    3. Fortification Objects

This pack contains a wide selection of fortifications. Some of them, like the Austrian Fort, are enormous and are WW1-specific, but there is also a selection of WW2 Atlantic Wall fortifications, so modders can construct defenses for most any period. The fortifications constructed from concrete, masonry, etc have damage models but the simple trenches have no damage models. I was unable to convincingly design a damage model that replaced one pile of dirt for another.

There are six straight trench sections for each major WW1 power, with an appropriate machine gun - Lewis (British), Maxim (German, Russian), French (Hotchkiss), etc. Hopefully, modders can deploy existing figures behind the straight trench walls. For grins and giggles, there is also a zig-zag trench section that more-or-less matches the trench sections of a 1024 FE terrain tile. The straight trench sections are generic enough to also be used in most any other period, even VietNam.

None of the guns work, they are simply stage props. But if someone wants to massage files to make the guns operable, contact me and we will discuss the job.

My thanks to the map makers - Quack74, gterl, Steven1918, Wrench - for their inputs. If I've forgotten anyone, my apologies - contact me and I'll add your name.

      Enjoy.

Rev1: Fixed the missing art for Fort-12 - thanks to KJakker for spotting that. Also renamed the multiple Fort-4 LODs for correct right/left orientation.

    4. REALLY FIXED FE2 Game Files and 4 FE2 FMs 2010

Ahh, the last "Fixed" FE2 game file download didn't actually fix the loadout guns, it actually didn't work at all - so here's a fix that does.

Just noticed that FE2 creates a directory for GUNS and without that included the new guns (that don't jam) don't work! That directory is now included.

      March 16th

      ************************************************************************************************************************************

An update, mainly to fix gun jams on gunpod/loadout guns in FE2. Jams didn't happen much to me before, but do now for some planes. I *think* Thirdwire may have implemented this in a more complex manner than I first assumed, perhaps jams for loadout guns depend on rated mach limits for individual planes.

Please install both gundata files and the entire "Weapons" folder in your "Objects" folder, as per the zip directory structure. This will give the loadout/gunpod guns 99% reliability - they will jam, but very rarely.

Sorry about that, and as a bonus here are fours FMs solely for FE2. You will have a problem if you install in FE1!

Se5a with gunsight. If you do not like, just delete the SE5A_LOADOUT file in the Se5a folder. It will revert back to the normal file that comes with the game with no added gunsight. I couldn't remove the second gunsight that comes with the model, it appears to be part of another graphic.

MSLOL - Morane Two Seater with wing mounted Lewis - this one now comes with a gunsight too.

Fokker DR1. Special FM for FE2, this one feels better in FE2.

Nieuport16LateV. Similar to previous but this includes several more loadouts that were not possible in FE1 (last upload was for both games), including Dual Lewis on wings.

Thanks to P10ppy for supplying the gunsights, as well as describing how to implement them.

    5. Armchair Aces over Galicia

Welcome WWI buffs! This new series is a compilation covering 15 months of air war in Galicia Front in WWI.

The entire war is divided in mini-campaigns of a month-10 missions. I'm using the brand new Galicia 2 terrain by Stephen1918. You'll have about 15 mini-campaigns and 150 missions per pilot!

The beauty of this approach is that you can follow your fav unit throught the war, or you can simulate unit transfers for your pilot. You can start as a two seater pilot (as most Germans did), and then be "transferred" to a fighter unit.
This mod is intended for FE2, but I think it works fine in FE with a little text edit (change all SPAD7_150 references for SPAD7 ones).

    6. Heck Mitchell's WW1 Poor Bloody Infantry Mod

I've gotten permission from Kesselbrut to post a version of his WW2 infantry for use in First Eagles. Here's the laundry list of odd things:
      1. They're WW2 lods, so one man in each squad has a bazooka that fires as a rifle.
      2. All squads, French, British, German, and American, have lods that show a tripod mounted Browning type 30 cal machine gun, although each different nationality is armed with a machine gun from the gun data ini: French, Hotchkiss; Germans, Maxims; British, Vickers; and Americans, Colt-Brownings.
      3. I had to increase the rifleman's rate of fire to 30 rpm just to get the little peckerwoods to fire at all.
      4. I changed the French uniform color to as close to Horizon Blue as my color blind eyes would let me, but now the Frenchman are a little pasty, and seem to have a mild sunburn. I am not a graphic artist.
      5. Although I've changed the data ini weapons and detection systems to say AIR_AND_GROUND, the little jerks still just fire at each other, and I don't know why, although it might be that because of the range at which they start they are already engaged with opposing forces. This mod will give you infantry squads blazing away at each other in single missions (Army Co-operation), especially if you change the data inis of your tanks to RARE, and VERY_RARE, availabilities. And, like me, you might enjoy running the little buggers down with your prop and landing gear.

