  1. There's allways a calm before a storm...
  2. Teras, I wan't it to be still the sim-lite formula similar to as it is, just some more gameplay mehanics added to it, some new avionics modes (It's F-14 after all) and such plus of course the eye-candy that is there judging by screens
  3. I care more for gameplay mechanics (multi-weapons ships, helicopters, targetable ASMs) terain engine and pure visuals improvements than pure new planes content, I'm sure those in powers here (DAVE and bunch) will start sort of "SF2NA: Enhanced OOB" mod with extra units etc days after release. Can we program new avionics and engine and such? No, so let's hope TK focuses on those, the new planeset as per WIP shots already looks impressive to me BTW given the "no cash bugdet title" standard answer
  4. lxsapper, GH3 differens MUCH from the GH2 (which you really should try!) as I changed my approach to treemods in general, also GH3 was started for Wrench's Darwin map not Nam.
  5. 109? uh oh, on hold right now I'm affraid, please be patient
  6. Happy New Year guys!
  7. we'll s**t ourselfs figuring out how they did the terrain in Max for next two weeks after the release (Kevin I'm looking at you!)
  8. I have to credit Epizikl for providing the graphics! (Where's he anyway?!)

  12. what's Xbox?
  13. Prowler111, brother I feel the same! The Thing 2011 isn't that bad, in fact I think it's suprisingly good given the original behind it's trying to catch with.

    Birthdays

    Happy Birthday gang! :drinks:
  17. there are plenty of Belgium variant planes in downloads section for Series 1 (that's how we call it anyway opposeed to SF2 serie)
  18. welcome partiorDJ have you peeked into the Strike Fighters Knowledge Base (knows as KB)? A lot of interesting reading awaits you there http://combatace.com/forum/99-thirdwire-woewoiwovsf-1-knowledge-base/ and true, most switched to Series 2 which has better graphics, better optimization and tons of new features
  19. Great terrain my friend! Of course I'm spoiled big time by WIPs of new terrain engine, but your version is also very nice. Some interesting texture, tile work too!
  20. I think these will be static, but who knows
  21. at least that your perfectly clearly voiced opinion gave us new stunning water Dave so please, criticise some more
  22. Hyped up too
  23. or maybe vertex color channel being used
  24. similar to IL2, format I'm bit familiar with -I guess global colormap defining types of overlaying textures (rock, snow, grass etc) transitioning one to other per that colormap (which of course could be grayscale) Also IIRC FarCry terrain editor used similar thing (did few maps for it back in the days) but of course used a lot of detail textures for close proximity to player, IIRC Chrome engine used similar way too (the first one at least) and some other titles. There are still tiling textures but not exactly the same these are now in example I don't think these would be rotating ones also transitions between types seem to be done in engine/map not on tile (good news!!!) but that doesn't explain some sharp nice transitions between glacier ice and rock/volcanic rock ones visible in few areas on A-7 shot edit: looking closely at new terrain shots -I have no idea in fact... looks like global hires texture
  25. also in the Tomcat over carrier shot, I see some difference in waves pattern, those closer to camera are different than these further, interesting, Fubar512 WILL have something do play with
