have you gotten to see them overhead yet? i remember seeing the original Hornets during a couple of my multi day layovers in Kuwait....

Not the Super Hornet, but I did see the F/A-18 Hornet C/D many times over Kuwait.

VF-143, my F-4 squadron for Rolling Thunder.