Just put the folders into your ground object folder and the GUNDATA.INI into your object folder and it will work. Hopefully someone will make some real WW1 infantry.

    7. Airco DH4 - 2 pack

Although best known in its role as a bomber, the Airco DH4 was intended to be a general purpose airplane and was used for recon and ground support as well. Early versions were powered by a 250hp Eagle engine. Later versions were powered with a 375hp Eagle engine, which made them very effective bombers. The biggest problem with the DH4 was the gas tank placed between the pilot and gunner, which made communication between the two almost impossible.

I have uploaded two versions of the DH4 - Ojcar has created two FMs for the plane, one with the early 250hp engine, and one with the later 375hp engine.

Both planes have two skins, a brown and an olive color. Both use the letter decals that come with First Eagles (which you can set in the loadout screen) and a set of serial numbers which will be applied randomly. There are also loadouts for light, medium, and heavy bomb loads. The skins, decals, and loadouts are interchangeable for the two planes.

The skins are rather generic, I have included my skinning templates for those who wish to make better skins.

      Credits
My thanks to Ojcar for once again making two excellent data files for the DH4.
My thanks also to Sinbad for providing a great deal of resource information for this plane.

      Installation Instructions
The two versions can be installed separately or both together.

For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folders named "AircoDH4_250" and "AircoDH4_375" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder.

For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folders named "AircoDH4_250" and "AircoDH4_375" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folders named "AircoDH4_250" and "AircoDH4_375". Move the folders named "D" from the Airplanes/AircoDH4 folders into the corresponding Decals/AircoDH4 folder you just made.

    8. Thicker, Fuller Clouds for FE

      Thicker, Fuller Clouds for FE
      07/30/07 by ShrikeHawk

I felt that the default in FE looked too much like faded white blobs
and not nearly enough like clouds. So I set about to change it.

My intention here was to make more robust-looking clouds with a higher
density and a greater "presence". I also wanted to create the more
complex shapes that clouds can form. The kind that makes you lay in
the grass and imagine what animal shape the cloud is.

I increased the random factor for the clouds as well, so scattered
clouds can be almost as dense as the default broken clouds and then
again the clouds could be very sparse. So you never quite know what
you're going to get. I like that better.

I wanted to fix Inclement Clouds too. Realistic or not, I felt that it
was too featureless and too muddy gray. I thought the cloudlayerbottom
didn't match the stormy gray of the horizon clouds. So I created a new
CLOUDLAYERBOTTOM5.bmp that I think fits the look of a stormy sky better.

I have increased the particle count in the clouds a lot. This is a big
reason for the thicker clouds. In defense of TK, I think he had the
default clouds the way he did because it would keep the framerates high
for most machines. This is a guess. I have not seen a framerate hit on
my machine (2.80Ghz CPU, @750Mb RAM, GeForce 6800GT 256Mb VRAM), but it
is possible that some machines may get an FPS degrade with this mod.

      Have fun!

    9. Seasonal Town & Water Tiles (Spring, Summer, Fall)

Read Me for First Eagles Spring, Summer, and Fall modded town and water tiles by Bandy.

These tiles only go with Jan Tuma's seasonal terrain tiles mod.
      As the title says, these are only for Spring, Summer, and Fall;
winter is a work in progress.

Many thanks go to Jan Tuma for creating his FE seasonal town tiles that,
to me at least, have made a huge difference in the feel of the sim.
Thanks to TK and friends, and all 3rd party modders who make this a great community.

The town tiles are 1024 x 1024 in order to improve certain textures.
All other non-town tiles in this mod are 512 x 512. Resize as you require.

The water tiles replace the "turquoise" shaded water with a darker blue-gray.
If you like turquoise, then let me know and I will render a version with that colour.
I noticed a long time ago that one of the Flanders Town.tod files was mislabelled; a
      replacement is provided.

