  2. Cockpit & Ini Updates for Pakso's Yaks

    Cockpit Upgrade for Pako's Yaks (ie: Yak Pak Part 1) For SF/WoV/WoE/WoI

    This semi-inclusive package contains cockpit upgrades and many ini tweeks for the following Yaklovev aircraft made by Pasko:

    Yak-25 "Flashlight"
    Yak-25B "Brewer"
    Yak-25RV "Mandrake"

    It is desinged for use in a post 9/08 or 10/08 game install. These mods should work just as well in a non-patched version, but this has NOT been tested.

    Included in the package are complete cockpit folders for all 3 (since I'm kinda paranoid about someone =NOT= being able to figure out the same cockpit folder goes in all of them....this removes that possibility), that are basically repaints of the stock 3rdWire F-4B Phantom, but with lots of changes and stuff. The entire cockpit folder is included, as the F-4B exists in all versions of the game, I feel this a pretty safe move. A whole slew of updated/modificated/fiddled with inis are included, Using the "Stargetic Moves Method" pioneered by Lexx_Luthor, and with some repainting and "metricizing" of the readouts, they make a "passable" Soviet-style cockpit. Not perfect, mind you, but "Passable".
    The cockpit labeling is still in English, although the measurements themselves are using metric; ie: KMPH, MPS, Meters and Liters. I made the assumption that a "Russian" pilot would see the "Russian" labels in Cyrillic; so just pretend you're reading "Russian". Your brain is automatically translating :)

    Data and Loadout ini tweeks return the "WP,SOVIET" attachment types, to allow for usege in any Weapons Pak, or none -- HOWEVER -- the weapons will still need to be added to your stock WeaponsData.ini (for those NOT using the BunyPak ), or to the TMF Pak. The weapons themselves ARE included, in the new 'seperate folder' format pioneered by The Mirage Factory. This will create a cleaner, more readily accessable /Weapons folder without all them hundreds of loose files floating around.
    Where information has been available, or based on 'best guesses' in looking at the aircraft, landing lights have been added, and the running lights upgraded. The Flight Models have not been touched, so be advised in the post patch world of possible handeling issues. Oddly, the 'auto-speed' canopy seems to be working just the same as pre-patch; so it's been left alone.

    The main ini has been upgraded to the post 10/08 standard in regards to the "Shadow" section. Unfortunately, there are no damage tgas yet available. Perhaps I'll do them up someday...

    Also included are the MiG RWR sounds, and the "JetEngine2" wavs.

    Obviously, you'll need these 3 birds to install this package too. They're available at Column5's site, and (hopefully!) at Pasko's. In regards to the Flashlight, this is designed to totaly replace a much older cockpit mod I'd done 3 or 4 years ago....

    As you've all come to expect, there's a detailed, step-by-step readme enclosed that illuminates, elucidates, clarifies, and generally points the way for the necessary steps to install this Yak Pak Pt.1. And, of course the usual Notes and Other Nonsense section, which IS reccomeneded reading for it explinations and other diatribes

    Happy Hunting!
    Wrench
    Kevin Stein

    ps: please note that the RP-22 radar bmp shown in this screenie has bee replace by a much better one!

  5. A-6A DIANE bombing system

    Yeah right - dream on - this is actually just a CCIP sight to allow you some form of level bombing and relive those FOTI days

    Basic CCIP for A-6A to simulate a DIANE level bombing system.

    For Stock A-6A WOV (Version September 2008) only tested on Hard Avionics

    See the instructions file

    Issues:
    1. No Terrain Avoidance Radar mode with new avionics

    2. Unguided rockets uses the same CCIP sight - its an in game thing so you will just have to ignore it
    Its useless for targetting anyway.

