  1. It can also get ugly if the relationship goes sour. I dated a young lady that I worked with and things didn't work out. It was a VERY uncomfortable situation at the workplace.
  2. If you DO have MSFS there is a freeware one that has been released by Alphasim. I have not flown it myself but Alphasim usually produces a pretty good product. http://www.alphasim.co.uk/index2.html Click on the Freeware link.
  3. 1. It is well supported by the developer. 2. Easy to mod. 3. Graphics options that allow it to run on a wide variety of PCs. 4. Good community. Is it the BEST WWI sim? That's a subjective question...... Other than FE there really aren't a lot of other offerings. I thought OFF was ok but I kind of lost interest in it after awhile. I'm not exactly sure why. Rise of Flight may have potential but I don't see it being as moddable as FE. I may be wrong. I still fly Red Baron 3D on occasion but FE "fixes" some things I don't like about RB3D and finding a full copy of RB3D might be a challenge.
  4. The idea being that most B-52 (for instance) crew members are far younger than the airframe they are flying?
  5. I think if you approach it with the same attitude you need to watch the new Bond films you'll be OK. I don't see this as a further beating of the franchise to death but as a possible fresh start on things. I'll see it.
  6. I did not get to see the actual show but it does sound like one of the most solid attempts at recreating the actual events I've ever heard of. I'm going to try to catch a re-run if it's available. I get a little weary of the fuzzy photos and fuzzy logic of most of the conspiracy theorists. Makes for good talk radio but we you push them for this kind of evidence they seem to scurry away. (Or claim all the evidence was destroy/covered up/etc.)
  7. It's all kind of moot to me since I'm not really interested in anything produced by ED. I have, after much effort, gotten LOMAC (no FC, thank you) running fairly decently on my modest (but well within LOMAC box recommeded specs) rig. I really wanted this sim and I was bound and determined to get it running. Spare me the "never believe the specs" speeches, please. Been there, done that. ED can do anything they please. The market will judge whether the decisions were correct. They have not been, nor are they, the only game in town much less saviors of the genre. I, too, have had no problems with SF, but I'm just not a big fan of CP in any form. Pretty good discussion here.
  8. ONE MORE FLIGHT...... ONE MORE FLIGHT....... ONE MORE FLIGHT......
  9. RIP. I just finished re-reading Andromeda Strain. A true classic.
  10. Absolutely agree. Go back and watch "Dr. No" again. Very few toys, etc. and VERY close to the original novel. "Casino Royale" is also very similar to the original book with the biggest change being the substitution of Texas Hold'em for Baccarat as the card game of choice. The few gadgets were realistic and low key.
  11. No. Using a parachute for landing sort of negates the "practical" aspect. (Having the chute as a safety measure is another story.) Trust me. Since my Jonny Quest days I would LOVE to see a truly practical jetpack. This is a remarkable achievement but we're not quite there yet IMHO. It's got to be a serious rush flying that bad boy!
  12. No lie, Bwanna.... I wonder if this code was included in the WOE/WOV patches?
  13. I would be more worried about them bumping into things.
  14. I use SimHQ mainly due to its F-22 TAW community.
  15. CombatAce (of course.) wargamer.com simhq.com
  16. I look at it this way. I do not have the time or talent to contribute to this community through modding. I'm not rich, but this is a major hobby for me and the price of a modest membership is really nothing compared to what I've spent in hardware, etc. to enjoy simming. If my membership helps the community by keeping CA going it's the least I can do. What DOES F**KING PISS ME OFF is being asked to pay $4.95 a month to Yahoo to listen to the Kansas State football webcasts.......(I'm not going to. I'll suffer...)
  17. .
  18. I would settle for an explanation of the differences between the two.
  19. Generally, you should install the OLDEST OS first. So you may have an issue booting XP if you install it AFTER Vista. You can work through these if you are familiar with the BOOT.INI file. There is also a utility called VistaBootPro mentioned in a couple of MS articles but I have not used it. (Don't have Vista.......) Do a search on microsoft.com for dual boot or multi-boot. Lots of good info to be had there. Installing on separate drives is a good idea.
  20. Listening to Nebraska football. Working.......(grrr. IT sux sometimes.) Cook out at least one of the days. Not much else if I can get away with it......
  21. Yes, I would say it's good. I will not fall over myself like some folks in calling it the greatest flight sim ever developed. The simple fact is I have it and it is probably one of my least played sims. Just gets OLD after a while.
  22. Agreed. I am getting very tired of this story. Just f**king retire, already!!
  23. MOM!!!!!!!! Dave's head exploded again! Dude, you gotta learn to BREATH between post readings.
  24. I purchased the T-38/C-17 combo from these guys and have been trying to reinstall the aircraft on my gaming computer. The first thing I discovered is that they do an internet based check everytime to try to fly the T-38. If you don't have an internet connection it pukes. (I recently decided to turn off the internet connection on my gaming computer if I don't need it.) Shades of StarForce...... The real problem appears to be the fact that whatever FSD uses to validate "you are only installing on one computer" does not work very well. Every time I tried reinstalling on my gaming computer their log shows a "different" computer. They started off sending me an asinine condescending email saying "we can see you are installing on multiple computers HA HA HA" but as I said, I only have FS2004 on one computer and that's the one I'm installing to. I have sent a couple of follow up emails (some nice, some not so much) but have yet to get a response. Anyway, my recommendation is to avoid these folks if you can. I have had much better luck with other payware providers such as Abacus and Shockwave.
  25. Agreed. Does anyone know if TK can release the avionics stuff he used for the Air Force F-22 sim? We have a very good model now courtesy the modding community. If we could just get the proper avionics and maybe a bit more accuracy in the modelling of steath we would have a real winner on our hands. Same this could be said for the F-35.
