Wow, impressive shot there, Widowmaker! Those Jasta 18 boys can get nasty.

They once smoked my SPAD XIII pilot in co-op between D VIIs and Dr.1s.

Here is my second sortie with Jasta 80 b in Alsace. We didn't meet any enemies,

but the flying in that dramatic scenery and weather was great.

Sometimes if you can't shoot them down, you can always go to...

Good Morning All,

Thought I would post a few screenshots from Flieger Paul Blum's DiD campaign, (flying the Walfisch with FFA 48 in the Alsace, spring of 1916), which I started a few weeks ago.

Paul Blum and his gunner/obs Kurt Weimerann, preparing to take to the skies with their flight:

In the mountain valleys up near Luneville:

I've discovered that taking the fight low into this terrain gives an edge when battleing several N11's at once.

One of may favorite viewe as of late:

If you would like to read Paul's letters home to his Mother as well as the first "report" for this campaign, they begin in the following link to the "Reports From The Front" thread:

Flieger Paul Blum Letters and Reports

Just keep moving ahead in the thread to find the other letters and report. Hope you enjoy them.

Cheers!

Lou

That's nice to see some pics of the environment Paul is flying in.

Keep them coming!

I resently discover the Alsace with a pilot in the late formed Jasta 80 b (Bayern);

for him, it's May 22nd 1918; they operate from Gross-Tanchen.

(see "Screenshots")

Accurate fire is when you hit the enemy. Friendly fire is when you hit someone on your side.

So what do you call it when the same shot takes out both?!? I call it proof positive that...

Oh, wow - that's how "sunrise" looks! (I'm rather one for evening missions - in the morning I'm of no use).

Great picture, Mike!

With the new drivers I am able to push the Terrain quality higher and show a little bit better how beautiful Over Flanders Fields: Between Heaven & Hell terrain and scenery is. Of course youtube degrades the quality a bit but I think you can still see a clear difference.

Thanks Chaps - glad you like the Picture. :salute:

Here are a few DiD Campaign images from Day 1 of the 3rd Battle of Ypres.

The Battle rages in the southern sector - British Infantry moves up to assault the second German line, supported by Tanks - meanwhile on their right - the Germans capture a disabled British Tank and launch a counter-attack to reclaim their trenches - supported by their own mechanical monster:

A group of German Soldiers guard their captured British Tank:

ypres2.jpg

The Tank is soon "liberated":

ypres3.jpg

Seemingly the Germans are so angered that they decide to try to shoot down the Sopwith Triplane with a Railway Gun:

ypres4.jpg

The British Infantry continue to advance towards German Machinegun Nests:

The advance continues as the Machinegun Nests fall silent:

Perhaps the War will be over by Christmas...

Just a real quick one again here. Have you ever seen a recovery from a "red out" stall at below tree top level? I hope I never seen one again.

HPW, I hope to get time to work on your DM Mod video Sunday. It's been busy lately. Sorry.

Mike, I had never observed, that there is so much ground activity. You shot a fine sequence there!

Showing again, how detailed and immersive OFF is!

WOW! Outstanding shots there Mike. Someone should let those slip over to the other WWI flight sims and their entusiasts so that they might see what they're missing. Well done.

Jasta 79b, Buhl-Lorraine, 22. March, 1918 - it's a great difference between the north sea and the Alsace.

You need to keep an eye on the mountains, when you fight. Today I felt like flying there.
