My basic idea was, after the hatefilled elections in the USA, that a Second American Civil War brakes out, between the BLUE and the RED Party states. For the Blue i would use the US Navy and US Marines Corps and for the RED the US Air Force.

The basic layout of the Lakes is done.

Next will be to create forrest tiles and place them on the map. Then i will place city tiles on the map. Afterwards i will create transistion tiles and i hope, that the TE will do the job to place the transition tiles on the map.

Lets see.

If a second Civil War isn't popular, the terrain would also be good for Cold War Gone Hot scenarios:

- A Red Dawn-style Soviet invasion, with Cuban and other Central/South American support, pushing up from the south and east

- A Red Dawn remake with North Korean (!) or Chinese invasion forces pushing from the west

- A 'what-if' NATO splintered after the election of left wing governments in member countries, including Canada, and the Soviets are carrying out joint exercises in Canada and push south

- Intercept missions against Soviet nuclear-armed bombers flying from off-map bases in Russia and coming down through Canada to attack the US

Also, some anti-terrorist/drug runner/bootlegger missions along the border will be interesting to play on this map in various time periods

I agree with allenbj42 as while the US is divided, it's not yet ready for another Civil War, and it wouldn't be about Trump. I figure with the current attitude with Putin a real US vs. Russia scenario is more fitting than political discord. I mean we're fighting each other in social media and so on, but overall we're not at the brink.

I'd go with that too, though I really didn't read all of them, though I think I read like one of them but don't remember which.

Your ideas can be easily implemented by using different Nations.ini. I can include such ini's in a Goodies folder, as i have already done it for Faeroer terrain. No problem at all.

I hope so.

Tiles have a size of 1024x1024 pixel. They are basing on sat pictures.

It's a pity, that we have no simple transport or ferry missions, to simulate civil air traffic. Simply take off from one airfield, travel to an other, make a little bit sight seeing, and landing. Sometimes it would be nice.

player flown, i use recon for that very purpose. of course the game being what it is, one has to take a brief detour into hostile territory

AI flown, there is a transport mission, and when i did alot of my airliner skins i set up an airliner nation, so i could make a formation for it with the wide spaceing you'd expect to see. my thoughts at the time were on having civil planes flying during REFORGER, but same principle over Michigan or the British Isles

Some eyecandy for Battle of Britain 1960th terrain

img00452.thumb.JPG.27f153b4aa1dcf195fabc456be40fbee.JPG

Not perfect so far, texture of Stonehenge is missing. But say it with Bob the Builder "Yeah, we fix it!"

I hope that i can release BoB1960th till X-Mas.

Anyone who knows my BoB2 terrain will have been surprised by the abbreviation PQ, which I used to mark the position of bridges. PQ is a German abbreviation and stands for "Planquadrat" (map square or grid square). I would like to use the English abbreviation for BoB1960th. So a question for the native speakers among you: "Is "grid" the correct term or do I have to use "map square"?

I would go with grid for us military geeks. I mean map square or grid doesn't matter to me really, just as long as it's uniform across the map.

depends on who your talking to.  given the military nature of the game, grid would probably be better. you'd be looked at might strange for a few moments if you said map square in the US Army. probably followed by a lecture on terminology while youre in the push up position
