Although the Mirage Factory never made a F-4J of the USN and the USMC ,however , they did both the UK F-4J and the late F-4S which is a modernized version of the F-4J.

So,  I modify the Mirage Factory F-4S , I've converted some Raven_claw HD skins for series 1 and  add new ones , two of them made by amariani  , and another one made by me.

And this is the result....

(The first skin is the one I've made)

The aim of this topic is to get to know what does the comunity thinks about this work , if it makes sense to go ahead with it, if it does not, is someone would like to create some skins or decals etc..

nice. however if your aim is post 1974, you need the DECM antenea on the intakes. found more commonly in photos on the S, that probably is because most J photos that get attn are Vietnam era shots. but the J continued to fly with the Navy until around 82(VF74 and -103 phinal users) and Marines for two years past that (IIRC VMFA-115, did a Forrestal dep in 83 while another squadron was converting to Toms)

might also want to talk to Sundowner, i know he has one and i was working a skin pack (Similar to my F-4N pack) for it but thats not even on a burner right this second

My aim are both 66 and 74 versions, the screens are for the 66 version. However as you mention the squadrons etc, I'd like to know if you (or any other) could provide me with information about the squadrons and dates of F-4J users.

I have your F-4N mod. I have the squadron list up to date. Thanks DaddyAirplanes.

However, I have a doubt. From 1978 on according to your information the overall plane was painted with gull grey or they changed the the USNgrey by the gull grey. Because most of the pics are from Vietnam era and early 70's

my big folder of pics is at home, will send it to you tonight. as i have been able to tell, the white came out around 78-79.  the Marines were generally the last to update schemes, but Navy worked to reduce visual signature. around 1980, a low viz grey scheme came out and then the TPS in 81-82, though only two squadrons flew the J in that.

yes most pics are from the nam era.  wait till you get this folder. broken down by unit, most labeled by year. gathered over the course of a years worth of google image hunting
