Well, the game has got another patch and for me, it just got playable (as in I scored multiple kills and survive dogfights) with acceptable graphics!

Oh, come on. They are just getting back for all thoose time WE sent Sidewinders carelessly flying :D

Well, I must admit I was mostly amazed that turning my settings from low to very high actually INCREASED my preformance. I like that, esp as I had settled to prob have to play on Medium :D I can do flights, but it still suffers from bad framerates. Combat is out of the question.

There will be ranting indeed. This game is NOT READY. Not by a longshot. Ubisoft seems to have pressured the release, because right now, its almost unflyable and I got my settings on lowest. We can only hope Oleg puts together another patch soon :/

BoB died as a game topic about nine years ago. (At least for the good ones :D) I think Oleg and his team can do a good job. Also, I am also investing in the kind of support Il-2 1946 have recived. Oleg have mentioned he wants to move on to the Med and considering he already included Italian Aircraft, I´d say this might be a stepping stone. Then again, Dynamic Campaigns are not all that important for me, nor are graphics. Gameplay will be what wins my heart. Does Cliffs of Dover have that? Don´t know. One way to find out.

Battlefield is not a CoD Clone as BF1942 was released before Call of Duty, and most BF Games to date has not been scripted at all due to their lack of extensive single player. Battlefields strenght lies in its Multiplayer. CoD cannot contend with that.

Its realistic that the trigger does not fire the air to air weapons, and I using the Joystick myself have no issue with firing both at the same time. However, since Guns and Weapons are different buttons, I suspect it will be impossible to link them both to the same one.

Re-Formating will do it. And yes, the Payware option is a trap. They charge you money to get rid of the VISIBLE signs of the virus. They keep a hidden version to activate and keep pumping for money. Getting rid of it ALL is very difficult tought. Hence, Reformating is the option.

Thats wierd. Because during the mission where I played it, there was a ton of fighters and I barely escaped alive, only downing the tanker on my way back to the Carrier - whereupon I get the rest of the campaign with Strike Missions without air opposition aside from stray Falklands Based Aircraft :D One hell of a coincidendence then and a very cool one.
