Unfortunately, there's no practical in-game use for this. I just did it to take some screenshots for campaign and hanger screens, but one can always wish.

Looks awesome! Now if only there were a way to change the E-2C to a VAW-124 bird you would be entirely CVW-8. I have noted the un-natural emptyness of the carrier decks in this game. It just looks weird.

I did it by adding 7 extra catapults to the carrier.

 

I was going to see if there was a way to keep a catapult from launching an aircraft, but then you would be limited to four aircraft in your flight, and then if you used ALT+N, they would leave the ship and join up anyways, and not be there when you come back to the ship.

 

So basically, just a "photo op".
