WombRaider Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Okay, so I was flying today, and I noticed something when I loaded paratroopers in with my AC-130. When I opened the bombay doors, this happened... I thought it was pretty damn funny, and I have seen it once before, a long time ago. What causes it? Warren

+Corktip_14 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Is that a Herc' under your battle dress, or are you just happy to see me?
Lexx_Luthor Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Whenever I see screenshots of Old Testament~esque SF pilot giants, I remind the 3DMAX temple that the future of air warfare environment modelling will use 3D objects for towering cumulus clouds.... (1) Different LOD levels for different viewing ranges or view zoom. (2) Clouds can be skinned and the 3D cloud reflect the sim's sunlight just like aircraft. (3) No collision modelling needed. However, some collision points may be hidden inside to represent a small chance of simulating turbulent conditions. (4) Whatever the future may bring. Right now, The Sims clouds have never advanced beyond the early 1990s, and in fact have regressed to "fuzzy" rotating shapes. The Sims of Old, the Sims of Reknown, used very low polygon 3D clouds which was appropriate for the time, but they were solid 3D objects. Today such clouds could be made with astronomically greater number of polygons.
WombRaider Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 LMFAO! So no one knows why the paratroopers are not to "scale" anymore? It happens to every plane, so I know it is the weapon itself..... Thanks Warren
WarlordATF Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Not sure why it happens, i have seen gunpods that are too small under phantoms also. Next time it happens i'll grab a screenshot.
