Have you been spammed by neoqb to buy new planes?
JediMaster replied to PinkPanther's topic in General Discussions
If it was just one of them, I'd say it was a fluke. I'd have to say after using Russian software products for over a decade now that it may instead just be a cultural thing. They may honestly just not think of these issues in the same manner as we do, hence they'll upgrade things like graphics and flight modeling whilst in other areas there has been no change whatsoever...after all, why would they try to fix something they didn't think was broken? I also don't know what the disconnect is, let alone how to resolve it. -
They just need to fine them, big time. That's the solution for criminals and other lowlifes who have money, just take it from them and don't bother crowding the jails and costing US money.

I don't know where in Miami it could've been done, there's no space left to build anything and nothing already there is really suitable.

A lefty throttle might be too much because you'd have to move the pivot, or rotate the base 180 and move the cord to the other side. Since you said you're offering the stick alone without it, though, it would just be another handle. -
Boeing and LockMart are in the same group as Saab when it comes to having to deal with that issue. That gives the MiG a considerable boost in this competition, yet at the same time the pricing issues with the whole Gorshkov deal may well counter that. Only the Typhoon seems to have none of these political downsides, but I'm not sure it's proven multirole enough for their requirements plus it has yet to have an AESA enter production (another requirement) while most of the others have.

Oh, you could also go on the "Internet" and find every other plane that ever flew! After all, I really want *insert name of random plane that flew between 1960 and 1975 here* to be in this! -

This isn't a unique issue for them. I've noticed many Russian developers seem to be engineers only...they know how to make the software work to do what they want it to do, they just miss what the public at large wants the software to do. Not to pick on any one of them, but I don't think I've seen one Russian sim with a decent UI. At best they're serviceable, at worst they're almost impossible to use. I think what they need is a Western consultant that they LISTEN to. You know, they should program the way they're best at, but they need to look at things that aren't going over so well and ask for some help there. Maybe contract out the UIs to a Western programmer? Perhaps a discussion on the marketing side about not only how to get people to want to buy their product but how to make their product something people want to buy! -
Let's face it, LOMAC is an old sim now. Hasn't even had an update in years, the last was a compatablity fix for SF for Vista released not long after Vista was. However, Wags did list a 1.13 patch as a "to do" along with A-10 for DCS, so who knows? I still fly it on occasion, a few times a month. Although I prefer flying the F-15 in the TW sims, the A-10, Su-27/33, MiG-29, and Su-25/T are still top notch, especially the 25T.

COD6 PETITION - NO DEDICATED SERVER, NO MOD TOOLS?
JediMaster replied to Acidrain's topic in CombatACE News
Don't forget that Activision's CEO thinks their games are worth at least $100 if not more. -
I'm using the 182s right now I think for my GTX 260. I tried upgrading to the 191's last week, but I lost all FSAA in my TW sims as well as several other games. I quickly used XP's system restore to get back to the 182s and I've not tried again. I just installed the 191s over the top of the 182s and didn't do a complete uninstall/reinstall. Maybe I'll try that this weekend. Right now, I guess the question is if anyone is using the 191s with their nvidia cards in the TW sims and getting FSAA to work?

Ack! My SF2VAGE got updated, but I admit I've not tried to fly it since. I'll try that tonight, but I'm fearing the worst...a total reinstall...ugh. -

Yeah, that gives a good baseline as to what you'll be offering vs the others out there. People sick of pots that don't care about/for FFB or strain gauge and already have a set of USB pedals from CH or Saitek should take note! Some people love the complicated programming of some HOTAS, but personally I've always just taken someone else's profile and made a couple changes here and there...I want to fly, not code! Oh, since you're going to be making a number of handles, might I suggest a mirror one for the lefties out there that won't use a righty stick? I doubt they'll get the throttle, but right now only things like the Saitek Evo that are symmetrical are available to them. A lefty version of an F-16 stick, while looking totally wrong, will function the same. -
What video card and drivers are you using? I've had issues in the past with FSAA and some games with certain driver revisions.

Any info on the basic plan? For instance, pots or Hall sensors? FFB? Strain gauge or movable? Stick/throttle/rudders sold together, separately, just stick and throttle? -
Nothing specific, but pretty much every ticket I've ever received while driving!

Flew a couple of missions...wow, I've never had so many fighters in the air in a random mission before! I had air activity on random, but there must have been 16 migs easy. I flew as an F-16 and died in a most embarrassing way...tailing a 23, trying to get a guns kill...and swatted from the sky by a wingman's Python 3!!! Then flew in the Nesher and had that same massive number of 21s to deal with. Got 2 of them, plus bombed the target, plus took out several parked 21s with the extra bombs! I think there's a new MiG-21...the FL. It's also Fishbed-D, but it's new. BTW, SF2I brings the number of stock planes + variants (not all flyable without modding, of course) to 131.

Talk about preliminary! -
Mixed OS works fine as long as you install the oldest OS first and then move on from there. It's definitely recommended to install each OS on a separate partition/HD.

80% DL'd! It's a 616MB DL for those wanting to know.

Ok, so a hypothetical expansion of an 80s conflict between US and USSR from beyond central Europe. That means it could be a real location, not like SF and SF2's Dhimar stuff, where they could have faced off like Iceland or Japan, or it could be indeed fictional again if they want to make their own terrain without worrying about adhering to real locations.

Honestly I've never tried. I know Black Shark doesn't have any limit...I can swivel my head 360 degrees from looking out the left, to front, right, back, and then left again! As for LGBs, none of the stock planes had them, although they did have (separately) laser AGMs, TV bombs, and slick bombs. So it wouldn't surprise me if they don't work for players.
