The question is why did he suppress the beta test process?

"security" problems? or something else?

Surely not for the financial reason, lotsa folks would agree to do it for "free", right? Perhaps he didn't want any information leaks to the public, f.e. about features that would be cut-out after the beta-testing stage?

That's what I think. As when I worked for Ubisoft/Eagle Dynamics I was (and think I still am) under an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) that essentially was legally enforceable once you signed it. When I did work for DCS: Black Shark I was under one. But I think the deal is either he has no legal way of enforcing it or just simply hasn't thought of it, or events led him to forgo the process.

Now, this is turing into a wishlist we could show to TK without him doing the "it's a money thing" routine.

I've used this for CAS missions in Afghanistan map, open up your aircraft _data.ini and paste this after the [FlightControl] section.

1. It would be an excellent idea to add to the mission editor the ability to please the ground and air models to the actual map rendered form the game so you can see where you are placing your objects in the real world.

2. The ability to have a preference page to give the user a full information about Missiles Bombs ets.

is it the ability to chose it as a individual setting for each plane (ex f-4, a-7, and so on) or is it a general setting like the one you find in the

AIRCRAFTAIDATA.INI?

General setting, you can apply it to any aircraft.

And SidDogg... "Conversion" is an understatement. Looks nice but needs to be honestly redone and if I had teh skillz I would...

Groundradar that is actually usable. Or allows you to lock onto targets.

To be able to create/place specific Radar items in a terrain.

(SAM, ships and other vehicle that have radar) To have them act properly, radiate energy, be picked up by RWR and AI flights; that possibly react to these.

This and the other AI sections can be added to the data ini of individual aircraft, since sometime in 2009 or so :)
