Sorted the problem with my jagged graphics at least & its looking beautiful.

AntiAliasing is controlled buy(sic) your graphics card only now & not the application settings in the game.

No mater what entry you put in to your [GraphicsOptions] it has no effect.

It has to be set to your own taste in you graphics card control menu.

“Application controlled” or “Use application settings” must be unchecked!

very good man!

this solved mine problem with Windows XP and may 11 patch.I wish good luck to all those who have not yet succeeded to put the anti-aliasing to work.

That was the solution, problem solved. I've downloaded ATI made drivers for Apple bootcamp (Instead of what I was using: Apple's default bootcamp drivers). This way I have Catalyst Control Center installed, by which I'm able now to force AA.

Thanks all, Valter.

Options.ini

[singleMission]

...

FlyAll=TRUE

...

Unlocks every single plane for selection in Create Mission menu.

Old news though. Seems, it appeared with Exp2.

I had missed that one as well. No more bloody .ini tampering. It looks decent, but works for me.

Here is how the Spitfire looks with that command, and no added Cockpit.

Yeehaaa!!

Now it works! AA is working on my setup too. I am so happy ;-)

ianh755 you made my day, thank you for posting the picture. This helped me getting on the right track.

It was late last night and i must have done something wrong with my nvidia tool. Shame on me!

Now i can confirm that AA is working with the nvidia tool!

Thank you all for helping out and communicating. This is a great place!

Happy Flying!

you can specify default cockpit model via flightengine.ini(used if none is specified for given A/C in it's ini file)

Hi there, its me again.

Im still getting no squadron decals & numbering for some aircraft!

- Downloaded the May 2011 patch for the third time just to make sure it hadn’t got corrupted some how during the download.

- Reinstalled my entire SF2 collection “Merged” & experimented with SF2 Israel as stand alone.

- Experimented with the “DecalNumberRandomize=TRUE” entry, setting it to FALSE

- Extracted ObjectData019 to check that they are all there & they are. (seems this entire file is not being read)

- Tried putting the extracted decals in to my mods folder to see if the game will read them that way but I still get a blank tail.

Dose anybody have any other suggestions?

This is starting to really get me down! :- (

Please, please could somebody check if there decals are showing up on the SF2 I F-16 Netz? :please:

Am I the only 1 with this problem?

Thanks

SF

SF2_update_May2011 (not the one for Expansion Pack 2)

Tested with SF2 I Merged & stand alone.

Windows XP

DirectX 9c

Just checked, no problems w/ decals on the Netz

Win7 full merged SF2EXP2 may11

None of your aircraft have decals?

Try downloading the latest Game Packages (for example May2011_setups of SF2I etc..

Thanks for taking the time to check out my decal problem PureBlue. :)

I only have a problem with some of the squadron insignia & numbering not showing.

The rest, national markings & so on seem to be displaying ok.

Seems the bulk of the aircraft I am having trouble with are the Israel aircraft or the decals packed away in ObjectData019.cat

But I have noticed some missing on USN USMC Phantoms too.

Patched up to Jun2010 as I have been since its release I’ve never had any problems & the stock decals have always shown correctly.

Its only since the May2011 patch some have disappeared.

Seems most people have Expiation pack 2 installed.

Could be “the non Exp pack “ patch that’s broken?

If possible could somebody Not using Expansion Pack 2 run a test & check if the squadron marking show up on the F-16 Netz or any others for that mater?

Thanks so much for your time everyone.

Maybe a dumb question. But does the readme not say this patch is for Exp 2 users only?? I can imagine people getting in trouble applying this patch to a install without the exp pack

Hi Steelflanker,

I have just checked my decals and they seem to be ok. I have numbers, national markings and the red round patches on the Netz tailfin.

The same on the kurnass, they have the coloured rudders.

I also did a flight at night and the decals are not glowing as i have seen it on the pictures.

But I have a complete merged installation WITH Exp2.

Are all F-16 Netz Squadrons not working or only some? If so which squadrons are not working?

I am sorry i couldn't help you more.

So... trees rendering fade distance is somewhere in the TerAlphaObject.fx and TerSolidObject.fx shaders, on 3rd party terrains that don't have these shaders in their directories trees don't fade but pop up as they used to. BUT apart from this, they pop up at also short distance, regardless of Flightengine ini DetailMeashSize setting. I'll try something about it tomorrow.

Is it me or generally terrain textures have nicer mipmapping and overally somehow look nicer, be it stock or mods?

Thanks 4 testing Thudgriffon. I'm having a problem with all the squadrons.

This is my Readme:

"This update is for any install of Strike Fighters 2 without

the Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 installed. If you

have Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 installed, please use

update for Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 instead."

Guys there are 2 patches!

- Strike Fighters 2 Exp Pack 2 May 2011 Update (391 MB)

- Strike Fighters 2 series May 2011 Update (440 MB) <------------ This is my patch as I don't have Exp2.

It seems the Exp pack 2 patch is working fine.

What I need is somebody to test the other patch. Strike Fighters 2 series May 2011 Update (440 MB) with SF2 Israel at lest.:please:

Thanks again for you time guys.

Why does every single piece of jettisoned ordnance, including tanks, goes "Boom!" when it touches the ground?

it does? I allways wanted it to go off in a way

Odd. I don't see the missing decals issue. Is your install all-releases-merged?

Wish granted