  7. Tornado IDS cockpit repaint v.1.0

    Tornado IDS cockpit repaint v.1.0
    ---------------------------

    This is a repaint of AmokFloo's Tornado pit. I've recalibrated or moved some of the instruments, so make sure you are using the Tornado_IDS_COCKPIT.INI file included in this pack. I don't pretend for 100% accuracy due to a lack of good reference materials and engine limitations. Radar Ground Map mode works only in WOI and there is no Terrain Avoidance Mode so I hope TK will fix that in the upcomming patches.

    Original cockpit model by AmokFloo

    Installation:
    ---------------------------
    Extract it in your tornado folder overwriting all files. In your main tornado_*.ini file change the following lines:

    CockpitDataFile=Tornado_*_cockpit.ini
    AvionicsDLL=Avionics60.dll
    AvionicsDataFilename=Tornado_*_avionics.ini

    to:

    CockpitDataFile=Tornado_IDS_cockpit.ini
    AvionicsDLL=Avionics70.dll
    AvionicsDataFilename=Tornado_IDS_avionics.ini

    There is no .lod file included, so you still need the original model!

    This mod will enhance/change the stock F-15A_Baz avionics and create two additional F-15 versions with new avionics :
    - F-15C_Baz , depicting a early 80's version
    and
    - F-15C_AUP , depicting the F-15C after the Avionics Upgrade Program in 1999 onwards.

    This mod is not fully finished, I decided to release it as v1.0 but some symbols will be redone with more tweaks to the ini's in v2 .

  9. Solid State AN/APQ-120 Radar + DSCG Radar Scope & AS/ASG-26 Gun Sight Mod

    This is an attempt to create a working AN/APQ-120 digital radar utilizing the Avionics70.dll found in WOI. While not perfect, I enjoyed using the new radar so much I thought I would release it so others could enjoy as well.

    -AS/ASG-26 Gun Sight

    Functions Include:
    -----------------
    -Search Mode
    -Single Target Track
    -Air combat mode
    -Ground Map

    Other Features:
    ---------------
    -A modified "Green TV Filter" is included for use with TV guided munitions. To give a more realistic <low quality> imaging experience.
    -Radar scope and RWR screen overlays* are also included to give better contrast.
    -Custom radar icons
    -Simulated radar function ("B"sweep) graphics

  12. F-4ES Cockpit & HUD Upgrade Version 1.0

    F-4ES Cockpit & HUD Upgrade Version 1.0 by Ultramax

    This is my first serious attempt at 'cockpit conversion', so please be gentle guys! It was originally inspired
    by Doghouse's brilliant F-4ES 'Super Phantom II' upgrade and I thought to myself that the picture would be
    completed with a snazzy new cockpit to make the most of the Phantom's newfound versatility.

    Although I haven't tested it on them, I'm sure it would also make a brilliant addition to the F-4F ICE and
    Kurness 2000 upgrades.

    Contents:

    Cockpit: Hi-Res cockpit by sundowner
    RWR Display: Radar & TV display files by Wingwiner

    Avionics and HUD display files originated from the Mirage Factory F-15A

    PS: If I've forgotten to mention anybody please let me know.
    If you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact me on the forum and I'll be sure to
    respond ASAP.

    Installation:

    Just place all the files into your aircraft ini file and place these entries in the appropriate sections:

    CockpitDataFile=F-4ES_cockpit.ini
    AvionicsDataFilename=F-4ES_AVIONICS.INI

    You'll also need to have the F-4E_COCKPIT.LOD from SFP1 or SFG.

    BTW, don't forget to change 'avionics60' to 'avionics70' - otherwise it won't work!

    HAPPY HI-TECH FLYING!!

  15. Dassault Super Mystere B.2 Early-Mid life cockpit Ver2.0 (From CA_Stary's)

    This is mostly CA_STARY's work and you should quote him as the main author. All I did was add eighteen or so items/working features to his already brilliant cockpit. I used several Super Mystere color cockpit photos to bring it to better represent an early to mid-life Super Mystere B.2 cockpit.

