    Gee Whiz...

Those classes are based 100% on post count, nothing more. So you can have a "new member" that's been here since Day 1 if they only post 2x a year. Anyway, I played F-15SE on the C64 as well. Take my F-15E off from my blue-triangle carrier (a carrier? for an F-15?!?), fly from blue water to brown land, attack brown triangle enemy base, fight wireframe triangle MiG, fly back to blue-triangle carrier.
  2. Congrats! First good use of that smiley I've seen!
  3. Mine isn't Time Warner anymore, it got bought out, but they did the same thing. However, they gave us free access to another host. So, no big deal.
  4. I have a book called Cold War Prototypes which is nothing BUT that.
  5. The C130 with the A400 engine on it hasn't flown yet, either. It is doing test runs on the ramp, though.
  6. It is a good day to die...but the day is not yet over!
  7. No doubt they don't have any programmers familiar with "ease of use" on staff.
  8. There's a very good reason to not execute child rapists--which would you rather have, your child raped, or your child raped and then killed? If a rapist knows they'll be executed if they're caught, what's the incentive NOT to kill the child to cover your tracks? After all, a living witness can identify you. This is the same reason the death penalty for kidnapping was revoked, because it actually compelled the offender to kill since the penalty was the same either way yet the likelihood of being caught decreases with the death of the victim. Anyway, abortion laws are too broad. I've been reading lately about cases of parents wanting to euthanize fetuses that were so horribly...messed up...crushed, deformed, battered...that it was the only humane thing to do, but the doctors would refuse because "it's murder." Doesn't matter that the fetus will NOT live even if it lasted full term, doesn't matter that the eventual "natural" death would be VERY painful while an injection would be just a brief moment, no they want the woman to carry it, suffering and in pain with nothing but its demise in the near future because THEIR morality (or that of others as mandated by law) won't allow it. Supposedly the Constitution bans cruel and unusual punishment, but if doing NOTHING is more cruel, that's fine? You know why you won't be helped by anyone if you're run over in the street? Because if you do nothing and walk away, nothing happens to you! But if you go and try to render aid, you can be SUED by the victim for anything because their lawyer will ask "are you a doctor? Then why did you think you should move them?" So lawyers have mandated that people can NOT follow their tendency to render aid because it will stupidly jeopardize them in return! This is the judicial system we want to protect? Jefferson said a little revolution now and then was good when things became too miserable to bear, and between these retarded internal issues and the ridiculous external ones our gov't has gotten us into in the past 20 years, I think it's about time to start over again. As we say in science, "return to first principles" (ie the Constitution) and rework it from there.
  9. I'll say, I was making $7/hr at my first computer job in 1996 at age 22! At 19 I was working at an AMC theater for less...but free drinks, popcorn, and movies helped offset that. Anyway, I remember that Spiderman show, and it wasn't great, but it was ok for a kid. The Hulk with Bill Bixby was definitely the best, and then came Wonder Woman which had, well, 2 reasons why it was better than Spiderman.
  10. Long story, not really interesting.
  11. Years ago I wrote some WWII pilot lyrics for that song, have them saved somewhere. The only part I remember off the top of my head is the part everyone agreed was their favorite, from the middle (where the "Thunderbolts and Lightnings, very very frightening me!" was a natural), is "Adolf Galland has a Focke Wulf set aside for me...for me...for meeee".
  12. Our resident Spad Girl now has shortened to "NFG", but she's not around as much as she used to be. I thought she said something about her personal life (ie away from the PC) getting more busy, so that's to be expected.
  13. Well, the racists do.
  14. Looks to me like nothing more than an easier front end to the Forceware driver's settings. They support game-specific settings as well, they're just not preloaded, you have to do that yourself.
  15. I know I see a "wake" if I fly low enough over the water. I think to see dust blow on the ground I have to fly lower than treetop level, so if it's not flat terrain it's risking a ground flop! Not sure what that effects line does, but there must be a breakdown of the conf.ini settings somewhere. I think =0 turns off shadows for effects, and =1 has them on, but don't know if 2 or higher has any meaning.
  16. I'm enjoying Race 07 right now for its AI, the best I've seen in a racing sim. It's by no means perfect or ideal, but it's got fewer problems than all the rest, so therefore it's the best. I have Race Driver 06 for my PSP, basically "TOCA mobile" and the AI there wasn't nearly as good.
  17. If we all looked the same, it would be about religion. If we all believed the same, it would be about language and accent. If we all talked the same, it would be about how we dress. If we all dressed the same, it would be about where we were from, since there's no possible way we can all be from the same location. Humans deep down do not WANT everyone to be "us", they WANT "us" and "them" so they can make "them" lesser in some way. That is the reason communism will never work, BTW, because humanity has not evolved past that.
  18. Next on The History Channel, "Pimp My Warbird."
  19. "Fussy eater." We used to say that in my house. "He's a fussy eater." "Fussy eater" was a euphemism for "big pain in the ass." "I don't like that." They tried to corner me with logic! "How do you know you don't like if you've never tried it?" "It came to me in a dream!"
  20. Yes, the first film was 1997, the 2nd was 1999, and the 3rd was 2002.
  21. I don't get "opinion" shows. Who CARES? I don't care what the anchors or whatever you call them FEEL about a situation, I just want to know what HAPPENED. I can form my own opinions, I don't need to hear someone else trying to give them to me. The "shouting down" the other guys and the "turn off the mike" crap is so childish. These are adults? They don't want to hear opposing viewpoints or have a discussion, they want someone on their show who has an opposing viewpoint so they can keep them from talking and belittle them to make THEM look big. When there's a CENTER channel, I'll watch that. The idea that so many of them seem to be on the left that we needed one way out on the right to balance it, like news channels are on a damn seesaw, is retarded. BTW--Fox News lost all credibility with that "terrorist fist jab" comment. I mean really, WTF was that? That's not "telling it like it is", that's "telling it the way you want it to be." GET RID OF THE OPINIONS, THEY ARE NOT WANTED. NEWS IS ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON, NOT WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT.
  22. Ah, so, just like the rest of the world then? Everything here boils down to one thing--what will get me reelected?
  23. Aw, I thought you bought an A-4!
  24. Have all 3 on DVD, saw the last 2 in the theater. Didn't see the first one because I thought it would be stupid. Then I saw it at home and was blown away! I was hoping for a 4, but it's been 6 years now...
