  1. Here is a close up of an anemometer mounted on the starboard V strut of an Albatros D.5a (Wingnut Wings).
  2. Hi guys, I found some spare time last week and worked the Albatros D.V mod. Look how the new corrected footstep looks in game: I put some more work on that updated template during the weekend and made finally, the correct early model's nose planking: The universal normal map works just fine don't you think? I finaly settled up on the camo colours and created a D.V Mod for JSGME with all the new normal map. I have added more Generics to the Mod (all the Jastas that first received the D.5, according to PWCG), incorporating the updated template. I think that in a couple of days I'll be able to release a beta...
  3. Does it say buy now, for less than 150 Euros, only? In past days I would have bought it instantly...
  4. The use of term Tachometer in English for (RPM-counter) is very strange to me too, being Greek... The word is Greek and means literally Speedometer (tachytis=speed + metron=meter).
  5. Airspeed indicators (anemometers) were fitted as a field mod...
  6. Very interesting! I have seen them before, when Blowhard was researching Stropp for his profile work... http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/camouflage-markings/53089-stropp-finer-points.html
  7. The Albatros D.III (OAW) and the D.V were produced in the same time frame. The first D.V-s were operational with Jasta 11 at mid May 17, while the D.III-s (OAW) in June. The lower wing reinforcement didn't stop with the D.V wing. The D.Va-s built by OAW, had additional lower wing reinforcements, adding more weight to the plane, so the reduction of the fuel tank capacity was decided in order to counter the weight increase, without performance compromise. Considering this, I guess that the problem with the lower wing in steep dives was never eliminated. I believe that the pilots just were aware of it and flew the plane accordingly, (thus the reduction of wing failure incidents). The problem was most prominent at the transition from D.II to D.III, when pilots flew the D.III as if it was a D.II, resulting the lower wing flutter in steep dives.
  8. The file contained in the zip is actually version 10.1...
  9. You know that "marathon" is the name of a herb in Greek actually? (Sorry for the off topic)
  10. I have it bookmarked but, thanks anyway! Another site I use to collect pictures from, of not so known German pilots, is Flieger Album: http://www.flieger-album.de/blog/index.php
  11. I provided the photos to Lothar and originally had placed the Marine pilots in a separate folder... I thought he couldn't manage to make them work on their own... It would be great if this could have been possible though...Lothar?
  12. Looks like a sunny day, from the shadows in the picture. Jim's probably right...
  13. The plane is painted in OffzStv Adolf Schreder's, Jasta 17, livery. The original plane was a D.V not a D.Va though...
  14. Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks takes his newly-acquired Albatros D.Va for its first flight since arriving in Florida.
  15. Oh, great thanks!
  16. Great pictures! Thanks Jim and Lou! I think it's an altimeter Olham and yes, it's an ammo counter...
  17. So sad! R.I.P
  18. I agree...but WOFF stand alone would have been awesome, anyway!
  19. I wish her good health and a happy life! I confirm Olham's definition of the name... Meli in Greek means honey. Melissa literally: the female related to honey.
  20. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any original colour photos from WWI except from French ones... @ shredward: There are no such skins in OFF... Actually, there is a Walter Boning skin for the D.Va that is erroneously based on a D.V scheme. I have seen many skins for the Albatros series based on outdated data in OFF... I hope these mistakes will be eliminated in WOFF...