    It has a round working afterburner warning light, a photorealistic lower instrument panel and the more standard WW2-type artificial horizon among other items listed in the readme. Thanks CA_Stary!!!!

    YOU NEED ONE of these games to be able to use it!

    3D .LOD file not included!

    This is a modification and repaint of Thirdwire's F-100D cockpit and CA_Stary's cockpit to better represent an early to mid-life Super Mystere B.2 cockpit.

    The Super Mystere was of the same generation/class as the supersonic F-100, but was smaller.

    Over Saykal, Israeli Super Mysteres encountered a pair of Syrian MiG-21s and although outclassed by the MiGs, shot both of them down.

    By the end of the first day of 1967 Six Days War hositilities, Super Mysteres had destroyed 5 aircraft in the air.

    http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hangar/2848/smbd.htm

    In 1975, Israel sold 12 complete airframes and 6 sets of spares to Honduras. The aircraft were involved in numerous border skirmishes with Nicaragua and were finally withdrawn from service in 1996.

    Ver2.0- Added eight amber and red warning lights to vertical windscreen braces as per photos.

  16. New Easy Radarscreen

    This is a new Radarscreen for those who had easy avionics.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    Just put in your Flight Folder and have fun. Back up your original files first!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    I tried to get a little more realistic feeling in it so it have to yellow markings on the screen. When Radar is at 25NM Mode, all targets on the outer circle are 15NM away and so in range for a AIM-120 shoot for example. Targets on the inner circle are 5NM away and in range for an IRM shoot. On the inner circle there are also 12,3,6,9 o´clock markings for better navigation.

    Hope you enjoy it

  17. Dassault Mystere IVA Cockpit

    A Cockpit mod of the Thirdwire Scooter's cockpit, to create the Israeli-modified Dassault Mystere IVA cockpit for use with Ajunaidr's incredible Mystere IVA (Available at the Combatace site at):

    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...mp;showfile=784

    Referenced from eight color cockpit photographs.

    Instruments and placards moved, eliminated and repainted.

    Individual instruments and placards in either French or English, as they were historically.

    Yes, Those are actual radios in the instrument panel...

    It includes a lead computing gunsight as per Wikipedia.

    The Dassault Mystere IVA was the French equivalent of the American F-86 Sabre. The Mystere was credited with at least six Vampire, Mig-15 and Mig-17 gun kills in Israel's wars.

    -The Mystere IVA also saw combat with the Indian Airforce airforce and reportedly shot down a Pakastani F-104. It participated in the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

    Mod by Richard "Pitts2A" Ordway, Thanks also to Frank Safrenek and Michel Gerard of Mirage Aircraft of Flightsimulator.com and to Thinus Pretorius for their invaluable numerous pics and emails about the Mystere IVA cockpits and images.

  18. RWR Symbology

    RWR Symbology and Sounds for Third Wire Sims

    by: Fubar512

    crash test dummies: Jarhead1 and USAFMTL "Dave"

    NOTE, these are not totally representitive of the RWR symbology that one might find in real combat aircraft. They are meant to make it somewhat easier to identify threat type (ground or airborne), and threat level (search, track, lock), for ease of game play. The symbols are set up as follows:

    S = ground based search radar
    Diamond with "T"=ground based radar in track mode
    Diamond with 'L"=ground based radar in acquisition mode
    Inverted 'V" with "S" below it=Airborne search radar
    Inverted 'V" with "T" below it=Airborne radar in track mode
    Inverted "V" with "L" below it=Airborne radar in acquisition mode

    The colored icons further help identify threat modes, as follows

    Green =Search Mode
    Yellow =Track Mode
    Red = Acquisition mode

    Instructions:

    Copy the RWR sub-folder of your choice (Green or Colored) and its contents into the aircraft's cockpit folder. The aircraft must have an RWR display to begin with, of course!

    Next, you must edit the following entries in that aircraft's avionics.ini to denote the path to the RWR symbol.

