  1. Yep, I'm a militant radical 7zip fundamentalist. ~> http://www.7-zip.org/ I noticed it was used by the mods at Column5 SF cold war downloads ( http://www.column5.us/ ). So tried it and never went back. Czech it out. I haven't tried IZarc....sounds interesting Coot.
  2. Man I gotta admit, I love the Follow The Money idea, which is most applicable to western central banking and warfare, and is a fave study of mine. Bermuda is not, and its not my baliwick but from a distance I love the methane idea exactly for the reason you give.... Gun:: That's exactly my thinking on this, which is why I suggest to some not to run around insulting others who believe in alot of popular stuff, only to be written off. It doesn't work, I know. I would say the missing, or lost since 1960, place of adventure/mystery is either undersea or space, or so I like to think. Since I don't pay much attention to the Bermuda stuff, I don't know, so I consider anything there as possible, including boring statistics but I do prefer the methane as, uh...."kewl." But you nailed something with the need for mystery and legends.
  3. pfft I don't even have sound on my computer, and don't ever plan on it. I jam stereo...or on a long really long mission over the pole, talk radio haha. It helps me relax during the dogfight woof woof
  4. Well, there is that lake somewhere in Africa that bubbles up CO2 and suffocates surrounding populations, so I wouldn't put it past Earth doing something similar with methane under the ocean.
  5. I always do that. By the V.50, I get it setup right, mostly. I'd should be airplane designer, open my own OKB. Thanks this is neat stuff.
  6. Do Camel Cigarettes. About 15 years back, I was in 7-11 or Lil Champ store. Inside the front door they had CAMEL display advertisement, you know the Cool Camel smoking with sunglasses. The display had the sharpest airplane design I ever seen. How so? The plane was Su-15, double delta wing...but... It had Mirage style conical inlets like yours...and... It was shown taking off, with the twin engine "swoosh" leading back to AIRCRAFT CARRIER on the water way below the plane. Totally fictional plane, but super sharp. Call it the Camel hehe.
  7. Years ago, my 2nd physics class, a friend of teach -- at community college, the best! -- subsituted for regular teach (hardass, student of "niceguy" Weiskoph who was student of Pauli). After class we rapped and he said he worked on SR-71 design. I asked him how they did that with SLIDE RULES?? He said HAHA he didn't think about it like that, but they did it anti-ways. Dam!
  8. The OUT file is uploaded. To get it, re-download the beta. The inclusion of the OUT file is the only change.
  9. Okay fellas, Timmy sent me the current OUT file. I'll re-upload the 32beta with the file tonight. Thanks Timmy this ROCKS!!
  10. Ah, yea Silverbolt. That chopper shot stunned me no end. Very nice. Good angle on that Miragee too!
  11. Ah okay. I am seeing something totally different.
  12. I think somebody came up with a way to have multiple tank loadouts, but its tricky, and it may be old SF. You seem to be doing New SF??? Can you do a F-100 copy, another plane, cammo plane, with cammo tanks? Just replace the tank bmp? Its common, although confusing, to see weapons with different texture names, at least for old SF. Don't know about New SF.
  13. Winds can be tricky. They can be defined both in Enviro and Mission files, depending on how you use your sim. Like, if you do single missions, you need the Mission file to have the wind data. uh, I think. Been awhile ror. FC:: I tried it on other planes but it may have something else related going on. For example the AI Data or something else combining together in the engine section. When I get time, I'll figure it out. Not worried about it anymore. I KNOW its possible just from that screenshot. Thanks to VeltroF102 and C5.
  14. mmm, an anti-aircraft gun, one of the BIG ones, pointing at the sky, would be good icon for Gun Editor or Gun Data.
