Something Evil This Way Comes...

Recommended Posts

Thank peter very usefull info, I didn't know that it had 320 chaff

however, I don't know how many chafs are released at the same time.

and according to Saab: "Each BOL dispenser holds 160 countermeasures" if thats thrue my 180 was wrong, but the total of 320 is still rightcool.gif

LINK for more info from Saab

The dispenser is on the rear of the sidewinder rail,

the black holes behind the meteor missile are for the flares, 16 on each side, 32 total

Towed decoys aren't supported by TW, are they?

 dont worry I have got this right now, I know it's been bugging you from the original

Almost certainly not, TK makes it no secret that this is a 'sim lite' and 'fancy shmancy' stuff like that is not in his budget.

But towed decoys can be built and implemented...it's just not easy.

I am intrigued.....care to give an insight how it is done....that would be awesome to have.

Sure,

Check out the Super Hornet to get an idea of what it looks like in action.

If you're still interested, let me know and I'll send you the MAX file.

I see what has been done there, but it is purely a visual effect? or do missiles home in on the decoy? sadly I have used up all my animation slots (it's getting to the point where we might need to ask TK for an increase in available slots)

I want to say a delayed response more than anything else from opposing radar systems and missiles. Even though in all honesty it seemed to work better in SF1 than SF2 but then again I've been getting shot at by Stingers for a good while so I may need to test it out again. But it will not prevent a launch either....

Well, it definitely won't work for IR missiles.

The question is if it would work on radar missiles.

What's needed is a definitive test...same aircraft, speed, altitude, etc being engaged by a radar missile and see where the missile hits when the decoy is deployed.

Yeah just download and install :good: The only huge thing that needs to be done is to add "EOGB" to the AllowedWeaponClass for the pylon.

Here are some screens of some progress made a while back, got into using 'bump' to make things look high poly.