    (Please note that In the case of TW default aircraft, you will have to extract the avionics.ini from the objectdata.cat file, and place it in the aircraft's folder in order to edit it. You must download and use the SFP1E extraction utilty in order to do so.)

    [RWR]
    Type=3_RING
    AirSearchTexture=Cockpit/RWR/AirSearch.tga<---Note path statement
    AirTrackTexture=Cockpit/RWR/AirTrack.tga<---Note path statement
    AirLockTexture=Cockpit/RWR/AirLock.tga<---Note path statement
    GroundSearchTexture=Cockpit/RWR/SurfaceSearch.tga<---Note path statement
    GroundTrackTexture=Cockpit/RWR/SurfaceTrack.tga<---Note path statement
    GroundLockTexture=Cockpit/RWR/SurfaceLock.tga<---Note path statement
    SearchPosition=0.90
    TrackPosition=0.55
    LockPosition=0.15
    SearchSize=0.125<---adjust size to fit RWR display
    TrackSize=0.125<---adjust size to fit RWR display
    LockSize=0.125<---adjust size to fit RWR display
    SearchFlash=FALSE
    TrackFlash=TRUE
    TrackFlashRate=0.5
    LockFlash=TRUE
    LockFlashRate=0.1
    TrackSound=RWRTrack2.wav<----Sounds (optional)
    LockSound=LaunchWarn.wav<----Sounds (optional)

    Note the path statement in the Texture statement. This must be followed or the model will default to using the standard texures (icons).

    The Size statement is a variable that must be set by the user. I find that a size value of 0.125 is perfect for the F-15 series, and a size of 0.20 works well with the F-14, F-16, and F-18's display. You may need to experiment.

    Last, but not least, RWR sounds. I've included two extremely annoying ones for your enjoyment. You can use whatever sounds you want, by simply placing said sounds in the "Sounds" folder, and setting the statement as noted above. Note that sounds must always be monoaural .wav format. MP3 files, and stereo .wavs will not work in any TW sim.

    I've included a modified avionics.ini for the default Thirwire F-15A, as found in WoE and WoI, to help you understand what's involved, and to allow those of you who already have those sims to get up and running right away.

    USING THIS MOD UNDER "EASY AVIONICS"

    by: WarlordATF

    Now, When i installed it, It didn't work. I re-checked everything,re-read the readme and everything was done exactly right.

    But, I use Easy Avionics! Its simple to fix and i just wanted to provide instructions on how to make it work with Easy mode.

    All you have to do is...

    Copy the new TGAs, not the RWR folder, Just the new TGAs to your Flight folder and extract the EASYAVIONICSDATA.INI from the Flightdata.cat and edit it like this...

    [RWR]
    Type=3_RING
    AirSearchTexture=AirSearch.tga
    AirTrackTexture=AirTrack.tga
    AirLockTexture=AirLock.tga
    GroundSearchTexture=SurfaceSearch.tga
    GroundTrackTexture=SurfaceTrack.tga
    GroundLockTexture=SurfaceLock.tga
    SearchPosition=0.90
    TrackPosition=0.55
    LockPosition=0.15
    SearchSize=0.15<---Set Size to your preference
    TrackSize=0.15<---Set Size to your preference
    LockSize=0.15<---Set Size to your preference
    SearchFlash=FALSE
    TrackFlash=TRUE
    TrackFlashRate=0.2
    LockFlash=TRUE
    LockFlashRate=0.1
    TrackSound=RWRTrackSound.wav
    LockSound=RWRLockSound.wav

    And your done, this will give you a fully functional RWR and All RWRs will use the new symbols!

  19. Mig-19P (Radar Variant) Cockpit

    A Cockpit mod of the Thirdwire Scooter's cockpit, to create the Cuban-modified Mig-19P working-radar cockpit for use in Wrench's Mig-19P (or any other radar-equipped Mig-19).

    Download Wrench's Mig-19P aircraft here:
    http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5070

    Referenced from multiple color photos, and cockpit layout diagrams.

