Hi all quick question, what is your opinion on hit boxes and collision boxes are they important for the game? TKs seem to be a bit hit and miss no pun intended.

The other question, is this going to overboard? 😆 Should I step away from the ini file?

Any opinions welcome

Cheers

even with the lodviewer, hit boxes can be time consuming.

my hats off to those that work on them.  if you want to put teh time and effort in to make them that much, knock yourself out!

Yes, I've found TKs are well, to put it mildly, way the hell off on a lot (btw, I fixed the Skyraider some years ago).

AFAIK, using the Zeke example, that is about right. I know it's related to component damage, so having the regions set of said damage is important. Having done more than my share of those adjustments, yes they are important

edit: as that's an A6M2, if you add armor, use 2 mm aluminium for the fuel tanks, NO self sealing, and MAYBE 2mm aluminiium to represent the wing skin

More accurate ones certainly improve realism and accuracy in gameplay. Yes, some stock aircraft don't have precise ones.

For the ODS 30AE mod I personally fixed and improved collision points and hit boxes for over 100 aircraft, both stock and third-party. It is no walk in the park and it isn't funny, so I won't suggest others to do the same for such an amount of aircraft.

Thanks to mue's LODViewer we can edit them much easily and very precisely, but it takes times.