      To Install:
      1) Back up your terrain folder.
      2) Unzip this download and drag the corresponding folders into the
/Terrain/seasonal_tiles folder, and the /Terrain/Flanders folder
      overwriting the files when prompted.
      3) Fly!

      Caveats:
I could not extensively test these tiles in all seasons and all terrains, I simply do
not have that much free time, so please post any errors or tweaks you think are required.

Some trees and buildings do funky things at the tile margins; short story, this is unavoidable.
I would like to have shifted the "statues" or monuments in some of the town squares,
but did not. If you can do this, that would be sincerely appreciated.

Dog fighting over towns is really enjoyable!

    10. LFG Roland D.II

The Roland D.II was a German fighter introduced in early 1917. It featured an unusual fuselage, with the upper wings attached to a pylon in front of the pilot. Although the plane had a strong structure and performed reasonably well, the poor forward view limited its effectiveness as a fighter. On the Western Front, it was soon replaced by other planes, but continued in service on the Eastern and Macedonian Fronts until the end of the war.

I have included two skins, a green and lilac camo, and a green and brown camo. I have also included a full set of number decals. My skinning templates are included in the download.

      Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Roland D.II.
Thanks also to Nix, who made the sound file for the Mercedes 160hp engine.
Thanks also to Crowford who offered many suggestions and beta-tested version 3.

      Installation Instructions
Note - The engine sound file has been used in several other planes. If you already have a file with the same name in your Sounds folder, then you don't need to install mine.

For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RolandD2" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. If you don't already have it, you will also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RolandD2" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "RolandD2". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/RolandD2 folder into the Decals/RolandD2 folder you just made. If you don't already have it, you will also need to move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

    11. Updated Trench Textures

I found the default trenches looking rather flat, so I enhanced the textures and added a little variation in colour. The result looks more defined, although the bitmaps still have the same size.

    12. AI flyable rigid Airships

      AI FLYABLE RIGID AIRSHIPS:
Well, a quick and dirty work to make AI flyable two of the excellent Stephen1918 airships.
-The real L32 Zeppelin was shot down in 1916 over Horns Reef by the cruisers Galetea and Phaeton while trying to raid England. Before this it made 77 recon missions over North Sea.
The model we have is intended to have a generic German rigid Airship to use in campaign mode (you should create units with one plane and only one pilot).
-The real R23 class was never used in combat, but two of the improved R23X were built in 1918, and in fact one of them, the R29 attacked the UB-115 U-boat (it also was attacked by some ships. The submarine was sunk, and this was the only recoorded success of a British rigid airship.
Both airships are hard to destroy with machine guns, but the AI fighters will try to pass through the Airship sometimes (a game engine limit). Bad idea! The fighter will be destroyed (and the pilot probably will had the VC or Legion d'honneur) and the Airship badly damaged.
To install them you should put the AirshipR23 and ZeppelinL32 folders into your Aircraft folder.
      Enjoy it!

    14. SPAD A.2

The much maligned SPAD A.2 was not nearly as dangerous as some people believe. It was actually a good idea in the days before the synchronized gun was perfected, and continued to be used on the Eastern Front throughout the war. The A.2 was SPAD's first fighter and was introduced in mid 1915.

My version is the Russian version which was built at the Dux factory in Moscow. The upper wing has a center panel above the fuselage, and the gunner is equipped with a Colt-Browning 30 caliber machine gun.

I have included four skinning options, identical except for the decals. There are skins for 3 Russian variations, and a skin for the French. I have included my templates and serial numbers for some of the skins, which will be applied randomly.

      Historical Notes:
      The serial numbers are fictitious.

      Credits:
My thanks once again to Ojcar for making the excellent data.INI file for this plane.
My thanks to Nix for providing the engine sound for the LeRhone engine
Thanks also to Sinbad and Whiteknight06604 who provided resources for the SPAD A.2 and for the Colt-Browning machine gun.

Version 2 - Ojcar has created a new FM which improves the fighting performance of the AI. A fake machine gun has been added which causes the pilot of AI planes to be more active in pursuing enemy aircraft. Installation instructions for the new gun are in a separate file.

      Installation instructions:
For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "SPADA2" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. You also need to move the sound file "rhone110bn4nC" into your FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "SPADA2" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "SPADA2". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SPADA2 folder into the Decals/SPADA2 folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "rhone110bn4nC" into your FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

To install the gun, follow the instructions in the file named "InstructionsForInstallingGuns".

