What the title says, I cannot get into ThirdWire's website. I can't download my purchases from the store anymore if I wanted to. This isn't looking good, I wish TK could explain what's going on.

Not ideal when I was thinking about a new PC in the next few months, hopefully its just a glitch and back up in 24 hours.

Still down. I mean I saved the EXE so I'm good to go for the Complete Edition so far.

Me too, but this doesn't mean it's acceptable. It's a disservice to other users and for those wishing to buy it.

First of all, I hope TK is doing fine. Second, I hope the site comes back online and that we can get an explanation. We've had the feeling the games were abandoned by TK for years, time for ThirdWire to clarify their intentions about it.

Yeah, I mean he seemed to really like Mobile and that's been his push over the years, there's definitely new content. As for the site? Well who knows at this point, so it's just a matter of wait and see.

Last time I was able to use the site was April 27th of this year. That’s not even a week ago from today. I can’t imagine TK would abruptly shut everything down without us knowing beforehand right?

Yes. Very curious what's going on here. I do realize TW is a unique company but the fear of something like this happening is why I really don't like "internet required" stuff. Can you imagine what would happen if this was Steam or DCS?

I know you can argue that Steam and DCS are bigger, more robust companies that could never fail but you could have said that about Pan Am, Circuit City,  among others.........................................................................

On the other hand I do hope TK is OK and this is just a temporary technical glitch. (I'm also very glad I got around to purchasing SF2 Complete and have several backups of the install file.......)

It's going to be interesting when Wags retires and such, but that's for the future. Anyway the Discord is still of course operational, so that's nothing to worry about. If TW is going to Steam, they could at least upload SF2 Complete so I can delete the backup file. It's not really taking up much space, but if it can be done with Steam, then a digital backup is a lot better, less worry about external hard drive failure. But it's still down as of this post though.

Yeah fair enough. I'm a bit old school but I like the fact that Valve holds the files. I mean they could go under too, so yeah, I'll take that chance I suppose.

i have over 188 gb of saved SF2 stuff including all my saved Thirdwire download .exe's. so barring a hard drive failure on the 6TB drive i'm golden for now. I just don't understand TK's mentality at all in regards to Ghosting everyone and his SF2 creation.

do you not have your stuff backed up across multiple devices/drives

i'll admit, i've been lucky. so i can have all my stuff (including TW) on my laptop, desktop, and three different externals. really important stuff like military/VA paperwork is also in emails to myself and google drive.

if i cant recover it, i (and likely the world) got much bigger problems at hand...

SF2 hasnt been his favorite child for over a decade

and theres often enough blow back to the changes he made over the years at the time that they happened) that i can understand why he doesnt share

every update between the release of North Atlantic and his final patch in july 13 was met with probably more complaints than compliments

"the missiles are too strong" "the missiles are too weak" "the latest patch broke my mods" "why did you make this DLC, the one at CA is better" etc etc etc.

we (the modding community at large) have had SF2's back for the last 15 years

Yeah I should look into that, maybe backing up my Personal Business folder, which has all the stuff I do need to backup I guess.

Yeah I have three right now, one with all my stuff I work with and two for iTunes stuff. I'm planning on getting some new ones later this year to replace them and such.

I need to find my latest SF2 Thirdwire executable file. 😆 I’m sure I have it somewhere, but you guys are making me feel a bit anxious. 🤣

Yeah I mean right now it's necessary. I'd like to ask Erik if he can have people upload and find a way to charge people on this site for the download, so this site can be a repository for them, though. I mean, right now, it might be a viable idea and such.