  15. Okay, an example. Say an icon for gun editor. Do a Glock. lol, or some aircraft gun. Focus on the muzzle, looking back maybe, ie...try for a small 3D depth perception effect, you know like railroad tracks. Lots of possibilities for Weapon Editor, Weapon folder, Weapon data file, etc... Your missile launch icons are greatl; mainly the versions with the changing background colour that approximates the sky getting darker higher off the horizon. The way you do it in those versions, both blue and green, has a modernistic surrealistic tone to it. But that does not mean unrealistic. In fact just the opposite. There are two places to find hardcore surrealism in nature: (1) The surface of other planets, and (2) the atmosphere of Earth -- the air warfare environment when at its visual best. AwSim
  16. Puff clouds always moved since TK slipped them into the sim a few years back. You are not blind, you just gotta go with the wind sometimes. Any screenshot of cirrus vs terrain clash? *** I just saw something for the FIRST TIME --- AI afterburning dash following waypoint, 800km/hr. And this is 2006 SF. Something in Veltro/C5 F-102 engine data allows this. I noticed you get afterburner at 65% throttle. I'll have to figure this out, as its really nice feature to have for, say, AI piloted B-58s or Vigilantes for example. Look ma....
  17. Trees I think. Same here to a slight degree. Are you running any of my (Lexx) weirdo mods? When I dropped one of my clip distances for my non-standard usage of cockpit panels, trees shimmered as you described. I mostly fixed it but its a tight balance.
  18. Ok, I'm in. I like the more deep surreal icons. Forget the text. Can't read it. Pics can be just as informative. Maybe its a Xen thing.
  19. mmm, very interesting, something like this could be useful for LOTS of stuff besides SF.
  20. I'll get with Timmy for the current OUT file. Haven't heard from him in a few days.
  21. okay it works for you guys. Can't wait to see ya'll in the screenshot thread. I'll try to schedule a cameo appearance here by Timmy. Good they don't have an FMshot or Avionicshot thread. Those need some work.

J32B Lansen interceptor BETA, based on A32A model by Timmy. For classic olde style StrikeFighters Series 1. Good A32/J32 resources here... Canit, deep stuff on all SAABs ~> http://www.canit.se/%7Egriffon/aviation/ Vectorsite SAABs ~> http://www.vectorsite.net/avsaab.html -------- A32A 3D model by Timmy. Skins by Timmy. Cammo 2048 and smaller cammo 512 version included. Metal silver at 512 only. Uses Thirdwire F-4B cockpit for now. I (Lexx) don't have time to research the attack version (A32A) loadouts, so this is somewhat simpler interceptor (J32B) beta for us to start with. OUT file included. If time permits, Timmy may work on dedicated J32B 3D model with slight differences. Timmy says: Model and Template are available for those wanting to work with them. 4 30mm Aden 4 Rb24 Swedish Sidewinders Basic setup for 12 Swedish 18cm-m49 air-ground rockets but this is just an example use of Timmy's great pylons. Timmy made this as A32 so we have 12 pylons here if they are used (invisible if not). Conformal nonjettisonable belly tank. Swedish rockets 18cm-m49 *and* 15cm-m51 are in Olde SF Weapon Pac, along with Rb24. Thanks to who made those. DECALS:: I placed the basic national insignia decals over Timmy's painted skin insignias. You choose which method to use. I still don't know how SF uses unit numbers, since my personal campaign can't use the Thirdwire dynamic campaign generator and I'll eventually need to program my own. So, no decal numbers nor units for now. Beta flight model is derived from Hunter/F-86D and basically tweaked to J32B. Climbs too fast, a bit too high Mach -- 0.96 vs 0.91 level Hi. Decreasing lift/drag might help this. Beta avionics is F-4E but basic radar performance (not display) tweaked towards J32B levels. Shortest selectable track range is 1km to allow good radar gunnery approach. Everybody is encouraged to work the flight model and avionics I ran out of time for. Air-air rocket pods don't work in the sim for AI planes, and the fix Wrench and I worked on does not fire too well under AI control. So no interceptor rocket pods here for now. Maybe we can eventually figure something out, as I'd like to have air-air rckt pods for this and PVO interceptors like MiG-15 and things like that. I am staying with Olde SF and not upgrading yet -- if ever -- so the FM/Avionics are rough but workable and it will be some time before I get round to deeply learning FM and AVIONICS design for the practical goal of building and comparison testing all files for all SAC/NAVY/RAF/Swedish and PVO aircraft needed for my own strategic campaign between 1947-1971, and making them compatible with the game AI programming in this role. RWR is F-4E but it won't show in F-4B cockpit. Go Tweak!
