    1. WOE 1950's AAA Mod v1.0

      Wings over Europe 1950's Anti-Aircraft Mod version 1.0
       
      This is modification adds heavy and light anti-aircraft guns to the GermanyCE map. Hundreds of 4 gun heavy AAA batteries have been placed
      around cities and airfields - over 3000 additional guns. Each airfield has also be given additional light AAA assets. All SAM related map
      objects have been removed or replaced with AAA. The effectiveness of the weapons has also been increased to provide a more realistically
      hostile environment.
       
      I have also faked several additional NATO airfields on the map, which are part of several 1950's era campaigns I am working on. Because I
      totally lack any map editing ability, I placed these airfields on existing flat open terrain existing on the map. These are located near
      Colmar, Eindhoven, Apeldoorn, and Leuwarden.
       
      Unzip the enclosed zip file on your desktop or a temporary file and read the WOE AA Mod Readme.txt file for installation instructions. This
      modification requires some editing of files by the user.
       
      Thanks to Pasko Patak for allowing me to use his excellent objects, and to all the folks who contributed and put together the modifications
      and effects in the WeaponsPack which is required for use of this mod.

    3. **UPDATE 1.3** 300t -- 30Mt Nuclear Weapon Effects

      Update 1.3 fixes a titanic blunder in 300kt late cloud effects -- the flat clouds spread across the map at weapon detonation, which is badly wrong. More in the update details section below. The B-47 screenshot shows 300kt late cloud effect as it should be.
       
      Updates 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 are listed at the bottom of this page.
       
       
      Included are nuclear weapon grafix effects from the initial double peak pulse to simplified late cloud development, and most major things in between, spanning a time of about 1/20 second to several hours, depending on yield. No weapons are included, but only visual grafix to be set up for use by your weapons.
       
      Surface targeted warhead effects (for bombs, ASMs) are modelled for 3kt, 30kt, 300kt, 3Mt, and 30Mt. Low airburst only -- see the weapondata "Add To" file.
       
      AAM and SAM airburst effects are modelled for 300t, 3kt, 30kt, 300kt, and 3Mt.
       
      ** The latest Bunyap Weapons Pack is required for the use of two grafix files contained in that pack -- the SMOKE3 and SMOKE4 tga files . This pack is found here at the CombatAce.
       
      As the sim does not yet support physical nuclear explosive effects, use conventional high explosives and experiment with very high warhead powers. The Weapon Editor can use exponential notation, and 1E+11 is a good start for experimenting with physical yields.
       
      PROJECT USE PRE-REQUISITES:
      (1) Know how to work the sim's conventional weapons and the Weapon Editor. This editor and some basic tutorials are found here at the CombatAce.
      (2) Know how to work the Cat Extractor to extract several encrypted text files for editing. This extractor is found here at the CombatAce.
       
       
      This project is designed and optimized for gameplay of hypothetical early Cold War era strategic strike and air defence operations on a massive scale, and will require a few simple, but very profound, adjustments to the sim to work well. One example why: Visible ranges to grafix effects can approach 1000 kilometers, and in one effect, far beyond.
       
      This project works with the stock original game fully patched. However, this project was designed with the author's personal Environmentsystem file and a CRT monitor. I have no clue what this project's effects look like on LCD monitors during day or night missions.
       
      Possible future tweaks, possible bugg fixxes, discussion of modeling methods, answers to questions, improving the effects and their ease of use for others, and discussion of what is being modelled can be found at the ThirdWire webboard at the link below.

      *UPDATE 1.1 CONTENTS*
      Fixed some faults in the KT/MT FireBall to HighCloud-1 transitions, especially for KT030.
      All Pulse and SkyGlow emitters are set to 50% larger in the effects text files (no changes were made to any tga grafix files).
      Tweaked some Visibility Distances.
      Tweaked some later HighClouds for KT/MT effects.
      Made FireBall particles turn a more deep red near the end of their lifetime. Too red? Tell at the ThirdWire thread.
      Set the FlightEngine.ini's FarClipDistance to 5000000.0. This fixes bad flickering of large yield SkyGlows seen from very long distances.
      Doubled the rate of GroundCloud emission.
      And, a few other minor tweaks I don't recall right now.
      Additional modding tips in the Install text file.

