I was reading this past weekend, and remembered another book. It won't take a lot of time to read. You may remember it as the poorly done movie "Screamers", with Peter Weller. The actual story is titled "Second Variety", written by Philip Kindred Dick. ( Yes, the same one of Blade Runner fame, even if the book is actually titled something else) Anyway, here it is; free of charge. http://www.gutenberg.org/files/32032/32032-h/32032-h.htm

Not having all the details before now, didn't stop the rush to judgment, did it?

'Getting awfully quiet around here...
Nightshade/PR replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I think it's been a trying year for most of us, and it's caused a lot of us to have to reevaluate a LOT of things with a new level of seriousness. At least, that's my answer. I'm at a decision crossroads for a great many things now, as I suspect are a LOT of us. I haven't given up on up the hobby that splits being my favorite (tied with reading), but for the present, R/L holds sway, and we'll have to see where things go from here. -
I'm sure I was not the only one laughing my a$$ off at this. And then I let my mind visualize it...........................and promptly laughed even harder. I loved this one.

A Pretty Bit of Coding...

I was already impressed with what I was seeing. I was watching the tri-motor lumber across the horizon and expecting it to get jumped, but when I saw the t-34's in the trees, I figured it would get good. I was not disappointed. I LOVED the ambush!! The level of detail in this game is outstanding; watching shrapnel fly off the vehicles in big chunks from a cannon hit was truly awesome to behold. And then it got better. I was open-mouthed at the Stuka cannon run. That was just a thing of beauty. Once again, I'm struck by the sense of...........vastness you feel when watching the video. You have gotten me hooked.... -

That was impressive. In fact, the entire scene was well done. I especially like the fact that it was staged just at sunrise, and there was still fog hanging around the countryside. And it gave the impression of flying over a very large area. This was just a great clip, and caused me to go watch some others. -
This was fun. I missed a few (I'm not a big TV fan) that were obvious in hindsight, but I was so proud of myself for getting Ash's Oldsmobile from "The Evil Dead."

Great Story!!

In a subject that should be a dead issue, we get this last piece of insulting "literature." -
I was thinking that I might pick it up as well. From what I have seen of it, it's some serious eye-candy, and I DO like Harriers. I also have the early access jitters, but I took a chance on the 1st version of SF, and have never regretted it. Who knows, I might catch lightning in a bottle for the 2nd time.

Going into enemy territory is always a dangerous proposition. When you have to go in deep and unarmed with nothing more than a set of cameras and extra fuel, the pucker factor climbs. It all pays off when you catch them unawares. -

Heavy Metal Ninja. I loved flying over the thick SAM's in the Korea (V3) terrain, and just ghosting in to the target. -