    15. Aviatik-Berg D.I 185hp

The Aviatik-Berg D.I had many variations, with different engines, different radiator configurations, different fuselage shapes, and different gun placements. This is a very early version, with a 185hp Daimler engine and a non-synchronized Schwarzlose machine gun mounted above the wing.

The machine gun is detachable and can be mounted or unmounted in the Loadout screen.

I have included one of Quack74's basic skins and decal sets with a set of serial numbers which will be applied randomly to each plane.

This plane has an extra piece that was not included in Quack's skins, I have included skins for the new part to match each of Quack's skins, which you will need to add to each skin folder.

      Historical Notes
This version of the Aviatik did not have a cutout in the upper wing and the fuselage was higher in front of the fuselage. My model is converted from a later version and has not been corrected because I wanted to make sure that all of Quack's skins would still work with this plane.

      Credits
My great thanks to Ojcar for making the FM and the Schwarzlose weapon data, and for teaching me how to make weapon stations.
Thanks to Quack 74 for making the skin and decal set for all the Aviatiks, and for allowing me use one as the default skin for this plane.
And thanks to Nix for making the engine sound file.

      Installation Instructions
If you are using FE1, you will need to use the Weapons Editor available from the Thirdwire Downloads area. You will also need to use a CAT file extractor utility (SFP1E Extract Utility available in the CombatACE Downloads area.)

For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AviatikD1_185" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. This file uses the same sound file as the original AviatikD1. If you did not install that plane then you will also need to move the sound file "Austro-daimler200.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

To install the gun - If you haven't already done so, extract the WeaponData.INI and the WeaponData.DAT files from the FirstEagles ObjectData.CAT file. Make a new folder named "Weapons" in the FirstEagles/Objects folder. Put the two extracted files into the new folder.

In my download, open the file named "Single_Schwarzlose_Angled_Data.INI," copy everything and paste it at the end of the "WeaponData.INI" you just extracted. Then change the number (WeaponData001) to the next consecutive number. Save the file.

In my downlaod, copy the files named "Schwarzlose.BMP" and "SchwarzloseAngle.LOD" and put them into the FirstEagles/Objects/Weapons folder.

Open the Weapons Editor, Open the WeaponsData.INI, make sure the new weapon (Single_Schwarzlose_Angled) is there, click "Save" and Close the editor.

For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "AviatikD1_185" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "AviatikD1_185". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/AviatikD1_185 folder into the Decals/AviatikD1_185 folder you just made. This file uses the same sound file as the original AviatikD1. If you did not install that plane then you will also need to move the sound file "Austro-daimler200.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.

To install the gun - From my download, copy the folder named "Single Schwarzlose Angled" into your Objects/Weapons folder.

    17. "Battle of Caporetto" Ver 1.0 Part 1

This is ONLY Part 1 of the "Battle of Caporetto" Campaign, Version 1.0, made by quack74

Part2 is a necessary download for it carries ALL the ENEMY (Austrian) aircraft files

This Campaign takes place in Northern Italy in the Fall of 1917. Austria vs Italy.

All info is in the readme files

The Vogesen terrain ( by Gepard ) is needed to run this campaign.
I highly recommend Jan Tuma's visual upgrade pack as well.

I would like to thank ***** and the skunworks A team for many of the WWI models
I would like to thank sinbad for allowing me to repost some of his Hanriot HD-1 Italian skins
I also would like to thank Gepard for the terrain and the help he gave me
And thanks to JanTuma for the beautiful terrain upgrade.

Thanks especially to all those guys that took the time to build all the aircraft and ground objects.
Without them this campaign wouldnt have come to mind. Actually Laton's Austrian and Italian planes triggered it.
They needed a place to fly. So thanks Laton.

      Enjoy, quack74

    19. Flyable RE8 for First Eagles Gold & First Eagles 2

Stock AI RE8 made player-flyable, for FEG & FE2. See readme for installation etc. Loadout screen locks up in FE2; will upload fix if/when found.

OFF has a Harry Tate already, RoF is about to get one. Couldn't find an RE8 for FE so made this myself.

