May the universe bless you every day. :clapping:

In fact, I was hoping for such a party from you. And while I am done with Corsairs, I am slowly preparing for Intruders over Vietnam.

Thank you. Live long and prosper.

Thanks for the kind words. Seems like, theres still some interest in those skins. :drinks: You'll need patience though...as you can see, there's still enough to do. Hangarscreens and stuff like that are also still missing for many skins.

Green = Skin ready

Dark Green = same Skin for 2 variants needed (for the faulty SF2 upgrade-function in campaigns -> only plane OR skin can be upgraded)

Blue = 2 Skins for 1 deployment (gray + camo)

Orange = older skin in lower resolution has to be reworked.

White = not done yet.

Nevertheless, I just found some more skins in a backup:

My brain is simply to small to keep all the infos and details. Even with the spreadsheet things get lost sometimes. :stars: You should never get old! :grandpa:

Does anyone have a goodsized picture of the Snake on the tail of VA-86 (1965 on USS Independence)?

Drawing of VA-86s A-4E, 1967

A small update with some new skins:

VA-34 Blue Blasters, 5/1967 - 12/1967, USS Intrepid, A-4C

A-4C_65_VA34_67_v2.thumb.jpg.0149e2dd691dc3cd06b5f269e11230c8.jpg

VA-36 Roadrunners, 10/1965 - 6/1966, USS Enterprise, A-4C

Squadroncolor on this one is a guess, as I found only 1 color-picture with (the tailstripe not visible). The roadrunner may also be black instead of blue. Nothing for rivetcounters. :wink:

700 series modex are purple, iirc

Thanks for that info!

I just found some info, that around 1969 some colors were changed (for example 700 to insignia blue). But I found nothing, what the rule was before 1969.

Mate, think that in the 1968/69 cruise onboard USS Intrepid, VA-36 colors was green.

It's dark green, yes. That one is done already...see above.

      View File [Fictional] Douglas A-4D Skyhawk 'USAF'
      Douglas A-4D Skyhawk 'USAF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
      This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire A-4E to give a fictional USAF A-4D with markings for the 416th Tactical Fighter Squadron ('The Silver Knights') in 1967 although the service years are a more generous 1964 to 1985.

      BACKSTORY
      During the Spring of 1961 the incoming Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara left no stone unturned in his search for efficiencies in procurement and operational costs and his attention soon turned to the successful Douglas A4D 'Skyhawk' programme. Douglas had already transformed their 'bantam bomber' by replacing the Curtiss-Wright J65 engine with the Pratt & Whitney J52-P6A engine and the forthcoming A4D-5 (A-4E) version was chosen as the baseline for a minimum-change version for the USAF. Designated A-4D (after the introduction of the tri-service
      designation system) the USAF Skyhawks saw extensive service at home and abroad and, in particular, served with distinction in Vietnam where they replaced a variety of tactical aircraft.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your Aircraft folder.
      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the A-4D folder into your main Decals folder.
      That's it!

      CREDITS
      Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
      And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