    Instruments and placards moved, eliminated, repainted and painted from scratch.

    Individual instruments in Russian as they were historically.

    The Mig-19 series flew combat and reportedly got kills in the Viet Nam war, the Arab-Israeli wars and the Indo-Pakistani wars.

    This aircraft is the one that reportedly sparred with Gary Power's overflying U2.

    The Mig-19P could easily outclimb the F-4 Phantom at about 35,435 ft/min vs the F-4s 28,500 ft/min.*

    Top gun training showed that when flying the Mig-19/21, you can often go pure vertical at the merge and often defeat the F-4....or just outturn the F-4 in the deep stall buffet if the F-4 tries to turn slowly too.**

    What is different compared to my Mig-19S cockpit:

    1. A radar display was added with correct range lines according to one diagram.

    2. The cockpit panel is a dark blue per color photos.

    3. The Mig-19P deleted one ammo counter between the pilot's legs as it was reduced to two NR-23 cannon to make way for the radar.

    4.The Mig-19P also deleted one red gun arming switch because the Mig-19P only had two internal cannons.

    5. Tens of other changes including instrument locations, instrument additions and color changes.

    For SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI.

    *Thanks to Wrench for the Mig-19P and its Mig-17PFU avionics.

    *Thanks to Charles for permission to use some gauges from the Meteor (Fuel gage and graphics).

    *Thanks to Lexx_Luthor for massive help on relocating instruments.

    *Thanks to The Trooper for the photos and coding on making the ADI (artificial horizon work upside down...no mean feat!)

    *Thanks to Thirdwire and TK for their sim and some instruments.

    Complete credits and history in readme.

    Instructions:

    1-Backup your files!

    2.Add contents to the Mig-19P aircraft file.

    3-When prompted, overwrite the files.

    More detailed instructions are included within.

    Just ask at the combatace forum if you have problems.

    Enjoy!

  20. Mig-19S Cockpit (Twin-Engine Fighter)

    A Cockpit mod of the Thirdwire Scooter's cockpit, to create the North Viet Nam-modified Mig-19S cockpit for use in the stock Thirdwire Mig-19S cockpit (or any other non-radar Mig-19).

    Referenced from multiple color photos, and cockpit layout diagrams.

    Instruments and placards moved, eliminated, repainted and painted from scratch.

    Individual instruments in Russian as they were historically.

    The Mig-19S was the Soviet Union's first supersonic fighter. It flew combat and reportedly got kills in the Viet Nam war, the Arab-Israeli wars and the Indo-Pakistani wars.

    The Mig-19S could easily outclimb the F-4 Phantom at 35,435 ft/min vs the F-4s 28,500 ft/min.* It also could out-accelerate the F-4 up to 465 knots.**

    Top gun training showed that when flying the Mig-19/21, you can often go pure vertical at the merge and often defeat the F-4....or just outturn the F-4 in the deep stall buffet with flaps down if the F-4 tries to turn slowly too.***

    Features:

    1. The exhaust gas temperature gauge (EGT) has the twin-engine version with two red circles in it.

    2. The gunsight is changed to the square ASP 5N gunsight with a square crash pad.

    3. The Russians added a distinctive six-light warning panel.

    4. The Mig-19 added three ammo counters between the pilot's legs.

    5. A large red and yellow landing gear handle was added.

    6. Toggle switches finally replaced the buttons on the master panel switch on the right cockpit side panel.

    7. Tens of other features including different instruments, instrument additions and switch changes.

    For SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI.

    *Thanks to Charles for permission to use some gauges from the Meteor (Fuel gage and graphics).

  21. F-1C "New" cockpit .ini

    This .ini file modifies the stock Kfir cockpit from WoI for the F-1C. It replaces the RWR and makes it a Radar scope. You MUST have WoI to extract the full cockpit from the Kfir to use this. This cockpit.ini can also be used for other aircraft that has a Radar scope in the corner.