      **UPDATE 1.2 CONTENTS**
       
      Removed all files for my personal Enviro mods, as the New Sun effect did not seem to work properly when I recently patched up to the latest
      Patch (new sun caused black hole in the sky for example). Enviro mod and *new* new sun and star effects will have to be offered seperately
      for better download support. This has taught me a lesson to be fully Patched with everybody else before releacing any mods.
       
      I seemed to have found that the sim's custom Effects Details grafix option must be set to MEDIUM or HIGH. At the LOW setting, some
      important nucular effects will not show.
       
      Fixed a minor but potentially confusing Flight Engine file instruction regarding FarClip distances.

      **UPDATE 1.3 CONTENTS**
      Fixed a devastating error in the KT300 flat clouds that I failed to catch. I had it working fine, but used the KT300 flatclouds to "experiment" with the flat layers as general weather clouds spread wide across the map, and becoming visible just after weapon detonation. I "forgot" to change it back to normal before uploading at CombatAce. This was sloppy. It works correctly now...I think.

    4. Sumner Fram 2 with radar controlled guns.

      This is a modified data file, with sound effects, for WoV's SumnerFram2 destroyer. You MUST have this model for the file to work, and it comes only with Wings Over Vietnam (WoV).
       
      This model will engage both ground-based (ships and coastal threats), and airborne threats.

    7. Working Hawk SAM's in SFp1

      This is a mod to where Hawk SAM's work in Strike Fighters.
      I modified the distance the missile goes and the radar on the SAM Site itself.
      It works really good now. I have been hit three times over a 20 mile distance.

    8. WW2 Effects Pack version 0.91

      Some graphic files in this package were created by Deuces or are modified versions of those
      created by him. My apologize to him for ommiting this info in first release.
       
      This version called 0.91 has new file structure allowing you to chose the effects you want, as suggested by Saganuay82.

    10. Radar Screen Relocation

      Radar Screen Relocation
       
      This tiny edit helps my tired old eyes see the radar screen by increasing it's size, making it non-transparent and putting in the lower middle of the screen where it doesn't interfere with seeing the outside world. If you like looking at your instrument panel closely or prefer to use the radar screen in the cockpit, this is not for you (and I envy your eyesight!).
       
      Unzip and copy the HUDDATA.INI file into your Flight Folder. If you already have one there because of other modifications, you can simply copy and paste the following section:

      There are two objects for map targets ONLY. Detailed installation procedure inside. For Strike Fighters P1, I dont know if these will work with other ThirdWire games.

    12. F-16 F-15 and Mig-29 afterburner mod

    13. Enhanced Explosions

      This mini-pack uses some graphics from my guns_fx, which were in turn based on some .tga files created by Deuces.
       
      In this mini-pack you will find some reworked original effects. Since i've switched from close range WW2 and Korea dogfighting
      to more modern medium range missile engagements (WoE rules!) i started working on some enhancements to stock effects. This is not a complete effect pack
      (Deuces is best at that), rather an addition.
       
      Reworked effects include:
       
      Aircraft explosions -with new big hot fireballs and lots of burning parts thrown randomly into air, now ground crashes look more realistic
       
      Aircraft fuel fire -new longer fire trail than in original, fueltanks blow, random bursts of fuel
       
      Small/medium/large missile air explosions -different from original, now with more intense fireballs, smoke clouds, sparks
       
      Small/medium/large bomb effects (beta) -differ by size and look, i'm not fully satisfied with those, but I decided to throw them in. Think of those as of beta
       
      Also included are some .tga files from my previous guns_fx pack, as some of the new materials definitions use them

    17. Bombracks for Bort's Machines

      This is something I had started on prior to the temporary shutdown of Bortdafarms
      "First Eagles WWI ADD-ONS" site(he already had a test version) and hadn't completed.
      Bortdafarm reminded me about it,and it is now finished and ready for those who may
      want to use this mod.
       