    21. dogfight 1.0.zip

Dogfight for Thirdwire Simulators (Series 1)

Dogfight is a quick mission generator much like Microsofts Quick Combat and
      Ubisofts Quick Mission Builder.
This simple little program is an attempt to add similar facility to Thirdwire products
without editing Mission files by hand, or struggling with a complex Mission Editor.
So, using it you should be up and flying against a selected opponent within a few
seconds (once you're use to the system anyway!).

As a template for the Missions I used a standard 1v1 fighter encounter so the action
begins very close together (2 km seperation for WWI types, slightly further for faster types).

      To use you:
      1)Start Dogfight.
      2)Setup mission.
      3)Press the Red GENERATE button.
      4)LEAVE Dogfight running.
      5)Start the Thirdwire Simulator.
6)Go to the Single Mission page and then Load Mission Menu.
7)Click on the name of the mission that you just created in dogfight(default is "0 Dogfight").

8)When you want to change the mission click on Alt and Tab simultaneously.
9)Select Dogfight, make your changes and then press the red GENERATE button.
10)Return to the Thirdwire Simulator by clicking it on the task bar (or alt tabbing if you prefer).
11)ALWAYS RESELECT THE MISSION from the Single Mission-Load Misiion Menu to update the information.
      12)Play the mission!

Repeat 8-12 as many times as you want

This sounds a bit long winded but you do soon get used to it.

      Testing
DogFight has been tested with FE1 extensively (with virtually all the add on aircraft from
CombatAce, the Skunkworks and Peter01 fms), SFP1 (chiefly SCW) and WOE1 (chiefly WOR and WOA).
I've also tried it with some early Korean War era jets (SFP1).
I have only briefly tried it with more modern types (WOE) and though it works I'm not too sure
how useful regular fliers of these types will find it (it's the one period that I never really fly).
I have no access to any Thirdwire Series 2 sims so I really don't know if it will work with them.

The program was written using Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2010 C++ and FLTK.
FLTK (Fast Light Toolkit) is a great free package for constructing GUIs really quickly and easily.
Without it I doubt that I would have had time to write this program.

      Thanks

Thanks to TK for creating a marvellous set of Sims. I love the way they work with TrackIR.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many add on creators at Combatace and
the Skunkworks who have given me many hours of great gaming.

I hope Dogfight helps to provide some entertainment for Thirdwire Simulator Users.

      Hansa-Phonix KD1 "Star-Strutter" Ver.1 05 April 2009

Model, Skin & FM by by Andre (Laton) Simpson

This aircraft represents the late version Star-Strutters made under licence by Phonix. They had better pilot seating, a larger rudder/tail assembly and more powerful engine than the original Hansa-Brandenberg variant (which will my next release.)

Please check the read-me for installation instructions.

Also included in the release pack are the skin templates for anyone who wishes to create their own paint-schemes

    23. Gotha G.IV Cockpit and Bombsight

Gotha Revised Cockpit and Bomb sight

This cockpit is derived from a mod by Ravenclaw_007 10 May 2008 and from the FokkerDVII Cockpit by Third Wire. This mod is NOT intended to depict an authentic GIV cockpit, but to improve functionality (primarily adding back the compass) and the appearance. The bombsight is derived from one originally developed by Dfang in 2008 for the Staaken.

The Gotha bomb sight in this mod mimics a Goerz “telescope type” sight, one of several sights used by the Gothas.

There are no records I can find which depict the actual sight picture, so the cross hairs and reference marks are speculative. We do know the real sight was illuminated for night use; the mod attempts to depict that function. None of the sights used by the Gothas were especially effective (one was actually called a "non-precision" sight). Sights were only one reason bombing was less than accurate. The Gotha approach altitudes in England were usually at or above 3000 meters to avoid defending aircraft, balloon cables, and AAA. The real Gotha bombardier was the aircraft commander, operating in the forward observer station.

