Hey guys,

Getting back in touch with TK games and this great community since a few weeks.

I am now wondering wether SF2 : NA is a must have since I saw some youtube guy videos that looked quite interesting.

More precisely: what's new? Is it well implemented? Is there must have third party add ons à la Nato Fighters for this game?

Thanks!

I have but I don't like it. It incorporates interesting naval warfare characteristics and a very good water shader and apperience but I'm my opinion that's all , furthermore It requires more memory than other TK games and I've been unable to make it work with unlimited settings...... and I have a very powerfull computer...

And yes there is a very nice expantion you can find here:

RAM hungry, then?

I've got quite a good computer, but you are making me wondering!

I've seen this extension, indeed. Looks interesting! (Même si la Royale n'est présente qu'en 1975).

How is the game with older ones and other third party add-ons?

I do have a merged install because I bought a TK's package with all SF2 games included back in 2008 or 2009. I am affraid your memories issues might... contaminate other games.

The game is just the same as the others, except, as I told you,  the most relevant new issues are the naval-warfare and the new water appereance.....which is espectacular but that's all

Regarding the add-ons like the other games...

Its the best of the series because of the incorporated extended Naval action. Yes you must get it.

Yes you must get it.

Or Dave will inform the Eels of your refusal to do so.  You wouldn't want that to happen, would you?

(Weeeell, thanks for your input guys.
As I'm a navies (whoever they are) lover and very much like naval action, I guess it's a buy! And by the way, it has been ages since I bought a TK game and they have been entertaining me for a decade now. Time to do my part again!)

There's also been a slew of DLC released post-NA that you could look at. Your interest in them may vary, but give them a look.

After a week of SF2:NA... I am very glad I bought it.

And although I usually prefer lighter planes, I guess I am falling in love with the Tomcat. Even if it's a poor dogfighter (well... I might suck severly too).

I'd say check the SF2 DACT thread, page 18 and onward.  Should give you some ideas.

Its well worth money for extras you get...

I can run it unlimited on a wait for it...Q6660,6gb ram and an xfx5770 1920x1080x32 and no problems whatever

on my i5 2670k 6gb ram 7950 at same res not a murmur on any sf game at unlimited...wierd how some high spec pcs have trouble...I even ran it on a p4 with no trouble...when I had only that pc set up in new house a while back.

EMP...I recommend you try the replacement terrain for NA  maybe that will help your system probs? maybe worth trying

The terrain that comes with SF2NA is bloated, poorly optimized, whatever you want to call it.  But there's a third-party terrain for it on CA that runs like butter even on my system (Pentium G860 dual core and GTX 650 vid). Muuch better.