      It's a simple "editing mod" that will put external bombracks on Bortdafarms Avro504's, Martinsyde,DFWCImod,Farmans,FokkerBI and PfalzBI.The mod uses the generic "attachpoint"
      (bombrack) and bombs(25lb/11kg) that come with the game,no Weapons folder/pack is required
      for this to work. All you need is Bortdafarm's models and a little time and patience.

    19. WOE Air Defense Mod v0.1.zip

      This modification adds HAWK SAM batteries to the NATO defenses. It is intended for use in the excellent NATO Fighters Campaign or with the standard campaigns with the outstanding July 2006 Weapons Pack. If you don't have one of these this modifications installed it will not work. Works with single user-created missions and campaigns.
       
      This modification includes work by Pasko, Fubar512, and Wrench. I appreciate their work and thank them for permission to include it.

    21. SF/WoV/WoE Flag Pak 1

      This is just a small package of flags for use in placment anywhere on (just about) any map.
       
      Several of these were added to the WW2 Range mods I release a 'ways back, for both Axis & Allied.
      There are also (hopefuly) several modern, more current flags for use in the 50-and up for NATO.
       
      This pak includes (with their actual part name):
       
      WW2:
      Imperial Japan - ijflag
      Nazi Germany - 3rflag (for 3rd Reich)
      Italy (fascist) - itflag (house of savoy sheild)
       
      50s and Later:
       
      American Flag - AMFlag
      Iraq - IQFlag

      NATO sheild - NOFlag (I know, NO should be Norway, I'll that that one probably as NW)

      There are full, very detailed instructions in the readme, with a complete listing of the flags that can be transfered over to your terrain of choice's ***_types ini, and instructions on how to place (or replace) an existing object with one of the flags.

    22. Alternative FM for TW F-104G

      This file is totally obsolete. Updates to TW FM's have eliminated all the issues I have tried to address. There may be a few items in the readme that may be of interest to newb's.
       
      An attempt at making Third Wires F-104G a bit more user friendly, and hopefully A.I. friendly. The changes made to the data.ini don't reflect any actual aerodynamic numbers, but have been done to make the F-104G a bit nicer to fly. Consider it "Effect Modeling" as compared to actual "Flight Modeling". I did try to stay true to the "Goes fast, turns bad" concept, however. [it does turn a bit better than stock] No plans to give this treatment to any other aircraft, the F-104G is a bit of a "Special" case. More info in the read me.
       
      Changes for version 1.1: Made the pitch response less 'Linear' and more effective at high speed and high altitude. Improved roll response at high angles of attack. Added a couple more degrees to the stalling angle. For general game usage, this FM is essentially performing the way I wanted it to. It may get the occasional update.

    24. Quicker Take Offs for WOE

      THIS FILE IS OBSOLETE. NEWER VERSIONS THAT WORK WITH LATEST THIRDWIRE UPDATES ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS SITE.
       
      This mod will decrease your take off times by at least 50%. This is done by placing 2 aircraft on the runway and decreasing the separation between the first few aircraft on the taxiway. A couple of issues:
       
      1. Third Wire aircraft seem to work well with this mod but some third party aircraft can tend to miss the waypoints due to "bouncing" and they may end up wandering around the airport.
       
      2. Due to the reduced taxi and take off separation, large player flyable aircraft may overlap with the A.I. aircraft and explode on the runway. There are 2 optional files for the large airports that were tested with the TU-16 Badger but they may not work with the B-52 which hasn't been tested. If you have A.I. only large aircraft you shouldn't have a problem.
       
       
      This mod uses basic runway and taxiway lighting that includes some fixes done by "Sidewinder86", "Eightlein", "Piett" and last but not least, "Comrpnt", who did the tricky fix on the large airport taxiway. Thanks Gents!

    25. Afterburner Pack V.1.2

      I noticed many of the afterburner effects in my original "Afterburner Buffet" pack didn't work properly after the latest patches,, i sorted through them & made a revised pack for your flaming enjoyment...
       
      All have been tested and seem to work fine...
       
      If any problems,,let me know..i'll do my best to help...
