Any mod wanna take a stab at? Interested in ZSU-23-4M4 and ZSU-23-4M5 (1999): modernized variants,

ZSU-23-4M4 and ZSU-23-4M5 (1999): modernized variants, armed with two additional paired man-portable air-defense systems "Igla" on each side of the turret and equipped with 81mm smoke grenade launchers, laser emission sensors, electro-optical vision devices (including television system for driver) and improved weapon radar system. The mechanical transmission was replaced with hydrostatic transmission, hydraulic boosters were installed. Mobility increased to the level of main battle tanks. This upgrade was first shown during the exhibition MAKS-99 in Zhukovsky and was carried out by the Minotor Service Enterprise and Peleng Joint Stock Company from the Republic of Belarus, and the Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant of Russia. The Ulyanovsk Mechancial Plant is also offering ZSU-23-4 upgrade packages independently.[18]

India[edit]

  • ZSU-23-4 upgrade: This version was developed by Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) of India in cooperation with Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). These Anti Aircraft Tanks(AAT) were first used in the Indo-Pak War of 1971. These proved to be effective against Pakistani Mig-III's. The upgraded systems will feature an advanced AESA radar[24] and computers, electro-optical fire control systems, a new Caterpillar 359 BHP diesel engine and a new APU. The upgraded systems are able to operate despite enemy jamming, are able to pick up targets from more than 15 km away, and functions in temperatures between 55° Celsius and minus 40° Celsius. The gun is able to shoot down targets flying at 450 miles per hour up to 1,500 meters and out to 2,500 meters. The purpose of the upgrade is to extend the life of the air defence system by 15 years. In December 2004 it was reported that the Indian Army awarded a US$104 million contract to upgrade 48 ZSU-23-4 air defence systems of the Indian Army.[25][26]

That is something I would like to make in the future if there isn't anyone already working on it.

Hi Guys:

Thanks a lot GKABS, your 3D models are great, I am a big fan of your work.

but we already have the ZSU-23 model, maybe you can put your efforts on new models.

Will be great to have the RAMTAs TCM-22,  Crotales , Tigercats, Mistral Trepieds or AN/TPS-43 radars.

Thanks KJakker for ZSU-23 data, following your example I tried to improve the M167 and M163 VADS data, trying to ahave a range only AN/VPS-2 radar.

Here are my edits:

M163:

[DetectSystem]
TargetType=AIR
DataLink=TRUE
OpticalSight=TRUE
NightSight=TRUE
VisualRange=10000.0
VisualSearchTime=6.0
ViewportPosition=0.0,0.0,2.30
MaxVisibleDistance=6000.0
RadarCrossSection=5

[WeaponSystem]
TargetType=AIR
TrackingRange=7000.0
RadarFamilyName=M163
GunRange=1200.0
PitchAngleRate=60
MaxPitch=80.0
MinPitch=-5.0
DefaultPitchAngle=0
YawLimited=FALSE
YawAngleRate=75
DefaultYawAngle=0
ReloadGunAtAngle=FALSE
GunRecoil=20
GunStabilization=TRUE
GunRadarTracking=TRUE
RangeFinder=7
BallisticComputer=6
YawModelNodeName=Turret
PitchModelNodeName=Gun_Base

M167 (Actually the same):

[DetectSystem]
TargetType=AIR
DataLink=TRUE
OpticalSight=TRUE
NightSight=TRUE
VisualRange=10000.0
VisualSearchTime=6.0
ViewportPosition=0.0, 2.0 ,3.28
MaxVisibleDistance=4800.0
RadarCrossSection=4

[WeaponSystem]
TargetType=AIR
TrackingRange=7000.0
RadarFamilyName=M163
GunRange=1200.0
PitchAngleRate=60
MaxPitch=78.0
MinPitch=-5.0
DefaultPitchAngle=30
YawAngleRate=75
DefaultYawAngle=0
YawLimited=FALSE
MinYaw=
MaxYaw=
DefaultYawAngle=0.0
ReloadGunAtAngle=FALSE
GunRecoil=20
GunStabilization=FALSE
GunRadarTracking=TRUE
RangeFinder=7
BallisticComputer=6
YawModelNodeName=Turret
PitchModelNodeName=Gun

Once again thanks a lot.

All the best.

Gonzalo

There is always a need for a new better-looking one. This gives the player a chance to chose suitable model for his own game.

I prefer quality than quantity.

Here is my work in progress adjustment of the M163 & M167 VADS data files for testing. The UserList files are WIP due to lack of data on who received units when.

Thanks Kjakker!

I tested the M163/167, although less efective than the ZSU-23-4 seems to be pretty realistic,

also the M940 ammunition seems to work better.

Also the Bofors L70 should be corrected, the max effective range was 4000 meters and usually was supported by a fire control radar, like the Super Fledermaus.

IAFM_04_156.jpg

The Israelis use 200 pieces coupled with 40 Super Fledermaus fire control radars from the mid 60s to the late 70s, along the Hawks were the main Anti-Aicraft assets of that era.

Thanks again.

Gonzalo
