  1. They would have burned in the fire. Lost a disk today, random no rhyme or reason. Proverbial crap happens. Don't forget to make back-ups!
  2. We had a database corruption problem today due to some hardware malfunctions. As a result we will be reverting to our backup copy of our database which occurred last night at 3 AM Central Time. If you made posts today, uploaded files or joined our community we ask you complete the sign up process again, upload the file again, or post again. Basically anything that happened from early this morning to current has been lost. We made all attempts to recover the information with no loss, but it unfortunately is not possible. Please check that your forum avatar and signature images are intact. Thank you for understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.
  3. I just tested with the following versions of Firefox; 15.0.1, 23.0.1, 29.0.1 I had no problems with either of these versions. Check that flash is updated for your version of Firefox and your security settings allow general web browsing behavior, ie except cookies. reset to default if necessary. Let us know. Thanks.
  4. The system would have caught you up but I nudged it. Not sure why you reset might have been due to software upgrades on our end, but either way it would have fixed itself. 90 more posts and it should upgrade you to Elite. Take care.

    Jug to the bench

A well deserved retirement. Thank you for your service.
  6. During your entire career what is your favorite story to tell about the aircraft you've flown, and why?
  7. Worked as designed! Was built to fly under the radar, turned into submarine, seems legit.
  8. I thought I was coming here to delete some porn, then I was disappointed I wasn't.
  9. I was reading not long ago about the state of the public assistance programs in the UK and Australia. It's absolutely insane the amount of money spent to feed, clothe, house, and medically care for the Islamic. I feel for you, it's a no-win situation.
  10. Just over 15 years for me in the aviation related communities. Seen a lot, met a lot, and proud to have had the opportunity. Thank you all.
  11. Literally spit my coffee everywhere. God I love this place, never short on a good time. The force is strong with that one.
  12. :: walks away slowly ::
  13. The guy who created that masterpiece also created this one.
  14. Political discussions get moved anyway so I can't imagine this getting political in the pub.
  15. Maybe 20 years ago. Active jamming only changes the acquisition type from passive to active. The same smoking hole ensues.
  16. Do you even goat bro? http://store.steampowered.com/app/265930/
  17. Now that's effin funny.
  18. I just can't imagine the stupidity at work here. You know the aircraft was painted and locked the entire time it was a threat. The pilot was watching his radar detection system melt while his radio was requiring his attention. You don't go around threatening destroyer platforms and get away unharmed. I give the US Naval Officer who kept his head about him great credit and praise. Needless stupid escalation of a situation that is already messed up. The region has real problems and they had them before Russia decided to step in. As for the map and not our problem. I agree only if Germany removes itself from the NATO countries. Col. Nathan R. Jessup: "You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know, that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives! You don't want the truth, because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like "honor", "code", "loyalty". We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said "thank you", and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!"
  19. Knife, gun, airplane... Soon the politicians will get on TV and tell us how we need stricter knife sale restrictions. My thoughts and prayers to the families of those affected.
  20. I never said it was a simple solution nor did I offer anything other than an off-the-cuff fix. However, guns have been around a long time and they have certainly been easier to purchase or barter for than currently. Society has changed, rearing children has changed, influences have changed. All part of a social makeup that needs to be addressed or we will continue to be a victim of our own creation. The reality is that we won't give a damn because it's too big a problem or it doesn't impact us directly so it's not something individually we will worry about, though we should. We're a society that likes to have our cake and eat it too so we'll sit around and act shocked when someone somewhere reaches for a gun to solve a problem then blame the gun for our own short falls. How about we develop a smart gun or personal force fields. If we are looking at technology or law to make up for our oversight then certainly this has to be on the table too. There are many things we'll ignore and global warming is one of them. When it happens we'll all sit around, those that make it, and say what a cruel bitch mother nature is. Evolution: It's not just painful and interesting but some people won't survive it. Good luck out there.
  21. People were getting confused because both files needed to be downloaded and combined then extracted. The file has now been included in one download, to cure this problem.
  22. The only argument I've offered considering the "policing of individuals" is that we need to give them coping abilities and a respect for life. This doesn't happen at an adult age that needs to be policed. Parent's need to wake up and start parenting their children. We raise these monsters and then scratch our asses when they go out and kill half a dozen people for some stupid reason. You want xbox and playstation to babysit and teach this to your kids, well good luck re-spawning when it goes wrong. My position about removing the guns is if we do it will only shift to some other tool or vehicle because we haven't corrected the problem to begin with. Paddle some ass and stop worrying about CPS, society will thank you later.
  23. My point is simple. A truck full of ammonia nitrate, Timothy McVeigh; a couple of backpacks filled with modified pressure cookers, Tsarnaev brothers; a .45-caliber handgun, Ivan Lopez; a Boeing 777, unknown; and the list goes on but I'm sure you get my point. A motivated individual can use anything at his disposal to inflict harm and do damage. You can not stop manufacturing everything because it could possibly be used as a deadly weapon. I'll give you the fact that guns are more common place and accessible for the lazy and less creative. Guns get a bad rap and I don't fear the man with a gun. I fear the crazy bastard willing to create and detonate a dirty bomb in populated areas or the intentional spread of Ebola or any other lethal contagion easily transmitted among the human race. Then again none of these even compare to what mother nature can dish out.
