Gr.Viper 131 Posted May 9, 2010 I just happen to live in the flight path of the planes after they pass the Red Square during the 9th of May V-Day celebration in Moscow. Unfortunatley da choppas take a different route and divert to the South earlier but all the fixed-wing types pass close enough to take pictures. So I did just that. Can't be seen from this angle but those two groups are formed as digits 6 (MiGs) and 5 (Sus). They were passing the RS maintaining the same speed as attack chopper formation below them. Technically I could've taken shots of chopper formations but not in low-level Moscow haze Ok, the rest At this point by some miracle got the manual focus sorted out so the blur after that must've been due to shaky hands and the lens weight. The engine sound of those is awesome! And the thing that made it all possible. Not the WC4, the big all-metal thing next to it.

Silverbolt 104 Posted May 9, 2010 that's the best military parade in the world! awesome pics!
Gr.Viper 131 Posted May 9, 2010 I don't envy the pilots of this parade. Today we have strong gusts of wind, haze over the city (well, that's usual), and their flight path was mostly "head straight into the sun". But they did it
+Gepard 11,316 Posted May 9, 2010 Saw it live on TV. Was a good show. Pastravlyayu was dnjom pobjedu! Good to see the Brits, Polish, French, American and some GUS troops too. I'd also liked to listen to Beethovens 9th "Freude schöner Götterfunken". What i disliked were to see the Iskander and Topol-M nuke carriers.
JediMaster 451 Posted May 10, 2010 I always think it odd to see MiG-29's with underwing fuel tanks. Did they really hook up smoke generators to Su-25s and 39s (looks like a mixed formation)?
Capitaine Vengeur 263 Posted May 10, 2010 Impressive, numerous, various, colorful, ... Russian!
TX3RN0BILL 3 Posted May 11, 2010 Nice pix! The only thing that's missing is the biggest bird - An-225... May not be AF bird but would still have looked good in the parade!
JediMaster 451 Posted May 11, 2010 Hey, they've got the biggest bomber in the world, isn't that enough?