Installation- First back up everything. Then to install for and FE1 and FE2:

      In The Objects/Aircraft/GothaGIV folder

      GothaGIV_Cockpit.INI

      GOTHA_sight.tga

      GOTHA V24 HiRes_gunsight Full center 5 nums.tga

      GOTHA V24 HiRes_gunsight Open center 5 nums.tga

      DVII_DASH_AMMO.bmp

      D_VII_FLOOR_FRONT_BACK_WALL.bmp

      D_VII_LABLES.tga

In the FE or FE2/FLIGHT folder

      VIEWLIST.INI

      MISSIONCONTROL.INI

The Beta testers and I all used variations of the June 2009 FM by Peter01, who did some of the original FM work on this project back in 2008. The calibration of the sight relies on it, so it is strongly suggested. There are two versions of the sight. One has a open cross hair and the other has a full cross hair. The default (with the open cross hair) will install unless you substitute the other. To install the alternate, save GOTHA_sight.tga as GOTHA_sightBAK.tag, then copy the GOTHA V24 HiRes_gunsight Full center 5 nums.tga, and rename that copy GOTHA_sight.tga. That way you’ll still have a full set of the sights if you want to reverse the process. Keep all versions in the Objects/Aircraft/GothaGIV folder.

Operation- When the aircraft loads, the sight will appear at eye level. Hit the \ key [immediately below the BACKSPACE KEY] twice. The sight will drop to the floor. When approaching the target, engage the wing leveler or autopilot and hit the .DEL key, to go to invisible cockpit. Use the mouse and the NUM PAD + key to position the sight. In FE1, you can then use the \ key to select the bombs from the various choices in the loadout, if you have selected multiple weps in the load out screen. In FE2 the game will not display these choices, but the ordinance will be selected. Drop the weps in the usual manner with the ENTER key.

The default altitude for missions is set at 3000 meters, or approximately 10,000 feet, the most common approach altitude for attacks on London and the coastal areas. The sight is calibrated to operate at 110 kph for 3000 - 4000 meters, and 90 kph at 1000 meters. The calibration speeds are very important to accuracy. Targets should be attacked with a "stick" of several bombs some toggled a bit ahead, and some a bit behind the apparent aim point.

If you prefer a different approach altitude, you will find alternatives in the folder. Simply copy the one you want, delete the old file and then save the copy as missioncontrol.ini. Do not simply delete the MISSIONCONTROL.INI without using one of the enclosed files as other operational settings are also adjusted for the Gotha GIV in that file.

Known issues- the Gothas carried a very diverse load of stores. In configurations with heavy bombs loaded under the nose, the bomb sight may be temporarily blocked by the bomb on the forward port side. One way to deal with this is to manually toggle only that bomb at initial approach; another is to select a loadout that does not place a bomb in the forward port rack. The typical load for the attacks on England was 6 50kg bombs, so it is relatively easy to set up an authentic loadout which avoids the "bomb block" bug.

Thanks to Southside Bucky and OlPaint01 for exhaustive Beta testing. This was a challenging mod to develop and the comments and advice they provided was extremely helpful. Thanks also to the original developers whose work is incorporated here -- Dfang, Ravenclaw_007, Peter01 , and of course Capun and the team at the Skunk Works for the Gotha.

    24. Anatra C.I

This version includes a new FM made by ojcar.
When the Ukrainian city of Odessa was occupied by Austria-Hungary early in 1918, the Anatra factory was found intact and production of the Anatra DS was continued as the "Anatra C.I". Many of the first Austrian versions had the Austrian cross painted over the Russian insignia.
The Anatra C.I was used mostly for training, but some were used for reconnaissance, as a fighter and light bomber. Many of them survived the war and were used in the fighting in Eastern Europe after the end of World War I.
In version 2 - I have created a separate version for the Austrian plane, with a Schwarzlose machine gun and German bombs in the loadout. There are two Austrian skins, one with crosses painted over the Russian roundels, and one with standard insignia. (I have also included a postwar Yugoslav skin, because I like the insignia.) I have included my skinning templates for those who want make their own skins.
In version 3 - Ojcar has made a new FM for the plane. I have refined the wings and added some details. I created a new cockpit with German gauges and machine gun. I made two Austrian skins for the plane and I kept the Yugoslav skin, because I like the insignia. I have included my skinning templates for those who want make their own skins.
      Historical Notes:
The serial numbers are fictitious. I found several sources which said that Anatras carried a machine gun mounted on the fuselage for the pilot. I couldn't find any details of the mounting, so I guessed where it might be located.
      Credits:
My thanks to Ojcar once again for making a new data.ini file for this plane.
      Installation instructions:
This revision replaces previous versions. If you have an older version, please delete it, then install the new version.
For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AnatraC1" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AnatraC1" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "AnatraC1". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/AnatraC1 folder into the Decals/AnatraC1 folder you just made.
