true, considering Oli's model is the full wing, not clipped, and lacks the pointed fin/rudder, and many animations

got it in game, using the 3w data ini -- oddly, some animaitons are the same (gear extends! and canopy opens) and the mapping is the same as the Mk.VIII

but you can see, it needs a LOT of work!!

O-M-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stary, you´re the man!!! Please, make the regular and buble canopy versions. The gyro gunsight were used on the late IX onwards. For the earlier marks the regular gunsight should be modelled. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!

("Yes Sir!" shouts Stary as he runs to the modding cave of his... one can hear as he slowly builds the pressure... "just a sec... wait... oh yes! here it comes!" he moans in modeling pains as suddenly, followed by gross sound of release of modder's exhaust gases new shiny Spitfire cockpit pops out... oh look! 7 variants of them in fact)

on a more serious (and definitely less.. colorful) note these don't magically pop out to existence so please be patient Russo :ok:

those are looking OUTSTANDING Raven! We've needed those axis radars for a LONG time!!

I have the Schiffer book on WW2 German radar systems on PDF, if that's any help!!

First Look

(as discussted on this thread http://combatace.com/topic/80101-long-term-project/ )

Inverness, looking south west ish. it's taken 18 hours of work for THIS section. The height field adjustments for the Lochs is gonna be unbelievable!!! (meaning: the whole thing will prolly wind up similar to the panama canal - a sea level water way. Apologies to our Scots friends!)

one the tiles are all straightened out (meaning: all one type, with fill-ins added later), I can start worring about air bases and cities.

(note to self: find out where the old WW2 RAF bases in Scotland were/are. to say nothing of those in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, and the island groups north of Scotland) ......

the map will ONLY go as far south as Kingston-upon-Tyne. no need for anything further south, as that's covered on 2 other maps
