

Well, I have good news and bad news :) The good news is that we managed to bring (don't ask how, for the moment LOL) both models , SU-34 and AIDC F-CK-1 Ching - Kuo. They are already saved in 3DMax format (and BOTH models are LEGIT, if anyone is wondering), they just need to be "worked"/transformed for SF2 environment only. The bad news is that the man responsable for the modelling bailed out on us kindda thing. I won't say more. Even so an esteemed collegue of CombaAce community agreed to help, in principle, but it would take some time extra. (I am just preparing you for the worst LOL). Meanwhile, for a week or two I will skimm the horizon (internet) and my relations to find a 3D modeller to work his magic on the models for preparing them for SF2. So I need you to be patient on this one. The main thing and the hardest part was solved, we have both models in 3D Max format, as I already stated above. If, by chance, you can recommend anyone with 3D Max skills please come forward with that. It will help a lot, I am open to suggestions. Here's a preview fo AIDC F-CK-1 Ching - Kuo 3D model: 3D Model Preview AIDC F-CK-1經國號戰鬥機(Blender),Taiwan (Update).mp4 As always, let me know what you think. Your input is important. -

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner: the Taiwanese AIDC F-CK-1 Ching - Kuo jetfighter. (22 votes). After the completion of the bonus plane (SU-34) which is for the time being into the pipes, the Taiwanese project will commence. I will keep you posted as usual. Any post poll commentaries are appreciated. :) -

When you have a problem do things in this order: - check first the KNOWLEDGE database - use the SEARCH function for your issue. Maybe you will discover that many others before you had this very issue you have and maybe they found a workaround or a solution to it. - if you can't find any match to your problem with search function, THEN come to general thread and try to be very specific about your issue you encountered.(pictures, movies, files etc) -
Common errors: - syntax is not correct - Pay attention to the YEAR when those 3D objects can appear. - The country they belong it's wrong - the country name they belong changed after a specific year (Soviet Union -> Ukraine after 1990) - the country you use the weapon for is not listed in NATION.INI file - Check if the object has export parameter TRUE Keep in mind that Mission Editor works with ...data you feed it. If you give it wrong data, the outcome can be spooky.
