WOW. Being Italian and having worked in Corsica, the map is awesome.

Venice is perfect, Cagliari (sardinian women areq uite beautiful) and the shepherd in corsica. Awesome.

Which airports are you planning to include?

Anyway thank you , this is awesome

Hello Canadair

To answer your question about airports, I have put one for most of the main towns

Italy: Napoli, Roma, Bologna, Milano, Torino, Genoa

Sardignia: Cagliari

Corsica: Ajaccio, Bastia

There are other towns without airfields like Bonifacio, Oristano, Venezia, Rimini.

I hope you will enjoy the map ! Italy , Sardignia and Corsica are beautiful countries. Flying at treetops and

visiting the towns in the Map (Pause + Ctrl F12) gives me the desire to visit them !

I hope you will enjoy the map once released.

Best regards

nice, nice... but try making the trees less saturated, no these really stand out from the background, make the graphics less vivid. I'm refering to Corsica shots, to be precise

anyway I like it! :good:

Hello Stary,

I considered you as the Master for trees ! I will give a try at the end to make them a bit less vivid

but for now my main goal is to have contrasting landscapes thru the Map, thus for North Africa and Italy I am using your trees (thanks for them) and other ones for the other countries, I am quite happy till now with the differences. About the qty of trees, the screenshots have been taken with Terrain Detail set to unlimited. I like to have forests looking like real forests even with a bit FPS hit. I hope you will enjoy the map once finished.

Best regards

Surely I will Ansons2!

Not nitpicking, just an advice from my side

but blend them with background, blend...

like here:

notice how the trees are matching the overall saturation and ground pallete of the set in the example, looks quite good I'd say

Color and diversity is Life, thus I wanted to have actual buildings pictures and colorful landscapes (not too much Stary!)

In the Map both Ajaccio and Bastia have an airfield near the town.

Map is still WIP, I spent the last 2 months to built a new tileset for the France country using satellite pictures (Thanks to Google Map). This is still in progress as I add tiles each time it is needed. Each area of france has its own tiles, that means a lot of transition tiles !

French Areas with specific tiles :

Provence (South-East)

Roussillon (South)

Bourgogne (Middle-East)

Aquitaine (South-West)

Landes (South-West atlantic coast with many trees !)

Vendée (Middle-West)

Bretagne (Middle-West)

Normandie (North-West)

Nord (North)

Ardennes (North-East)

Lorraine (East)

Alsace (East)

Centre (Center)

Région Parisienne (Area around Paris)

Rivers :

Rhône (done)

Loire (in progress)

Garonne (done)

Seine (to be done)

Meuse (to be done)

Rhin (to be done)

Tamise (UK) (to be done)

Even Great-Britain and the Sarre Area (Germany/France frontier) have their own tiles.

Here below a few screenshots of several areas

Except the Aquitaine Area, the trees are not yet put in place. Give them time to grow up !

Hello everyone,

The Map is still WIP. I have added a lot of new tiles to include realistic harbors and towns.

Examples of added towns/harbors: Nantes, Saint-Nazaire, Orleans, Lorient, Brest, Cherbourg, Toulon, Marseille,

Saint-Malo, Caen, Ouistreham, Le Havre, Caen, Rouen. I am currently working the Seine river towards Paris.

The total number of tiles will likely exceed 800. the Map takes now a bit time to load but I can still fly it with my old rig.

Still a lot of work to do, but I want to have it completed.

Here a few screenshots of the newly added tiles/towns. Trees and Buildings will be added later !

Beautiful tiles Ansons :good:

But can you have more than 256 tiles?

Hello Pureblue,

To answer your question : yes, I have currently ~740 tiles in the Map (I have merged SFP1 Desert, WOE Germany Tile sets + many custom made tiles for France , UK) and the number of tiles will continue to grow as I have still to add towns , harbors and roads ... I have sized the tiles to 256K to keep the memory usage as low as possible and to have

them usable in the Terrain Editor.

super boulot, c'est impressionnant de ressemblance !

Bonsoir fougamagister,

C'est normal que cela soit ressemblant vu que j'utilise des images satellites de Googlemap pour bâtir les tiles.

La France est un très beau pays et je veux que dans SFP1/WOx elle ne soit pas défigurée !

:salute: March News,

The Map is still WIP, I had to buy a new PC (the motherboard of the old one has died), SFP1 runs very well under Windows 7. Here below some screenshots of the latest tiles done.

The Seine valley has been completed from the Seine mouth (Le Havre)up to the source (Seine Lakes), Rouen, Paris, Fontainebleau, Montereau tiles have been done. The Somme bay and river is done with Amiens. I am currently working on Dunkerque and Calais before moving to UK. The Nb of tiles will exceed 1000 !

On my old PC, the Map took a bit time to load up, but with the new one (8Go RAM, 1Mo Video Card) it is OK.

There is still a lot of work to get the Map completed but I expect to make it !
