  1. I've bookmarked the site, long ago. Thanks for the heads up, Olham! The only drawback is that all those, most interersting photos, are in small size format... or I'm missing something?
  2. I've got the DVD, but thanks anyway.
  3. Ernst Udet's LO inscription, on the sides of his planes, from September '17, was dedicated to his, fiancee then and later wife, Eleanore Zink. But have you actually seen her before? I didn't... Greg vanWyngarden posted a picture of them both, at the 'drome today that I found most interesting. Here it is:
  4. Come on Mike... Here is MvR last claim form, ( he claims two Camels) with his signature for comparison...
  5. Also found there, a very good one of the Albatros D.V prototype, still with Johannisthal style rudder and with experimental lozenge camo painted on. The wings were also covered in lozenge fabric with reinforcement ribbons of the same material! (quite uncommon for Albatros Werke Johannisthal)...
  6. There is a freeware, alternative image manager, called FXAA (SXAA for ATI cards), that may help a lot to improve FPS, in CloD and not only... I'm using it with RoF as a JSGME Mod and I have improved not only the overall image quality, but the frame rate also! My game used to lag in low alt multi a/c dogfighting in heavy weather...not any more. I haven't tried it in CloD yet, though... http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3484798/Alternative_to_Anti_Aliasing_F.html#Post3484798 BTW, here is the last masterpiece by Ph0b0s95, the creator of "Pulse", posted above, using CloD:
  7. The De Havilland DH-89...
  8. Somebody stop me! biltongbru, (Tinus de Roux), the creator of "Wellington", has made some remarkable pictures, combining sim with real life footage. Using CloD: Using IL-2 1946: Also check his You Tube channel to watch some great documentaries he has made, (interviews with WWII pilots with sim dramatised scenes included): http://www.youtube.com/user/biltongbru?feature=watch
  9. If you mean the movie carrick posted, it's made with BoB2 Wings of Victory. Here are a couple of mor movies BoB related by Barfly: The first from 2009 using the modded old IL-2... And the other with CloD...
  10. Two more CloD movies worth watching:
  11. elephant

    Swordfish

So does the modded version of IL-2... There was another one for the Taranto raid, but I couldn't find it...
  12. I would be grateful if that fish-eye lens in externals could be addressed, at last... Please!
  13. Yes, many of the things mentioned by Lima, have already been announced for P4. Others like self-shading may be limited by the core engine itself... It would have been cool if possible, though! What always bothered me in OFF was the sense of flight comparing to RoF, even so, in the P4 preview video, the flying seemed to be more fluid and realistic...
  14. What Creaghorn described was historic and IMO too, the right way to go. ie selectable, attached on the historical spots, with historical colors. RoF team decided to attach a blue steamer to the port upper wing of every Central Forces FL plane, (sinister?) and to the starboard one of every Entente FL... Also to give a Hollywood style flapping scarf to the AI aces, then sell them to you in a variation of colors with a Colt to shoot'em up and called it "personal package" (sic)! Although the may look "cool" in game, I'm opposed to the essence of this concept!
  15. Very interesting thread indeed! About the inscriptions in slang that the enemy could never understand and rudeness vs politeness, I found the exact opposite of what the main topic is about, on a German Rumpler C.IV...
  16. And the latest, IMO arcadish call on Hollywood style scarves and the non historical way streamers were finally depicted, really pissed me off! Not to mention the "personal package"... Alhough my good relations to the developing team, due to my pilot skin work, I couldn't help it and was kind of aggresive against their "commercial trick" in the RoF Forums. The AI fix of cloud blindness and RTB when hit or low at fuel was very welcome, indeed. I tried the beta Career but dropped it at once in favor of Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator. I agree with the pace RoF goes it could approach OFF planeset, in may be...10 years...
  17. Original post at 'The Aerodrome': http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/people/54741-otto-splitgerber-letter-home.html Dated: 20-12-16 considerably, after Splitgerber's first aerial victory with Jasta 12. Could it be possible to be read by our German language speakers?
  18. With Real Player there should be a little tab on the upper right corner of the video's screen , with the indication "Download this video". With JDownoader, I'm using, you just copy the URL and all the versions of the video and audio are automatically loaded. You download then the desired video or audio...
  19. I use JDownloader to download from YouTube... You can also do it with Real Player I think.
  20. I have also seen them landing like train boxcars behind the FL at the 'drome's edge... The landing 'bug' seems to be addressed in Phase4 or OFF2, if you prefer. Watch the ending sequence of the preview video, I think it's revealed, there... Don't know anything about any RTB command, though...
  21. Oh, Olham! Squadmate landings is not the strong point of both sims! The after landing disappearance in that 'ghost' aerodromes, is most frustrating in RoF! In OFF P3, squadmates cannot even land properly... Again, you are wrong about the empty skies... In Pat Wilson's Campaign both enemy and friendly flights are generated, each one with their own mission. The player can go anywhere and still encounter enemy or friendly flights conducting their missions, as in OFF, the only difference is that the most distant ones are not spawn till the player is at a certain radius from them. Anyway, OFF for immersion, RoF for the flying experience for me... Still prefer the highly modded version of old IL-2, over the graphically superb, but problematic CloD... and can't wait for OFF Phase4 to be released... A new preview video maybe?
