I created this as a homage to my grandfather who, as observer (with 'Jerry' Pentland as pilot), shot down an Eindecker in this plane on 9th June 1916 near Habourdin.

New Sound for German Fighters

Hello
after working a few Hours on the Configuration of the Albatros DIII, I've made now some new Sounds for the German Fighters. I don't know if you like it, some of you might now think that it sounds like a Cessna
I know the Sounds are not historically accurate, bur I simply like them.
These new Sounds replace the Halberstadt DII, the Albatros-Series, the Pfalz and the Roland CII .
New Startup Sequence and Exterior Sounds included.
Simply copy the Sound-Folder into "Aircraft / Alb_DIII_early_Sqd". Backup first, if you don't like it.

My new Sound Mod...

Hello Folks,
as promised, here's my new Sound Mod. New Engines for a lot of Planes.
I've tried to resample the Mercedes-Engine for the German Fighters, but had no luck. I've found nothing that fits perfect. But perhaps this one will come too next time...
Installation is not difficult, please read the "ReadMe".
Thanks to OBD Software for the Original Samples and for this wonderful Game!

Charles Gordon Bell of No. 10 Squadron RFC was the only pilot to make 5 victory claims while flying the Bristol Scout D. Four claims were made on this machine during October and November of 1915. this is a basic skin with an altered serial number to represent a historical ace.

FE2b 6994
this skin is an attempt to depict FE2b 6994. it was while flying this machine that Captain Stephen Price (pilot) and 2nd Lt Frederick Libby (observer) made 5 (possibly 6) claims during August and September of 1916. this rendering is based on a photograph dated September 23rd (possibly the day after their final victory in this machine. although it's questionable whether that photo depicts this specific machine, there is "wiggle room" enough that I think this skin might be feasible. Frederick Libby became the first American ace in history while serving as an observer in this machine.
this skin is based on the stock FE2b skin with extensive (albeit poor) retouching that was done with Paint and the basic Microsoft Photo Editor bundled with Windows. if somebody else wants to improve the skin and post a better version later-- be my guest. this is as good as I'll probably get with the resources I have.

As we fly our missions, constantly crossing over enemyairfields, we encounter airbourne formations, but never see a formation taking off to intercept the intruding formation.
These are 2 "generic" spawns.
As the Player Formation approaches an airfield, it will cause a flight of 5 enemy aircraft to take off, seek and engage.
One for allied, and one for axis. Included is a readme which hopefully will make putting a takeoff spawn into your missions easy, and also explains how to modify the files to spawn whatever aircraft you want.
download file, and extract into a new folder.
the spawn and xml files in the root of the folder go into your cfsww1 over flanders fields\spawns folder.
the mission files inside the Mission folder can go into either your historical or training missions folders. As long as the spawn files are installed properly, the 2 test missons should work.
Use and distribute freely. No credits required.
Should you have any problems with the files, or have any questions, please pm or post.