    To add a acoustic RWR warning...... add the following lines to your avionics file (or update the RWR entry);

    [RWRTrackSound]
    Priority=HIGH
    3DSound=TRUE
    Looped=TRUE
    NumBuffers=1

    [RWRLockSound]
    Priority=HIGH
    3DSound=TRUE
    Looped=TRUE
    NumBuffers=1

    Many thanks to TK, the ThirdWire people, the makers of the great Mirage F-1 series (at Column5's site) and to the great KB section here (who showed me how to do this real simple mod) and to all involved with this great series.

  22. Su-27 Flanker Avionics v15

    Flanker Avionics v1.5

    This is a avionics update for Marcfighters Su-27 and Su-27SK (J-11)
    Fully working with Wings Over Israel ONLY ! - until the other games of the series are patched to the same code level !
    Requires the aformentioned planes already installed, which are available at http://marcfighters.combatace.com/

    Installation of the update :
    1. You might want to make a BACKUP of your whole Su-27 Flanker folders first, or of ini's which you modded yourself !
    2. Copy/Move the contents ( ini's and cockpit folder) of the Su-27 avionics v15 and/or Su-27SK avionics v15 folders into the respective plane folders
    ( Su-27 and/or Su-27SK )
    Let overwrite files if prompted to do so.

    Thats all.

    For a quick guide to what is new in Air to Air mode, refer to the included "Flanker Avionics v15 NAV and A2A info.pdf" file

    Additional IR guided (R-73 and R-27T/TE A2A missile info:
    The HUD has no IR seeker symbol, make sure that your IR missiles have "Seeker slave" checked ( weapondata ini), so that the radar can point the
    missile seeker to the desired target.
    Without radar , the IR seeker will lock on to the first target which comes into the seekers Field Of View.

    The Air to Ground mode displays are not mentioned in the PDF , but its basically a CCIP pipper, left side has a fixed scale and marker,
    with a radar altitude in KM on the top.
    The standard altitude readout ( to the right of the heading scale) shows altitude Above Ground Level, it is a radar altimeter in A2Gmode.

    NOTE:
    Several readouts and symbols are just for looks and dont have a usefull function!

    Usage in other mods:
    This mod or parts of it can be used in other Third Wire games related mods without contacting me first, just give credit!

  23. Mig-17F Cockpit

    A Cockpit mod of the Thirdwire Scooter's cockpit, to create the North Vietnam-modified Mig-17F
    cockpit for use in the standard Thirdwire Mig-17F.

    The Mig-17F was the standard version used in Vietnam and Middle East combat.

    Referenced from multiple color photos, cockpit layout diagrams.

    Instruments and placards moved, eliminated, repainted and painted from scratch.

    Individual instruments in Russian as they were historically.

    Yes, it correctly has the artificial horizon correctly Soviet-color-reversed, upside down-working (I even flew an ex-Soviet fighter that had this).

    Changes to the Mig-17F cockpit compared to the Mig-15Bis:

    1. The Russians added the rearview mirror as standard. Apparently on the previous Mig-15, it created too many technical problems to include.

    http://www.vectorsite.net/avmig15_2.html

    2. -The temperature gauge was changed according to some photos to add a big colorful half red circle and they eliminated the colorful rainbow gauge casing around it.

    3. -They added a large red canopy handle according to some photos (very colorful and distinctive!).

    4. The instrument panel rivets started having long screw driver holes in them according to some photos!

    5. A big, silver instrument casing was added to the clock below the artificial horizon...probably a reward for graduating from the Mig-15 :).

    5. Finally, the American-style six diamond gunsight reticle replaced the old British-style round circle.

    For SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI.

    Complete credits and history in readme.

    Instructions:

    1-Backup your files!

    2- Unzip the Mig-17F cockpit (North Vietnam modified) to ...\SFP1\Objects\Aircraft\Mig-17F\

    3-When prompted, overwrite the files.
