  1. I would start with going to the Microsoft web site and finding the absolute lastest version of Directx. (yes, it will be 9.0 but there have been many small updates to directx.)
  2. Sorry. You need to load the map and then download it to the devices. (There is a download icon on the main control manager panel.) For me it's just not worth it. TW sims do not model brakes the way something like MSFS does. It's almost easier and more usable just to map the "B" key to a joystick or throttle button. I was hoping someone with more CH programming experience than I have (and more free time) would come up with a better idea.
  3. This is very sad. I guess we get accused of a "cowboy mentality" here in the states but I'm not apologizing for it. We recently had an incident here where some punks pulled a gun on a shop owner. The shop owner was also armed and shot both of them in self-defense. He was cleared as having justification for using deadly force. End of story. Yes, I feel for the families of the victims but what do you expect when you threaten someone with a gun. You can't fix stupid.
  4. Nice!
  5. He's the man! I am not at all surprised that he is well on top of it. Thanks for the update.
  6. Yup. You may need to make an additional circuit to reduce airspeed or bank back and forth a bit to lose airspeed. I actually land at closer to 155-160 knots. The real F-117 also has a braking chute. I find the wheel brakes work just fine since I don't foot the bill for brake work All in all a great aircraft and one of my personal favorites. Hats off to Marcelo for his efforts on this one. I'm sure it is not the easiest aircraft to model.
  7. Just to clarify. Do you really need the editor to make the weapons available? I thought the weapon pack install gave you a new weapondata.ini. I can understand needing the editor to change the weapons. Or does this differ with the various packs?
  8. You know I'm there for you, guys. I just need a few days to get some other stuff in order.
  9. "A heavy snowfall was rare in the Shire......." Be glad you're not living in Kentucky, USA!
  10. Yup. Me, too. Never looked back.
  11. Dude! I am downloading as fast as I can!!!!!!! ALL THREE PARTS!!!!!
  12. I have uploaded a MAP and CMS file that shows ONE way to do it. (Awaiting approval.) It is not fancy but it does work. The one issue is that brakes are a toggle in TW sims and you will need to manually release the brakes the first time when starting on the ground. After that the toe function works ok.
  13. 54 downloads

This is probably just one way to do it. The one problem with it is that since B is a toggle I need to manually disengage the brakes when taking off from a runway. After that, press down on the toe will engage the brake, release the toe will disengage. Unzip both files and load the map into CH Control Manager and download. Intended to be a sample.
  14. View File CH pedal MAP file for toe brakes This is probably just one way to do it. The one problem with it is that since B is a toggle I need to manually disengage the brakes when taking off from a runway. 15. It should work just fine. I was using a gameport yoke with CH USB throttles and pedals with no problems. You will need the Control Manager software to configure the pedals.
  16. Nice summary. Thanks for taking the time to fill us in on your experiences.
  17. Yes, Control Manager will definitely be need to do this.
  18. I'll look when I get home but I think the theory that you can map the pedal rotation axis to a key is correct.
  19. Hear! Hear!
  20. 13 years!! 13 years!! This guy is a baby. I've flown them all and have ambitions of becoming a pilot. I've also flown real airplanes and could give a mouse's behind about decimal point accuracy. I have FS2004 if I want to do a little flight training. For the rest I just don't have time to spend pointing and clicking every switch in the cockpit. The bottom line is when I fly a Phantom in WOV it performs pretty much the way the pilots say it would. That's good enough for me. The sims look good on my paltry (for these days) rig. Whatever. No one forces anyone to purchase the sim. I also barely have time to post on THIS website much less too many others. If you have that much time to worry about a flight sim you need to take a serious look at your priorities. Write your own or work on mods or do SOMETHING useful.
  21. My experience is that graphics drivers are a good place to start. Also make sure you have the latest version of directx. It might help to post your system specs.
  22. Ok. I am really sorry if I missed this somewhere........... Just for giggles after the recent patches I tried putting the WOI and SFP terrains into FE (mainly due to my reading about the Anglo-Turkish war of 1918). They seem to work where I did not think they did pre-patch. Whether I work on a Anglo-Turkish campaign is another issue.
  23. 1.02 also removes the CD check. We've all just faced the fact that LOMAC was not designed to be modded to any degree. No new planes, etc. It's why I eventally lost interest in it and fly my Thirdwire sims exclusively these days. Flaming Cliffs is OK but the DRM just ticks me off. I don't trust it and I've got plenty of other simming to do.
  24. "Dogfights". I knew his name sounded familiar. Stand down, Marine!
  25. avast and spybot are my two primary tools for this sort of thing and I have yet to run into an issue. As a techie the first question I ask is: "Did anything change?"
