+Gepard Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 The basic layout of the Lakes is done. Next will be to create forrest tiles and place them on the map. Then i will place city tiles on the map. Afterwards i will create transistion tiles and i hope, that the TE will do the job to place the transition tiles on the map. Lets see. 2 Quote

If a second Civil War isn't popular, the terrain would also be good for Cold War Gone Hot scenarios: - A Red Dawn-style Soviet invasion, with Cuban and other Central/South American support, pushing up from the south and east - A Red Dawn remake with North Korean (!) or Chinese invasion forces pushing from the west - A 'what-if' NATO splintered after the election of left wing governments in member countries, including Canada, and the Soviets are carrying out joint exercises in Canada and push south - Intercept missions against Soviet nuclear-armed bombers flying from off-map bases in Russia and coming down through Canada to attack the US Also, some anti-terrorist/drug runner/bootlegger missions along the border will be interesting to play on this map in various time periods Edited December 1, 2024 by allenjb42 spelling 4 Quote
EricJ Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I agree with allenbj42 as while the US is divided, it's not yet ready for another Civil War, and it wouldn't be about Trump. I figure with the current attitude with Putin a real US vs. Russia scenario is more fitting than political discord. I mean we're fighting each other in social media and so on, but overall we're not at the brink. 3 Quote
Wrench Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Also, like "The Wingman" series of books -- post-break up USA, with various occipiers and internal factions or zomibes 2 1 Quote
EricJ Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I'd go with that too, though I really didn't read all of them, though I think I read like one of them but don't remember which. Quote
+Gepard Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Your ideas can be easily implemented by using different Nations.ini. I can include such ini's in a Goodies folder, as i have already done it for Faeroer terrain. No problem at all. SitRep: Test for forest tiles with forest to farm transition tiles. 8 Quote

It's a pity, that we have no simple transport or ferry missions, to simulate civil air traffic. Simply take off from one airfield, travel to an other, make a little bit sight seeing, and landing. Sometimes it would be nice. Quote

+Gepard Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 Some eyecandy for Battle of Britain 1960th terrain Not perfect so far, texture of Stonehenge is missing. But say it with Bob the Builder "Yeah, we fix it!" I hope that i can release BoB1960th till X-Mas. 7 Quote
+Gepard Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 (edited) Anyone who knows my BoB2 terrain will have been surprised by the abbreviation PQ, which I used to mark the position of bridges. PQ is a German abbreviation and stands for "Planquadrat" (map square or grid square). I would like to use the English abbreviation for BoB1960th. So a question for the native speakers among you: "Is "grid" the correct term or do I have to use "map square"? Edited December 12, 2024 by Gepard Quote
EricJ Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I would go with grid for us military geeks. I mean map square or grid doesn't matter to me really, just as long as it's uniform across the map. 3 Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 depends on who your talking to. given the military nature of the game, grid would probably be better. you'd be looked at might strange for a few moments if you said map square in the US Army. probably followed by a lecture on terminology while youre in the push up position 1 2 Quote
+Gepard Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Is there possibly a difference between british and american english by using "grid" or "map square"? Sit rep screenshots. Two new powerstations 7 Quote

+Gepard Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 (edited) Stonehenge has now textures. Thx mate. You know whom i mean. Some days ago someone askes, whether Mc Donalds is a strategic target in BoB1960th terrain. Lets say, it is a target, which you can attack. Wrench Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Is Stonehenge aligned properly, so the solstice sun rises over the correct stones??? (I'll show myself out now ....) also, we have the Pink Floyd Pig Balloon, too (have to look and see which terrain I put it on. I mean, if you're adding Easter Eggs) 2 Quote
