major bug with Isafjordur Airport (forgive me lack of specific fonts) -every wingman crasches into basalt after take off -I know it might be not that big issue as I think in campaign no one starts from there, but just happened to me in single mission:

Try lighter load. It seems a lot of Icelandic airports were designed primarily with seaplanes in mind.

I'm talking about the AI egress patch, allways seem to fly straight into, only working on gaining altitude not turning side

Issue fixed, installed Iowa class :yikes::grin:

...And just HOW, sir, do you get this to show up INSIDE the stock campaign?

I INSTALLED Iowa Class, and it pulled an Article 87 on me :angry2:

Sid is not BSing. If you play campaign eventually you will be launching within visual and SAM range of Soviet ships. Kinda sucks because this would have never happened at all.

Battle of Leyte Gulf comes to mind.

I would suspect the reason is TK wants the Task Forces to engage each other, but they don´t.

TK doesn't want them to engage each other. The pew-pew cannons do little damage and the accuracy is quite terrible.

LOL......do you intend to court-martial the entire ship's company, from the CO on down?

I saved a mission, then I edited it, replacing one of the escorts with the BB.

So, the A-7E is completely unflyable from a carrier at this point?

No. It´s just A-7E campaign´s first mission. Single missions work fine. Just choose "Near Target" from mission starting position for that and then change it to 'On the ground, at home base' for the second mission. Should work fine.

Aside from the immersion-killing Hawkeye-voiceovers I really like SF2:NA.

The new parameters are contained in the dll files (aircraftobject, groundobject, missileobject, etc.), so if you're in a hurry, get out your hex editor and read them. The only drawback to that method, is that one has no way of knowing how and where they apply, and whether they're a simple binary statement (ie, TRUE or FALSE), or a numerical value.

Major bug in merged install: in SF2 europe my AG weapons do not hit ships etc anymore, they just fly trhough them without effect?

So: AGM-65B is bogus, but also LAU-10 doesn't work at all against cargo ships.

I did that once with an SH4 mission (Battle off Samar), replacing all the DDs in Taffy 3 with a squadron of fast battleships (Iowas, North Carolinas, and South Dakotas). It wasn't pretty for the IJN

Because your weapons and ships are probably not using the latest parameters, and we won;t know what they are for sure, until we get a suitable cat extractor.

Well, here's another one on topic.

I Just got the latest version of SF2DLC Mission Editor.

But I can't seem to get it to install to my separate install SF2NA. I keep getting "Strike Fighters 2 was not found" error.

It goes into SF2 perfect, though.

Anybody know of this? :dntknw:

Aside from the immersion-killing Hawkeye-voiceovers

Yeap ... that sounds quite amateurishly made ... like the homescreens which look like there has been effort put intentionally to make them as cheap and uggly as possible .... Whats with that? no radio transmission fx plugins available around for TW sound editing software ? ..... I am not saying NA is not worth. (Not 30 usd though) Ofcourse it is. Adds on one side a new potential base with major changes - improvements in various parts of the games core. But they are not yet visible or porjected / promoted as they should. Still keeping the ugly wrapping and something so easy to improve to proper standards : clouds etc : That is all WRONG marketing . It looks more like a big update / patch + throwing in a flyable tomcat and phoenix. For 30 USD i will get later this year Flaming Cliffs 3 which is HEAPS away from NA. - Think that: If you get just NA, for 30 dollars, you only get a flyable tomcat and a corsair and a dull outdated visually terrain . Thats all. Smth like buying Seven-G for 30 USD ...

Paying 30usd for Flaming Cliffs 3 (or even Flaming Cliffs 2) you get galactically more product. You may need to spend maybe 10 usd more to acquire a copy of original Lockon if you don't have one already, then again you need another 30 usd to buy another SF2 title -so to get some decent number of flyables more- and if its Europe you get a joke of a terrain ....

TK has correctly moved to a more effective profit wise strategy some time ago, but i think he is overdoing it maybe now .... i am having serious thoughts the past few days about buying from TW again ......

I go away for two days and SF2:NA gets released. Grabbing it right now; seems like some bugs still need to be ironed out from what I've read here, but I'm looking forward to multi-target intercepts!

US carrier group air defenses are crap. Brave Royal Jordanian AF Hunters mostly got through, had free gun strafing runs on the carrier (went as far as "Three is out of ammo"). Sadly, Jordanian training didn't cover bombing, as most guys kept the irons under wings flying around in confusion.

This is not a radar screen, it's a tactical display showing contacts gathered by all the flights and the Hawkeye. At least it says so in the manual :)

plus own radar contacts i think

As much as I understood it's pretty much the same terrain and same aircrafts as FC2 and FC1, you only get online compatibility with DCS players.

If you ask me that's free patch material.

LOL I've just read they will charge 20$ for a Nevada terrain, now that's silly...

The screen is the pilot's Horizontal Situation Display in TID repeat mode (it shows what the RIO is looking at on his Tactical Information Display).

FC2 is better terrain and graphics than FC1 , apart from other changes - improvements. FC3 is DCS graphics - terrain , (better than FC2) amongst other numerous game improvements again, and allows you to join a multiplayer theatre of awesome graphics with KA-50, or A-10C, or as ground forces controller or as one of the FC3 flyables - including the reds (which TW has not too)

The terrains of ED standards i believe are worth paying as separates. Now if Nevada is worth 20 usd, will have to see more videos and screens and what actually comes with when its out, to judge.

Squid,

If anything, you are consistant in your apparent lack of comprehension. TK has continually stated what his goals were with this title (and series), and I've seen you respond to him....so, now you're disappointed that NA turned out to be pretty much what he said it would be? (Even though he threw in a few pleasent surprises)

You remind me of someone who would buy a Morgan Plus 8, and then criticise it for costing as much (or more) than a Porsche 911, while not coming close to the 911's performance or comfort. That's not the point of it....the Morgan has a soul, the Porsche is a bloody Cylon by comparison.

So, please go off and play your souless, sterile games...

That's all....I've said my piece
