  1. 2200BHP in a Vauxhall Victor!!! - totally nuts No surprise to me that 1 bloke in a shed makes a car faster than corperations can - people have been doing that for years - they dont often hit 2200bhp thou
  2. This looks interesting - was posted at the TW forums - every peasant with a rifle indeed!! "Captured North Vietnamese Film - Secret Air Defense Operations by the NVA in North Vietnam" http://www.realmilitaryflix.com/public/293.cfm Check out the length of the F-105 AB plume on 6mins (unless its been hit of course)
  3. That does look totally amazing - the statics have always affected my system re FPS - but then again its low end now
  4. Here too http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6575
  5. Thud Ridge is good - Col Broughton used to make recordings when he was flying so he could refer to them later.
  6. But what is the history of that jet though - do they know if that plane was actually in service with the IAF at all - or was it supplied later to sit in a museum when it was retired from another country?
  7. The campaign probably only runs when you are in flight from what I can tell - theres no feedback to say its constantly running. In Falcon 4AF you have a clock constantly ticking and can manipulate and see objects when you are not in flight - so that defo is running the whole time in real time. in the SF series it depends on the game how a campaign feels - for example in SF2 Rolling Thunder - even on hard settings you get assigned missions that are spaced out over the 4 years - so any targets that were destroyed in a previous mission have long been repaired by the Chinese Engineer core ;) Whereas in WOI the campaigns are over a short period of months - so targets and SAM sites destroyed in the previous game are still destroyed - giving a better sense of you being in a real time war - and evidence that the campaign does remember destroyed objects - however I would say (without asking TK) that objects are only affected during game play. If you press escape before landing - you would assume the game stops there and just takes into account of what has been destroyed - but i think only TK would know for sure.
  8. Just create a new folder called "weapons" in the objects folder. c:\..........\FirstEagles\Objects\Weapons
  9. We'd let Hitler out on compasionate leave these days - well when I say we I mean the human rights/terrorist sympathisers / nutcases that the government seems to listen too. Why dont they just take him to the cemetery so he can piss over the graves!! Bottom line if he is guilty of murdering 200+ people - human rights DO NOT apply period!! Luckily this guy will still die of a pretty horrible prolonged death if he actually has cancer - so thats one positive to take.
  10. GBU-8, 10 or 12 are laser guided bombs in the stock game
  11. 1 way - for example Use the weps editor - and give the gun pod a name in its "Station Code" field like F106GUN. Then in the F-106A_Data.ini: [GunPodStation] ............ ModelNodeName=GunPod PylonMass=55 PylonDragArea=0.02 SpecificStationCode=F106GUN <<-----------------------------
  12. Happy Birthday Jimmy - have a good one
  13. Just seen this on the BBC - tragic news for a superb display team!
  14. The IR display will only come up when you load and select Mavericks - the display comes from the Missile itself For bombing select the bomb and use the CCIP pipper on the HUD (you can select ripple and timing if you like) For rockets just strafe em simple hey
  15. should be some info on here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=26
  16. Um the exe file you download from Thirdwire is your game to keep - so Keep it in a safe place after you have installed the game - make sure you back it up to CD or a flash drive
  17. Sorry - who exactly are you replying to here?? - or is it just an excuse to launch a totally pointless rant over nothing - and not only that but blame people on here.....for silencing them - wtf!!! - thats news to me!!!! Every one has a choice of whether they wish to play MP or not - the new series doesn't have MP due to the reasons stipulated by TK on his forums - he is well aware that some people like MP and wont buy the games because of this. Maybe MP will be added with a later patch - maybe it wont - he has his business plan and he is sticking to it. The MP people can advertise the servers they use all they like on any forum cant they - theres even a virtual squadron forum on here for MP players - shout as loud as you like! - there must be plenty of other MP players out there to join you.
  18. All the inis Ive seen apart from the campaign ini files are already in Unicode in SF2
  19. In my experience: Attack will try to evade and get low - like the IL-28 for example. Fighter will attack you if they have guns - but if they have no guns and missiles they just seem to evade or make a run for the target. Bomber will fly high in formation and rely on guns if they have them.
  20. The latest patch for SFP1 is October 2008 - which is quite a different game to the 2006 version - loads of new code etc Some of those jets may not work properly in the 2006 version - check to see what year they were made. ALso you may have ones created before better avionics were put into the games - so check for updated versions. Patch is on here http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads.htm - but you cant really patch a game youve added mods too - so take the mods out - or start again.
  21. What I thought - and renamed Dagger - Israel may have kept a few possibly though?
  22. Sad news - but he had an exceptional innings The Les Paul Standard was my all time fave - have owned a few too.
  23. Apart from F-16s it tends to be whatever I'm interested in at the time - through reading books etc. ini edits and basic skinning no problem - although most wont believe the hours that go into my substandard work sometimes!!
