No they do work if they are fired correctly. Which missile are you taking about? - what radar does your jet use? - any thing before the AIM-7M was pretty useless anyway - also what are you firing against?? - if the enemy jet has ECM / chaff then theres a good chance you wont hit anything. any SAHM missile fired from distance wont work against an enemy AI with a RWR who can break the lock easily rendering the missile useless.

They dont spawn at all - only on runways before taking off. They are there - but if you are using your eyes to find them - you need a high res monitor and a trackIR ideally - with the trackir you can zoom in which is essential to spot them. If you dont have these: keep pressing the target keys T etc and use padlock Order your wingies to engage air Look on the Map Use F6

You may want to wait for the new model ;)
