So, could everyone come up with some suggestions for names and we'll do a poll to see which one wins. Grumman F-29A "????????" Sound like a good idea? Being a Grumman, had it become a USN fighter, it would undoubtedly had (in keeping with Grumman tradition), been named after a cat. In USAF service, it would have been named after a raptor of some sort ( for example, Eagle, Falcon, Night Hawk, etc.). How about "Peregrine". The X-29 may have made a nice naval aircraft, the forward swept wings gave it a very low stall speed which is ideal for carrier landings. bobcat maybe?
