Okay the Top one is not the Sub Hunter thats the AEW-3 Variant... in Ferry configuration as when they worked from the ship as AEW they only carried the drop tank on the left side if I remember correctly...

Yep - AEW variant.

The only kind that matters.......

British, probably mid-40's... prototype or only low-volume production I guess, the wings are not right for it to be a Blenheim modification, something to replace the Blenheim and Beaufighter perhaps ? I've never seen that one before.

OK, time is over: Miles M33 Monitor high speed target tug... (powered bij 2 definitely non British Wright engines....)

I'd say you are allowed if you disclose it in your answer and you let other people have a go at it before, however I've been devious and you won't find that one, as-is, through Google Images.

Ok, a small hint... It's a yugoslav bird (the tail can help you figure it), it's from the early/mid 50's and its manufacturer is now better known for manufacturing buses.

Recognized this as a yugo bird by the tail pic which how I found it when I posted my question. Actually a simple gogle of Yugoslavian jet prototypes and wiki search paid off

Does this count ? Easy or far too vague ? If so let me know and can try to post something else. Dont have access to my books or mags for the cool stuff as reference since I'm in Dubai instead of home, Toronto.

I'm not so sure, I remember the original Su-9 as looking a lot like the Me-262, here the engines nacelles are closer to those on the Meteor, with a forward cockpit.

Whatever it is it certainly counts.

Damn, it's so evident three of us missed it entirely...

It's obviously an I-215, but I have no bloody idea who manufactured it without having to resort to cheating sources.

It's not Sukhoi, it's not a MiG, neither Tupolev nor Ilyushin...

That leaves us with what ?

A Lavochkin or Yakovlev I've never seen before (if it's one of those I'd say Lavochkin, it has that kind of grace) or one of the short-lived OKBs (most probably, but I can't remember any of these from the late 40's/early 50's).

OKB of Semyon Alekseev. Sadly even the two seater night fighter of this was never even flight tested as many claim that Yakovlev 's comment during a Kremlin meeting "just another copy of the ME-262" might have influenced Stalin when he decided to shutdown the OKB without even allowing flight testing of the I-212 as a result also the I-215.

Well done, I've always like it and the ekranoplanes, they're weird beasts but not entirely unattractive in their own ways.

Your turn then...
