  3. Breguet 693 - France 1940

    GBA I/51 France 1940

    Breguet BR-693 (13 aircraft)
The Breguet 693 was a light bomber that usually carried 8 50kg bombs.
When they were delivered, the Breguets were popular with their crews, although the unreliable engines in the Br-691 caused headaches. Only in March 1940 were the first combat-worthy Br-693s delivered, and there were now five squadrons to equip: GBA I/51, GBA II/51, GBA I/54, GBA II/54, and GBA II/35, with a theoretical complement of 13 aircraft each.

It showed promise in its role and all Breguet variants (691,693 and 695) flew 500 sorties against the German invasion. 79 Br-693s were lost in action.

It seems most Br-693s went into service without underwing codes. While there are plenty of pictures of this aircraft in Vichy colours, it didn't serve outside metropolitan France and didn't see combat after the Armistice.

  4. Potez 633 - Indochina

    Potez Pz-633. Tonkin, French Indochina

During World War II, Thailand took the opportunity of French weaknesses to reclaim previously lost territories in 1904 and 1907, resulting in the French-Thai War between October 1940 and 9 May 1941.

This single Pz-633 flew recon missions in Indochina against the Thais.

    Enjoy!

  5. Potez 633 B2 Grec

    Potez 633 B2 Grec

The supply agreement for 24, twin-engine Potez 633 B2 Grec bombers, was signed in January 1938 with the delivery deadline expiring in 1 year. Finally 13 airplanes were delivered but one of them was destroyed with French crew at Tanagra Air Base on the delivery flight. The remaining 11 airplanes were confiscated by the French upon the break of the war.

The Greek Potez 633 had bombing configuration, except one that was delivered with photographic equipment. Hydraulic variable-paced propellers, F.R. radio, periscopic Bronzavia type bombing sight, OPL 36 fixed gunner sight, GPU rails for 4 or 2 bombs were among their equipment.

They took part in the operations in 1940 - 1941, with the 31st Bombing Squadron, until their final immobilization due to the lack of spare parts.

  6. Belgian Gladiator MkI

    Gladiator MkI
1ère Escardrille de Chasse ("La Comète")/Ième Group/No.2 Air Regiment (Fighter)

    ********For Cocas' terrific Gladiator MkII********

Belgium had ordered 22 Gladiator Is during the summer of 1937. 15 aircraft were serviceable on 10 May 1940. Five were not in a flyable condition, 2 were lost prior to accidents prior to the commencement of hostilities.

I've included only 14 numbers in the pact as the 15th aircraft (no. 18) belonged to the commanding General and was not armed. While the exact serial numbers of all the active aircraft are not known, I have included the numbers of all the aircraft which were recorded as combat losses.

La Comète were based at Schaffen, just north of Diest. The base was attacked at 04:32hrs on 10 May 1940 with the loss of 3 Gladiators and 9 of the 11 Hurricane MkIs stationed there.

  7. Potez 633 - France 1940

    GBA I/51 France 1940

    Potez 633 B2 (5 aircraft)

In 1938 France ordered 449 Potez 633s but in May that year it was decided that all light bombers must have a crew of 3, so the aircraft was developed for export only. A bomb-bay filled the space between the plot and gunner in which the bombs were hung vertically.

35 aircraft (4 from a Chinese order, 20 from a Romanian order and 11 from a Greek order) were allocated to various squadrons in 1939-40 to fill gaps and to help transition pilots into the Breguet 693. These aircraft have "C", "G" and "R" in their serial numbers.

There were 20 aircraft in combat units (GBA I/51, II/51, I/54 and II/54) when the Germans invaded on 10 May 1940. GBA II/35 received the Potez 633 later that month. Only Potez 633s of II/51 saw combat, losing 5 aircraft.

A further aircraft, destined for China, got as far as French Indochina before being requisitioned into the Vichy Air Force for the defence of the colony.

There are issues with this skin that have to do with how the bmp file is mapped. That's why I've only done one aircraft out of the 4 that saw active service during the Battle of France.

FireFox has amended the aircraft but needs help to convert it to work in the game. Volunteers???
